The original cap was cross threaded and stuck due to bent and broken plastic threads. A broken thread had sliced the O ring during a regular filter change. The plastic nut was rounded off. I had to cut the cap with a hack saw blade to relieve the pressure and take it off using a pipe wrench. The billet cap replaced the original flawlessly. No leaks the first time. It goes on smooth and is easy to tighten. The cap is surprisingly heavy and feels solid. Uses 1 1/8 inch socket. Problems with your OEM cap? This is the answer. Filter worked as expected. I thought this was a quality product until it was time to change. THE FILTER GETS STUCK IN THE HOUSING and it took quite a bit to get it out. The diesel mechanic told me it is way too common if you stray from OEM. Happens all the time. Also the aluminum cap tends to leak. Mine doesn’t so they must do that well.Read more

I rate this Canister Housing Cap Replacement “average” as per my expectations. I was, however, disappointed with the workmanship – it was dinged in several places outside the threads and the threads were not cleaned thoroughly (sharp edges & cuttings). I can only hope it seals when I install it.Read more

Great product for reasonable money. Aluminum canister cover fit flawlessly and went on without any issues unlike factory plastic, which wanted to bind, not to mention the plastic lug (28 mm 6-point or 1 1/8) wanted to strip out. Put some white grease on threads and O-ring and cover seats perfectly. Thanks!Read more
