I don’t care really, it’s used on my cat. And she LOVES this brush. So it gets 5 stars. This is more her review than mine. So, “Meow meow meow, meow. Meow. Meow, meow, rawl. Meow. Meow. Meow! Purrrrrrr!” Those are her words, not mine. I wish it had a button to get out the fur easier, but hey, that’s what multi-purpose chopsticks are for.Read more

You have never seen a shorthaired cat with as much fur as mine. She has the densest, fuzziest coat. I got this brush to try to help her avoid hairball issues, which it does, but the real treat is how much she loves being brushed! We’ve had other brushes that were only tolerated on her back and sides of her face. With this Hartz Slicker, she comes and stands on my lap, patiently presents both left and right sides for thorough brushing, then settles down and purrs like a maniac while I brush her face, throat, chest, belly, arms, legs and tail. The brush takes a huge amount of fur from her coat every time. The real treat is how much she loves it. Plus she hasn’t hacked up a hairball since we got it.Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is the first brush I’ve consistently used on my ex- feral kitty. He loves this brush. He even turns on his back so I can brush his belly. After using this brush for a week or two I’ve noticed that physically he seems to trust me more. He lays next to me and gets very close to my face. He never did this before I started using this brush. To remove the fur I use my thumb to scrape it into one mat. I don’t just pull the hair straight up like I do with other brushes. The brush is small but it works so well that I don’t mind the size. My cat has medium length fur. I will definitely buy this brush again!!Read more

My cat has medium length fur. I bought 2 brushes from this listing, A and B, as pictured. Because I didn’t really know what the difference was based on the descriptions, and couldn’t figure out which would be best for my cat, I had intended to return one, but kept both. Brush A I find is awesome for loosening up fur below the top coat, then I use B to pick it all up. A is absolutely garbage for picking up fur; it essentially just falls off the brush and back on to my cat, but does a stellar job doing work that B can’t. Brush A is absolutely worthless on its own, in my opinion. Brush B is a basic grooming brush that picks up fur as it goes. It does not have any release mechanism, so getting the fur out involves using your fingers to grab between the prongs. Bit of a hassle but meh. The prongs are also very flimsy and are prone to bending; I expect to have to replace this brush within a year of purchase for this reason. With that said, the 2 brush combo has extra steps, and can make a bit of a mess, but does a great job helping us control my cats fur fallout. TL;DR get brush A if you have another brush to pick up the fur. It does not have a good fur catcher on it. Get B if you need a brush for basic grooming that picks up fur. Bonus horribly unflattering picture of my catRead more

My Cat: middle-aged male, american shorthair orange/white, about 10 pounds, not skinny or fat. This brush is, paws-down, our favorite (I have maybe 4 different ones). It’s a compact brush with a small head. The brush’s bristles are covered with small plastic beads, so the cat doesn’t get a sharp poke when he grinds his face against it. I like the feel of this brush in my hand: I can either brush him by holding the handle, or I can hold the top of the brush in my hand and brush that way. The two options enable me to switch it up and give my hand a rest, and easily apply different amounts of pressure while brushing. I’ve had this brush for several months and the caps on the bristles have yet to come off – the brush seems very well made. The brush is also very easy to clean – one downward swipe with my fingers removes almost all the cat hair. If you’re looking for one brush to rule them all, this is a very good option. I also like the purple colors – even the plastic caps on the tines are purple! I’m thinking of getting another one just to keep one of these in different parts of the apartment. I agree with other reviewers that the bristles are fairly stiff. If you have a very skinny or very fragile cat, this might not be the brush for you and your cat.Read more

This really get the under coat off my cats. They love it. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star is the rubber nubs on the end of the wires wore away faster than I thought they should. I do have 2 cats and they get brushed regularly but this brush only lasted 6 months. I have purchased it again because it is a good brush but just plan on getting two at a time is you are a constant groomer like me.Read more

Best Cat Brush EVER! We have 3 cats from long hair to short and we shave the long hair twice a year. They all love being brushed with this brush. It even works great on the long haired cat after she has just been shaved. It gets the little loose hairs off and she loves it! There are similar brushes that we have tried but there is something about this “Hartz Slicker Brush” that makes it different. I’ve bought two of these and will be buying more so I can have them in more rooms of the house. Cats love to be brushed with this brush. If I could a afford it, I’d buy a hundred of these to give to the local Humane Society to give away to every one who adopts a cat.Read more

My cats love love love this. They push against it when I’m brushing. One tries to chew it. They purr loud as can be while getting brushed. One cat has a thick coat and it removes a ton of her loose hair. The other cat has a thin coat and it also removes his loose hair. Great for average or short hair. Would buy it again if I lose or break it. Has held up great for a year so far , even after the cat trying to chew the bristles.Read more

I try to brush my cat at least once every two weeks or so, but we both agree it’s not for us. The older brushes I would use were also very difficult to clean, and guess who always ended up with that job? Hint: my cat is a freeloader, so the answer is me. After using this brush, I think I’ve been hired by my cat. I’m now her personal stylist. She meowed and followed me around the whole house demanding I brush her more. Guess what? No pay in return. Anyways, I have to go. She’s requesting more. I’ve created a high maintenance monster!Read more

Brushing my new Persian kitten hasn’t been an enjoyable experience for either of us (Teddy bear to Gremlin in 2 seconds flat), until I decided to replace my current pin brush for this brush. Its a perfect size, removes a good amount of fur and leaves his fur lovely and fluffy after; and most importantly, he much prefers this brush so grooming sessions are a lot better for both of us. Result. I’ve actually just ordered another one for upstairs.Read more

Well, what a surprise! With the usual brush (thin wires with no bobbles on the ends) the cat would tolerate about 4 strokes and then do a runner. But as soon as I brushed her once with this brush, she was rolling about on the ground and rubbing her head and loving it!! I couldn’t believe the difference! Because she loved it so much, I did wonder if it was impregnated with cat nip or something. The change this brush made to the cats tolerance was unbelievable.Read more

In truth this brush is no smaller width wise than the rectangular one I already had, however the angled head makes it so much easier to brush my cats. It’s a simple slicker brush with the nodules on the end of each wire but it works a treat, I can get under their chins and brush their chests without clonking them accidentally round the jaw no matter how they inconveniently squiggle about with delight. No silly extra bits of plastic to remove the hair either, just swipe you thumb across the brush in the direction of the bristles and away it comes. Easier for me and better for them. Perfect. Buy it.Read more

My cats hate being brushed they have semi long hair so has to be done they are elderly now and are less able to keep on top it than they used to but this little brush is perfect it is nice and neat the bristles dont scratch so less hostile reaction to my help really pleased with this product the shape helps avoid accidents when doing their bibs as they will keep poking their noses in while I’m doing this area love itRead more
