Mom didn’t change her engine air filter too often on her 2003 Chevy Impala, it seems. Recently, the car developed a “popping” sound while accelerating sometimes. This was very agitating having taken out the car previous filter only to find out that this filter did not fit. The information in the box that came with the filter said it fitted my 2002 Chevrolet Impala. It does not!! As you can see in the picture the photo on the left is the new filter the photo on the right is the old filter. Clearly the sizes are different.Read more

This is an OEM style, drop in replacement filter. My old one was approximately one year old. This is the least expensive filter Fram makes in this size. I honestly don’t know why you would buy one of their more expensive filters, especially since it is the prettiest filter they make. It has a bright orange foam rubber frame that fits snugly inside the airbox of my 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS (3.8l engine). It was cheaper here than buying at a local store. There is no noticeable change in power or mpg. I was able to drive faster than the speed limit within minutes of changing the filter. I will change this filter again next year.Read more
