Luckily when I purchased this harmonica for my toddler, something inside told me to purchase another one. Mainly because this “Small Fish” was being advertised as if it was small sized, so I got a full size fender (Fender Blues Deluxe) as well for almost the same exact price. Long story short, the Small Fish was the same size as the Fender as well, except it doesn’t allow you to play when inhaling which is a huge defect. It’s perfect for very young children 2 1/2 and 5. It is sturdy and in tune. It is a popular toy in my house and a perfect introduction to make-your-own -music. Not enough notes to play anything the least bit complicated. All harmony is in a major chord. The kids love it and I am satisfied with it. Purchased this particular harmonica thinking about some young children in my life. (ages 6-10). It has very good sound quality and it can have a mellow and a bright tone, unlike others that could be ever grating on the ears – if a young child was playing it. ( If you know what I mean.) Highly recommend it for either child or adult, whomever would like to carry a small harmonica around in a pocket. I strongly suggest everybody to have a pocket sized harmonica with them. I’m very pleased with this purchase. This is a quality instrument for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. It comes wrapped in a cloth pouch inside an attractive gift-able box, with a cleaning cloth. (I also bought her a real recorder, but had to put that away until she gets older. She likes to blow hard and just makes it squeak!) When she blows or sucks hard on this harmonica, it’s not annoying and the sounds she makes are quite melodic. I like to open some online videos and we watch harmonica players and she LOVES to watch and imitate the “Blues” style. This harmonica was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old granddaughter. She opened it on Christmas day and she was excited. She started to play it immediately and for the rest of the day. My other granddaughter finally had to tell her to put it away so she could get some sleep. She started in playing it again the very next day and she has played it every day since then, working on different songs. I bought this for a granddaughter who wanted to learn how to play the harmonica. She loves it! It came in a cool black cardboard box with metallic gold lettering. Inside was a soft drawstring bag containing the harmonica. It also has a sheet of instructions. The harmonica has numbers above the holes to help with song practice. This granddaughter likes it so much I just ordered 2 more for two other granddaughters who are coming to visit soon. I’m keeping the harmonicas at my house so they don’t drive their parents crazy! The only negative is the box has a slightly unpleasant odor that is gradually dissipating.Read more
