I actually had the Generation 1 Haakaa that I received as a gift. I liked it so much that I purchased this set with the lid along with an additional lid to go with my first Haakaa. I like that this one is a bit bigger than the original and has the suction base so I’m not as scared about bumping it over. To me it works just as well as the first generation and because of the larger size may be slightly easier to latch on than the other, but that could be dependent on breast size and shape. For the price it’s absolutely worth it. When in a pinch, I also use this frequently for hand expression after a normal use while feeding baby on the other side. Great gift for all moms-to-be!Read more

I have a 4oz Haakaa and wanted a second one for when baby starts sleeping through the night I can ease discomfort on both breasts without having to use my best pump. Unfortunately the bigger size does not have the same suction quality as the smaller size and the thicker silicone is a bit tougher to place on the breast than the size that’s only an ounce smaller. I really wish I’d have just purchased the 4oz size again instead of the 5oz. I used it a couple times for middle of the night feeds when it had been 5hrs since baby ate and I got less milk than usual (1oz when I’m usually closer to 2-3 from one breast)…. thought that was strange so after the flow stopped I popped the smaller one on and got an additional 1oz of breastmilk out which made me very dissatisfied I bought the larger size. This size is easier to clean than the 4oz one but other than that I’d recommend the 4oz size. I wish I could exchange.Read more

It’s worth paying for the upgrade, as it doesn’t tip and has a lid to prevent spills, but frankly I find it offensive that they’re charging so much more for such a small variation in features. One star off for that. I would have liked to pay at least $7 less for this item for what it is, but it’s the only one like it on the market currently.Read more

I have another manual pump but this is my favorite. It’s so easy to use, doesn’t hurt and doesn’t leave my nipples sore. It transfers easily and is easy to store in the fridge right away with the lid. I can’t recommend this more!Read more

Once you know the correct way to use a hakaa (folding flange down) in the beginning, it’s great. I may have opted for the smaller one just because I’ve got a short torso and a long baby so I can see it eventually getting kicked off. I love the suction base over no base. I have both and this one is definitely more secure on tables and storing in the fridge.Read more

This did not work at all. I know many other people reported good outcomes with the use of this pump, but it collected nothing other than scant drops for me. I returned this item and instead use a manual breast pump that works much better. I’m not sure if this is for women who naturally leak- but I do not. I had high hopes but was ultimately dissatisfied.Read more

When I first started nursing I used this on the breast that my son wasn’t feeding on to not only catch any leaked milk but also to passively express milk to build up my supply. This has good suction, is easy to use, and is also easy to clean. I bought the lid with it to prevent spills, although honestly never found myself using it.Read more

I love my haakaa 4oz and was so excited for the new upgrade 5 oz. However it’s super bulky when you’re trying to nurse and collect on the other Breast. The suction base is more in the way. What I’m most disappointed in is this haakaa doesn’t have a good seal, I did get it to suction, but I had gaps around the flange edges causing it to lose suction so I ended up messing with it the whole time. Not worth the extra money. I’ll be ordering another 4oz instead.Read more

I love this pump! I’ve never been any good at pumping and on my 3rd baby wasn’t going to splurge on anything new but this caught my eye. The trick is to know how to use it. I squeeze it peel the opening back then pop it on one side while baby feeds on the other – the letdown reflux does the rest. I get as much as I’ve ever gotten with other pumps, 2-3 oz on a good day. I use it first thing in the morning. I don’t need too much milk in storage so this produces enough for occasional use and saves a lot of faff but I think if I were pumping full time I’d use something else as well.Read more
