I received a small bag of this when I got my pup from the shelter. He seemed to enjoy it. When I bought the big bag on Amazon he seemed to get really loose stool with a HORRIBLE smell and he was not interested in eating it unless I mixed with wet food but then he stopped eating and I made him chicken and rice and he started eating again. I went back to this food and he will not eat .. I believe this food from Amazon is not the same. It does not even smell the same. I returned it. This was 30.00 ..I do not recommend this food purchase from Amazon.Read more

We have used this brand of food for our new puppies and all seemed well. BUT we opened and started the new bag and there was something wrong with that food. Like other reviewers have noted, the dogs had runny stools and had to go very frequently – several times a night. On top of that both dogs started vomiting violently in the evenings. After a few days of this we decided it might be the food and stopped feeding them from that bag and gave the completely different food. The issues cleared up immediately. I will not trust amazon as a source for this dog food any longer.Read more

This dog food is good. I keep ordering every month or a lil over(15.5 lbs) for my baby corgi. I trust this brand for the quality. However, they don’t have any other flavor for the dry food and after 3 months my puppy just stopped eating. I tried to give him the wet food from this brand too, he was eating good for the first 5 days and nothing after that. It was frustrating for me because I was having a hard time to get him to eat. So now I still give him this food but I mix it with a wet food(from another brand) that have many flavors. I wouldn’t recommend to stop giving your dog this dry food and only giving flavored wet food because puppies need so much nutrition within their first year. I would recommend you to mix and match for their food(wet, dry, and flavors). Sometimes I also try to heat up the dog food only until it’s warm(about 30-45s only with the microwave depending on the amount of food and the microwave itself. I hope it’s helpful for you all the dog’s momma out there❤️Read more

The puppy food appears to have everything needed but after my puppy started puking it up I read closer. There are a lot of preservatives in this food. It says chicken flavor, not chicken. Really, read the label. I’m not so sure it is as healthy for your puppy as it’s being presented. I will not be making a second purchase of this food.Read more

After buying grain free designer dogfood and even making food for our 2 Shihtzus and thinking I was doing a good thing, both of them died of degenerative heart disease. When our new vet for our new puppy asked what I fed him, he said change what we were feeding immediately and directed me to Tufts University vet nutrition website. They have recommended 5 dogfoods and Science is best. I’m so happy my dog is now eating science based rather than marketed designer dogfood!Read more

Recommended by our puppy’s breeder for the first year of his life. He seems to enjoy it and it does not upset his stomach. Will be switching to a grain-free food when he’s older (again, a recommendation from the breeder) but I feel fine giving this to him for the foreseeable future. He’s healthy and active so it seems as though the food is doing him well. I do supplement his diet with some wet food and a pumpkin/apple pectin mix to keep him regular.Read more

My puppy ( born June 2015 ) survived parvo and an intecessation surgery. He had an extremely sensitive stomach. I tried several grain free/very natural/very rxpensive brands, none of which he tolerated. I noticed several of the brands had wheat gluten in it or were made in china. This was the 6th brand and final. He has never thrown this up and his stools became solid within a week of starting this brand.Read more

This is what my dog was sent home with. She is a 4-month old Golden Retriever as of this review. The longer she was on this, her poo has been super hard to pick up and was yellowish-brown. She would go often and there came a point I had to put her on chicken and rice because she stopped going to the bathroom. Her coat has been super dull and I think it’s because of the lack of nutrients her body could not absorb. When I put her back on it, her poo was soft all over again. Many times she’d seem sluggish and recently she stopped doing things she enjoyed. She’s been having not-so-pleasant seizures in her sleep and it was hard to watch. I didn’t realize what was going on for months until it hit me when I thought about switching her over to cheaper and healthier dog food to see if that helped with her stools. When I switched to Purina Pro Plan, her poops are normal and she stopped eating so much grass and dirt. Her twitches in her sleep are mild now and seem normal. Hills brand offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee but since they don’t allow returns/refunds I had to to go the Amazon customer service to get a refund.Read more

Good things about this dog food is that my puppies loves it. I’ve tried 4 different puppy foods, so far this one is his favorite. Unfortunately, this gave my puppy colitis. I am sure it’s from a nice brand, and not every puppy will end up the same., but please be aware that if your dog has sensitive stomach. I don’t suggest your dog to try this. My puppy pooped every 2 hours for 2 days until there is flank blood in his bowel movement. It’s not fun to watch. And it also made him vomiting as well. I brought him to the vet hospital, vet said some puppy food can cause more heart burn than others. So we gave him some probiotic and slowly switched him off this puppy food, his colitis then was gone.Read more

Read more

Expensive and both my dogs hate it. Every couple of weeks I try to sneak some into their food dish, and they eat all their food — except the Hill’s Diet. For what this stuff costs, dogs should be gibbing it up like a BBQ’d steak.Read more
