I ordered the Venetian Red Pearl touch-up paint. The picture of the product shows a black bottle with a paint brush cap. The product I received is a pen. It has a ceramic cleaning tip, the paint tip, and a clear coat with brush all in one pen-shaped product. I would say that the pen is probably a better solution than the brush paint that is pictured. The only issue with the pen is that it is very hard to regulate the flow of paint when you want only a small amount of paint for a small chip. I found it best to flow some paint onto a piece of hard material like tile or glass, then use the pen to dip and paint from that tile or glass. Also, the paint comes with a plastic piece attached to it. It looks like – for a lack of better description – rocket fins. It’s used to stabilize the pen so it can be stood up on one end for storage, I guess. Anyway, DO NOT try to take these fins off by twisting it – just pull it off in a straight movement. If you twist, it removes the lid to the paint reservoir. I made this mistake and spilled about $10 worth of paint onto my garage floor. I was not expecting the main paint reservoir to be accessible – I would have thought it would be a sealed product, but no.Read more

Very convenient device for touching up just a few small chips. There’s plenty of paint in the pen for many touch ups as long as they’re somewhat small. Make sure to shake it to mix the color VERY well before doing your first touch up. My first one didn’t match as perfectly as the subsequent touch ups I did because I should have mixed it a little better.Read more

I used Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver Jelly to COMPLETELY eliminate the rust out of the spots which works very well turning the rust into a grey layer. Like a prime coat. Shake the Subaru paint applicator for about 30-60 seconds. I used the abrasive tip to gently scrape the edges of the scratches. You want to get any and all debris, rust residual or lint away from the spot to be painted. I then used the paint brush (unscrew it) to fill in the area. You can add multiple paint coats before applying the top coat. Allow 30 minutes to dry between each coat. As you can see in the photos I uploaded, K6U is a 100% perfect match for my 2014 Outback, Carbide Grey. Perfect!!!Read more

As others have noted, the Satin White Pearl is *not* a good color match. It is an improvement over the scrapes someone left across the entire length of my rear bumper, but I can see the paint from more than 15 ft away. The brush for the paint, and the sponge applicator for the top coat are ludicrous. If you don’t have a smaller brush like from nail polish that you can clean, I recommend wiping it as dry as you can first, flatten it, then cut it into an angled brush, removing at least one third. Start the application with the shorter side. The foam thing for the top coat fell off its rod, and there wasn’t nearly enough to complete the job, so I get to buy some more.Read more

Easy to work with. It also matches existing color perfectly along with the right mix of metal flakes for the metallic factor paint. It spreads out pretty well and fills scratches better than other touch up paints I’ve worked with. Looks near-perfect when combined with wet sanding and polishing. The only downside is that its adhesion to primer is not quite as good, even with a well prepped surface. It may take several coats to do the job. I also love that this touch-up “pen” comes with an abrasive tip for prep, narrow plastic needle for cleaning out scratches, and the paint itself is applied with a good brush attached to the cap.Read more

It was easy enough to use, but it didn’t match the paint on my new WR Blue car. This paint was too dark and my car is new, so no fading yet.. As others have mentioned, be careful opening the clear coat. It is easy to open it upside down. the brush is in the big main part of the applicator, and the clear coat is in the silver well at the bottom. Over all pretty disappointed in the color match.Read more

Pain is too dark to be usable, see photos. If the paint was usable I would give this a flowing 5 star review because I like the abrasive tip, applicators and the fact that it has paint and clear. The kit works well if you take the time to do the touch up properly (paint, built up clear coat, wet sand, buff, wax)Read more

The touch up paint actually comes in a pen. So, the paint can be applied using the pen-tip or a nail-polish size brush that sits in the paint reservoir of the pen. There is a abrasive tip as well which is nice for clearly paint residue in the area where you want to paint. These three components are accessed from one end of the pen and the other end contains a reservoir of clear-coat with a foam brush sitting inside. The paint color is very close to the paint of my Subaru XV Crosstrek. I say “close” because I did not do the greatest job painting over a 1.5 inch-ish area of my car so the spot is still conspicuous if you look at it within arms length away. Still, the paint was worth the price.Read more
