I love this little guy. It works very well for the price. The cord is long enough to let me move into the studio while I’m doing the online presentations. I used it so far with my laptop, a Macbook pro, a Samsung tablet, and my iPhone (with an adapter). Overall good sound and is very reliable. It worths every penny.Read more

This mini lav kit is wonderful and comes as a solid kit. It allowed me to record some small voice over talking for a video I made. I liked the sound and how easy it was to use.Read more

Got this for a traveling microphone, when I’m solo and need to be in meetings from hotel rooms, etc. I’ve only used it 3 times so far, for extended lengths of time (i.e. more than an hour on a Zoom call). The quality is good, and my voice comes through fairly rich and natural (as evidenced by what people say and what I can listen to in recordings of meetings). Quite sensitive in my experience, using an adapter on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7. Not a “rich” and clean sounding to my ear as large diaphragm condenser microphones I have, but good. Way better than your built-in microphone on a laptop or phone IMO. There are a LOT of lapel mics to pick from right now, hard for me to tell you where I place this in relation to the competition. I now own around 5 lapel microphones (used by various members of my family), and I put this in the top 2 of that group, but it’s also a few dollars more. I do recommend this mic – very high quality and versatile.Read more

I got this INSSTRO VM1 Lavalier Microphone for recording my kalimbas, as I wanted something that would capture their sound better than my smartphone alone. This mic works really well, has a nice long cord, comes with an end that works with my older iPhone, and has an adapter for other devices. If you are using this plugged into a smartphone, it works without the battery installed, eliminating the risk of acid leakage. Overall, very pleased with the quality of sound that this mic picks up, plus its ease of use. As the parent of kiddos with autism, there are causes near and dear to my heart. I’m very impressed with this affordable lavalier microphone from INSSTRO. I have 2 other lavalier mics at different price points and have just done a back to back comparison. The quality is as good as either of them. The raw sound is less compressed than the Rode Wireless Go (£170.00) and more on par with the Deity V.Lav (£53.00) and has slightly more gain than both. I would be tempted to clip this mid chest if you don’t have the option to reduce your input gain. There is a fuller sound from INSSTRO VM1 which some people may adjust in post processing if it is too much for them, depending on their voice/environment. My daughter has just used it to record a college presentation and it sounded excellent, much more ‘in the room’ than I expected. The capsule is a little bigger than the 2 mics mentioned above but comparable with others at this price point. The cable is very long at 6m, I can’t imagine needing a longer cable! In the box was a spare foam muff (to control plosives), a storage pouch and a cleaning cloth. The pouch looks like it may be shower/waterproof. Overall for £20 this is a massive upgrade in audio quality for your Zoom/Teams meetings and an affordable way to level up your vlogs/YouTube output. If I could make a suggestion to the manufacturers I would like a small dead cat instead of the spare foam muff, a small LED to remind me I’m using the battery (not needed when plugged into a smartphone) and a high pass filter… but then clearly it would cost more! Overall I would highly recommend this microphone.Read more

I was really impressed with the built quality of this mic. It really is robust. I liked the design on the clip and the fixture into which the mic itself pops in. It is solid. The cable is long enough to make a nice piece to camera with the considerable distance too. But I really liked about it was that there is a switch on the capsule – one option of that switch is camera (like your DSLR) and other is smartphone. All you need to do is just switch it to what you shoot on and that’s it. I love that simplicity. Overall I am very impressed with the sound quality recorded on both camera and smartphone. It is rich and crisp. I think this an absolute must have for any YouTuber or someone who does pieces to camera. Great value for money.Read more
