Definitely read the fine print on this one. I specifically wanted to buy monk fruit WITHOUT erythritol. I deliberately avoided packages that said “monk fruit and erythritol.” I wanted monk fruit only. When I saw this, I was very happy to find one, and the reviews all seemed very positive. But I just received it and see in very tiny print on the package that this does indeed have erythritol as the FIRST ingredient. This should be called Erythritol Sweetener Classic (with monk fruit)” NOT “All-Natural Monk Fruit Sweetener Classic.” As it is, I’m the one who didn’t look more closely at the ingredients list, so I’m going to take the $10 hit and just throw this away. But I’m leaving a review for anyone who, like me, took the front of the packaging and reviews at face value. If you do not want a sweetener with erythritol, look elsewhere.Read more

This Health Garden Monk Fruit Sweetener has the consistency and look of regular table sugar. I am not a fan of most sugar-free sweeteners. In fact, I dislike the flavor of all of them I have tried except Monk Fruit. I have been using this Monk Fruit in my coffee and I’m so happy to finally find a better choice than sugar that I can stand. The flavor is good. I don’t notice the difference in my coffee and the look and feel is the same. This is a great choice if wanting to cut out sugar. The 12-ounce size fits right in my sugar bowl perfectly, although I will likely purchase the 3-pound bag in the future, now that I have tried it. I have not tried it in baking, but just for coffee or things that need a touch of sweetness. There is a self-tamper-proof seal in place and the (two year out) expiration is clearly marked on the back of the package. I’m very happy with this.Read more

Notice the LARGE BOLD LETTERS that say “Monk Fruit” on the front of the package? See anything on the front of the package even mentioning it’s a blend? It has Erythritol? The MAIN ingredient is Erythritol NOT Monk Fruit- don’t get fooled like me! Look at ingredients!Read more

I’d say it is pretty good – I have gone through a few bags so far. I have negative/allergic reactions to most other sweeteners, and so I am usually quite aware when I eat one that isn’t authentic (including those labelled “monk fruit”), and I have not had any reactions to this. So I consider that a win! Mostly I use it for coffee, things like smoothies, cooking, or baked things that don’t require sugar as part of the structure (for instance, as a topping). I have tried to use it in baking but I didn’t feel the consistency came out the way I wanted, however, this is a common problem when using sweeteners in baking. It can be a bit grainy but also that is to be expected because of the erythritol. The brown sugar version was nice too although one might prefer the brown sugar version for specific uses (such as sweetening oatmeal). It is a bit pricey but it makes life easier so hey.Read more

Well i have mixed feelings about this item. I love that it all natural and is very good for you but the taste wasn’t the greatest for me. I am not sure if i will buy more until I’ve had a chance to try it in more foods. So far i have put it in my beverages, like tea and coffee and i didn’t care for the way it took over the flavor and changed it. I only used a half teaspoon in a cup. It also left a funny after taste in my mouth that made me not like to use it. But, I trying to find a substitute for Agave that i love the way it tastes so maybe im just not use to anything else. I can see myself trying to use it in cakes and pies to see how well i can tolerated it.Read more

Finally a sweetener that is just sweet and nothing else! My husband is diabetic and I follow a low carb lifestyle, so treats have generally been restricted to dark chocolate, berries and whipped cream with no sugar for several years now. My six year old son wanted ice cream for his birthday as well as banana cake. The banana cake I can make without any added sweetener, but not the icing and certainly not ice cream. After looking a bit I landed on this because a more scientific ice cream methods article said that a formula with erythritol would work well if it was combined with another, stronger sweetener that would help to reduce ice crystals, and monk fruit seemed like a good option. The ice cream turned out incredible! I only used 3/4 cups of this sweetener for a gallon of ice cream and the flavor was perfection! I am very used to less sweet things myself, but my six year old approved the mix before we froze it. Everyone loved it and couldn’t believe it wasn’t regular sugar. The cream cheese icing I made with it was also delicious! I put the sweetener in the food processor on its own to powder it before mixing in the other ingredients and it was perfect! As someone who generally avoids using sweeteners I can actually highly recommend this one.Read more

I tried several other products including Lakanto which to me has a funny aftertaste. Everyone has a different blend of taste buds and genes though and so I tried others. This to me is terrific sprinkled on fruit. I find it is sweetest blended in wet fruits and I have to use less. I also use it in hot tea, again less is better, but I prefer mildly sweet foods. I made very nice almond cookies the other day with Almond Flour and found that too sweet also. The next version with 2/3 of the monk fruit sugar recommended tasted much better. If you are interested I used the recipe on Anthony’s Almond Flour website.Read more

I disliked this substitute sugar because of stomach issues when I took it. I’ve spoke to other women who said it had the same effect on them. To bad otherwise It would have been great.Read more
