The kit comes with everything you need. A few recommendations is to buy a can of mineral spirits to clean up everything. Buy some pipe cleaners to run through the body when cleaning. The gun is very easy to clean and the spray is nice and gentle. The kit comes with an extra needle and a different size nozzle. The part I took a pick the the rear needle lock nut. It is very easy to lose so when cleaning, I recommend doing so over a towel or mat to prevent it from bouncing off the table. I did lose it. But this company had suck great customer service, they sent me a replacement for free. I wouldn’t have known what to do if they didn’t do that for me. A side note, the mini compressor does tend to shimmy across the table a little. So watch out for that. Otherwise the setup, take down, is easy and the takedown is very straight forward.Read more

My previous experience with airbrushing was using a cheap Testor propellant-driven airbrush used on a couple of airplane models, so this was definitely an upgrade for me. It had been almost a decade since my last model build, and I was not sure if this was going to hold my interest again long enough to justify the outlay of several hundred dollars for a professional airbrush. This complete airbrush kit was under $60 and I figured it was a low enough investment not to worry about it if it did not meet my needs. Let me state that my previous Testor airbrush did not use needles and had a fixed nozzle and could not be taken apart, and was mostly made from cheap plastic, so compared to it the Gosheer airbrush felt like a major upgrade! It came in a nice sturdy box with extra needles and nozzles of different diameters as well as cleaning tools and a cute little tabletop compressor with a matching air hose. It also included a breakout diagram of the airbrush components, but absolutely no instructions on use or cleaning. But not to worry, a few YouTube videos later, I was ready to take the plunge, and here are my observations and recommendations after several sessions of use: First, don’t bother trying to use anything but the highest pressure setting. While the Amazon description states that the compressor is capable of 25 PSI, I kind of doubt that, and as any lower setting results in very poor paint atomization. Second, it will not work well, if at all, if the paint is not thinned to at least 60%, probably related to the first point. Third, you really need to clean the airbrush very thoroughly with either water for acrylics or the appropriate airbrush cleaner for other types of paint after every use. This is super important! Pour a little of the appropriate cleaner into the cup, swirl then dump. Once the fluid becomes clear, turn on the compressor and spray for a few seconds to clear the nozzle, then dry the inside of the cup with a Qtip. Make sure to unscrew the nozzle from the front and clean the inside of it as well with a Qtip and the cleaning tools provided. From time to time, you might also want to remove the needle and clean it as well, which is done by unscrewing the back of the airbrush and sliding the needle out. Following these simple instructions, my airbrush has been working flawlessly and I could not be happier with it. At some point, I will probably want to upgrade to a more professional airbrush, but so far I have not had any pressing need as I am only an amateur model builder at best.Read more

First the good. The airbrush is easy to take apart and clean – it seems all the important screwed in parts have appropriate knurls/ridges or flat sides for small tools (they give you a nozzle wrench) so you can take it apart by hand. They give you a cutaway and exploded view detail of the airbrush so you can see all the tiny parts inside and if you drop one, you know what to look for and where to put it back. I’m a novice airbrusher, but it I can get good, consistent flow with finger practice on the trigger. Now the “oops”. The “pocket” air compressor has spiked rubber feet presumably to dampen the vibration of its mechanism during operation, however it still vibrates around the table and worse. If you put your airbrush in the holder when it’s operating it will literally vibrate out of the holder and fall to the table in just a few seconds. Currently I have it held (lightly) in a rubber jawed Panavise which controls the vibration so you can put your airbrush in the holder, and it stays there. I won’t rate the product down for this issue because, it’s a tiny compressor and what do you expect? It’s annoying, but it can be addressed and does not actually prohibit the use of the equipment or the quality of the airbrush work. So just be aware that you will have to compensate for the compressor vibration, so you don’t chase it, or your airbrush, around the worktable.Read more

At first I was a bit skeptical, but it seems like it will perform for the projects I have in mind (painting models and miniatures). I watched a decent amount of videos about compressors and airbrushes. Trying to decide what to get for my first kit. That being said this isn’t on demand air so watch out for over heating. I ran it for 15 to 20 minutes everything seemed ok and the temp was only slightly warm. I sprayed a variety of liquids in order to test it. Straight out of the box with needle size .3 I was able to spray water, pledge (don’t judge me), and vellejo primer (not thinned). Overall I’m pleased with the purchase. Let’s just see how long it holds up. Also not sure that it’s spraying at 25 psi but keeping it at max seems to work best.Read more

I bought it with the expectation that the small compressor would start to overheat or shut off after about a half hour of use. The first time went as expected. I got about a half hour give or take of off and on spraying before it went into cool down mode. I had finished what I needed and cleaned it up. The second time I used it I had it running for about 5 minutes (off and on spraying) and the pump went into cool down mode; no air, flashing red light with a little beep type sound. Maybe I got a dud unit, but I can’t find anyway to contact the seller. Not from this page, not from the sellers page, and if you click the link for warranties it just tells you to contact the seller. I would love to contact the seller to try to rectify this issue but I can’t find anyway to do so. 5 minutes is not a reasonable amount of time to work on any project. So far I would only warn anyone against buying this and instead buy anything that is of higher quality.Read more

My partner purchases this kit for painting his models; mainly for his train set surrounds and model aeroplanes. He had been using just a fine paint brush, but when a friend told him about the alternative, airbrushing, he had to have a go. He has assembled a few of the pieces so I could photograph them before he set to work using the kit. He was given some of the airbrush paints to practice with before buying himself a set; they are acrylic paints, but specially made for these airbrush guns. The paint distribution is very fine and precise; in fact there are a variety of different sized pin heads that can be used. A clip fits neatly into the top of the motor where the pen can be rested between uses; the paint going into the upper lidded cup. The trigger controls the pressure of the paint flow; he has found the highest level is the best for his current projects. Everything in this kit looks and feels very well made, well in fact like a professional kit, our friend has, and he paid considerably more for his. After watching several explanatory videos on YouTube my partner felt quiet confident, and in the week or so since he purchased this kit, has moved onto bigger projects, some more successful than others! The small wooden bird box he airbrush painted, looks very professionally done, I must admit Small cleaning brushes are provided but most of the time a good rinse in a cleaning fluid, followed by a rinse under the tap, seems to have cleaned everything fully; cotton buds also come in handy, I’m told; this however seems to be the most fiddly bit. His main advise is, don’t use paint that is too thick, as it blocks the mechanism; check out the videos on-line, they really helped him; and practice before undertaking important projects. A very good kit for the price; he is delighted and happy to recommend.Read more

Considering the price this brush works surprisingly well. Perfect for doing base coats and blending on larger surfaces. Don’t expect to do fine work as the 0.2mm needle won’t really work (not unusual to be honest) but as a starter airbrush this is excellent. Just remember to always blow dry air through as you finish spraying as of you don’t it will clog in seconds.Read more

Read more

Really good starter kit. Eventually you’ll want to upgrade to at least a compresser with tank. The compressor supplied vibrates so much it fell off my desk a couple of times. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for this.Read more

Read more
