Great to use to treat the ground my dog is about to walk on. Paws are more sensitive then people realize and I want to keep my dog safe. I bought a 2nd to give to my local dog shelter for the same purpose. Gotta admit I syndromes use the laser to year my Lab. He loves to chase the red dotRead more

Worked great – while it worked (for 6 months). Now it only displays “Err” when trying to take a reading. It started giving off erroneously high readings (122 degrees instead of 74). I thought it might have been the battery failing so I replaced it with a brand new battery that I knew was good and it worked again for about another hour. Now, just reads “Err”. It was never dropped or abused – always kept inside (30% humidity/74 degrees).Read more

I use this thermometer mainly for making soap. I no longer have to have 2 or more thermometers in the work areas. When I first used it, I double checked it with my meat thermometer and the readings were exactly the same. My meat thermometer is good but the temperature fluctuates back and forth a degree or two. This gives me almost immediate temperature. I DO STIR my oils and my lye water a little so that I get a good internal temperature, but I had to do that with other thermometers. No clean-up needed.Read more

Since we are in a heat spell I thought I check on how our air conditioning is doing. Since my intake is so high we decided for the convenience we would purchase the Helect Non-Contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer. And boy are we pleased. Read on for our observations when using the Helect Thermometer. — ACCURATE: I read the difference between the AC intake and output should be a minimum of 14 deg F. At first I drug the ladder in the house, reached as high as I could to tape a analog thermometer on the intake and then the same thing on the output vent. We later compared those readings to the Helect Thermometer and saw the same temperature readings. We measured at other locations where a thermoter was already present such as the house thermostat, outside thermometer and great, we got the same readings everywhere! — LONG REACH: What a convenience to stand on the floor, point the thermoter whereever you need and get an accurate reading. In our case we made measurements up to 25ft away and found them to be accurate. — LOVE THE LASER: The laser is bright and easy to find, especially inside and really essential to be able to pinpoint the spot on which you need to measure. — COULDN’T BE EASIER TO USE: Just point, pull the trigger, position the laser dot on the area to measure and within 1 second you have a reading. When the trigger is held down the reading will continue to reflect the spot where the laser is, even when moving it side to side to make comparisons. CONCLUSION: Could be simpler to use and amazingly accurate. What a great value for such an incredible convenience!Read more

I got this thermometer for my soap making hobby. It is awesome. I don’t have to worry about cleaning off a thermometer anymore or dripping lye everywhere when I take it out or anything. And I only need one thermometer for the whole batch instead of having a separate one for the lye and the oils. I highly recommend it if you make soap. I imagine it would be good for applications like candy making as well (though I have not tried it for that.) Also, if you ever wonder if it really is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk you will have a way to find out! It is very easy to use, I got the hang of it after only a few minutes. I don’t know how it will hold up so I’m not going to comment on its durability just yet. Read the instructions first because this is not for taking the temperature of everything, and obviously you need to be careful with the laser.Read more

This Infrared Thermometer, does not work correctly, does not show the correct temperature, also i notice that when I stand up and move away from the surface I want to measure the temperature, it shows different temperature in the same area. it’s better to spend a little more and buy an Infrared Thermometer that’s worth itRead more

The build quality was nice and the unit looked decent. I installed the battery and tried it out on the wall beside the thermostat. The thermometer read about 9 degrees too low. I went outside where the temperature was 103 degrees. Pointing the thermometer at the driveway I expected something hotter than the air temp but again it read too low — 96 degrees. I put a pan on the stove and brought the water to a boil. The reading through the water to the bottom of the pan was less than 200 degrees with the water boiling. I returned the unit and am wondering if the more expensive versions are any more accurate.Read more

I bought this to measure the water coming out of the tap for water changes in my fish tank, as I’m tired of holding thermometers under the running water and for it to slowly react. Temp has to be at least close to tank temp so it doesn’t shock the inhabitants. This device came quickly, is very well put together, and works very well. I found I need to give it a little time to calibrate before releasing the trigger to get more accurate temps, but that’s fine. Hopefully it’ll last a while. It was cheap enough that if it last a few months then I’m satisfied. Only gripe is it came in a box being tossed around during shipping, as Amazon didn’t put any packing material in the box with it.Read more

It’s got a laser. It’s got a trigger. It’s in the shape of a gun. It’s a frickin LASER GUN! Pew pew pew! Measuring temperature has never been so much fun… Seems accurate too, but who cares, I just like running around the house shooting things with my LASER GUN!Read more

Easy to use and great value are the standout features. The accuracy seems to be in line with other devices I have but you do need to remember to multiply the displayed value by the emissivity value, which is provided in the user manual. In other words the reading displayed may be slightly higher than the actual temperature of the object you are measuring. All in all a great tool to measure temperature without having to contact the item. It is also very quick so you get fast results.Read more

I bought this as my tortoise was burying himself most of the time, unusual for this time of year. He wasn’t eating much and I was getting worried. I was able to discover that he was getting too hot as this thermometer allows me to take his temperature at shell height unlike my other enclosure thermometers. He started eating the very next day and has been out and about as he has in previous years since. I wish I’d bought this earlier. Ps I’m obsessed with checking the temperatures in his enclosure now and even when he is outside to make sure I’m looking after him as best as I can

Read more

Read more
