Got watering bag for a medium size tree that has little ground area for water to reach roots. Bag was easy to secure to the tree — couldn’t zip bag all way up because of size of tree trunk but that wasn’t an issue, bag worked just fine. Have used bag 3 times and am very pleased with performance. For watering newly planted trees or trees with small ground areas for water to get to roots, this bag is highly recommended.Read more

These bags are supposed to be slow releasing, hence the reason for using a bag. Guess it’s my fault for not reading the 5-9 hour release in the description. The water all comes out much quicker than my expectation. You would need to spend 20 minutes filling up the bag everyday.Read more

These are a lifesaver. Tree savers to be exact. I live in a hot dry climate with heavy clay soil and even with early planting, soil amendments, and daily care, newly planted trees can still easily die in the hottest days of summer. I put these three slow-release watering bags down around three newly planted sakura (flowering cherry) trees. Well, they are not AS slow-releasing as they claim. It does not take 5-9 hours to empty the bag of water. It takes around 1 hour. But in that 1 hour, they have done their job. They are delivering constant water for an hour which is long enough to let the water soak into the clay soil and get down deep. This is way better than when the sprinklers go on and only moisten the topmost layer of soil. And better than when I manually water with a hose and the water is coming out too fast that the clay cannot absorb and most of it runs off. The bag also protects the base of the trunk and provides young roots some shade. All three of my newly planted trees are doing well and we’ve already had several days 110 degree weather. Since the water penetrates so deeply, I only refill them every week or every other week depending on temperature. So I’m not out there watering every day or twice a day anymore. Added bonus is the flowers and plants I have growing around those trees seem to be benefitting from the deep soak as well. These bags zip around the trunk of the trees. But two, three, or more, can be zipped together in order to wrap around thicker trunks. Therefore they can be used to deeply water more established/mature trees as well. I have a couple of established trees that my current irrigation system does not reach that would benefit from a couple of these bags. They are not only for seedlings. It does take some time to fill each bag but at least I’m not watering every day anymore. For what they are and what they do, they are a great investment and helpful tool for taking care of young, thirsty trees.Read more

This watering bag is so helpful. I have a young mango tree that is having it’s first mango this year. Our spring weather tends to be dry, and sunny, so I was dragging a bucket of water to my tree everyday. This bag is saving me from that daily chore, and it is watering my tree in the best way, a slow trickle, not a big splash. These bags are very sturdy. They zip up like a jacket around the trunk and stay on securely. I see that our local parks department uses the same type of bangs around their newly planted trees, so I am confident that these will do the job well.Read more

I live in an area that is experiencing a catastrophic drought and need every tool available to help conserve water. We have several young apple trees, and these watering bags are the perfect solution for them. My trees are a little small for the height of the bags, but we can leave the zipper open a bit and that allows the bottom branches to stick out. Once in place, it is easy to add water with a hose being inserted into the hole in the top of the bag. The material the bags are made of is thick, and should be able to withstand the sun’s harsh rays.Read more

Read more
