I purchased this rod to use for hanging blackout curtains on my sliding door from my kitchen to my deck to replace some old plastic blinds. The curtains are a bit thick and heavy and the rod holds them just fine over a six foot opening with no middle bracket – which I chose not to use even though one was provided. It’s well made and comes with good hardware which made it a snap to install. It has been in place for a few weeks now and gets a lot of use and the rod is still rock solid. This was nice and simple so I ordered two for my bedroom. For some reason, they shipped separately and on different days. Didn’t open them until it was time to install them and that’s when I saw they had different ends pieces. Because of the way my bedroom is set up you don’t really notice and it was not worth sending back. I’m not going to dock a point for the mismatch because Amazon shipped it and this mismatch is on them, not the seller. I will say that these rods are packed so well it was a major undertaking to open the boxes up. The rod itself has a good weight to it and went up fine. I’m happy overall and would buy again.Read more

We swapped endcaps with another set we have which is for a smaller window. That’s because the endcaps are almost equal in width to the bar. This means it’s not really possible to hide the brace by putting one grommet of the curtain on one side of the brace and the the rest toward the window. The grommets of the drapes just slide off, because the endcaps are too small. If you don’t care about hiding the brace, then technically this works because the brace itself will hold the drape in place, however, when you go to put the bar on the braces, you’ll have to be careful or the drapes will slide off the bar. Basically it’s a bit of a hassle to install because of the endcap issue. However,it’s sturdy and good otherwise. Keep in mind that if you live in an apartment and your walls must be white, getting a black drape bar will really stand out visually. You might want to consider a white one or at least gold/silver/brass.Read more
