I was able to play with each to find the character of each pick and narrow down my selection to just the three that I like for different effects. It is surprising how a subtle difference in material and/or thickness can affect the tone. It also affects where one picks the strings, how hard, and at what angle. I also found that when I changed strings to a different brand I had to change picks to match. It was well worth the small investment in this set to be able to figure out the right picks for what I play.Read more

Definitely for beginners unless you are a beginner with giant hands. My son ordered these because he is just starting to learn guitar and did not consider his size as well. At 6’5 with Andre the Giant hands, he thought “beginner” also meant one size fits all beginners. While I think it is cute and funny watching him play with a pick that looks like it was made for a doll, he doesn’t find it as funny or cute. My younger son uses these instead and they are a perfect fit and much easier to hold. The search for super large picks has begun.Read more

I bought this pick set because even though I have been playing guitar for 40 years, I’ve never played with a pick. I just played classical or finger picked keeping my nails longer! Soo… I finally decided to learn to use a pick. I had gotten 3 picks as freebes from Strings and Beyond and found the lightest one the best. I am a materials expert so wanted to try a variety of pick material stiffnesses and thicknesses. This6assortment of 12 is a great assortment. Found 3 picks that actually improve my playing. Herc 50 flex, Nylon .6mm and Cellulous .6mm. BUY This Dunlop kit and try them all. See what suits you!!Read more

This thing seems to be assortment of all the brands out there. There are a few Jim Dunlops in there but the thickness is also random. I am a beginner and I needed the thinnest ones, like .38 mm. The least ones were .60 mm. There are all kinds of random thicknesses. It seems to be hand picked in random. But, since its quite inexpensive so I guess its worth it.Read more

This is a nice assortment of guitar picks. There are actually six different varieties of pick in the package that vary by thickness and material. Each pick is labeled so you can tell them apart. I’m not a professional musician, so I cannot perceive much difference between them, but a professional likely could. For my purposes, they work well with my acoustic guitar, and they are not expensive at all. I’m pleased with them.Read more

You can always tell quality and when you open the packet you’ll see these are proper picks, plectrums, whatever you call them. There’s no comparison between these and the ‘100 picks for a fiver’ brigade. Just don’t bother, get these. You get a selection pack of picks of varying thickness and flexibility to test and see which ones suite your style, guitar or mood. You’ll probably find a few you really like with a particular guitar and you’ll be know to order more of those specific ones in future. So this is a good introduction to the range of Dunlop picks which is useful if you’re really not sure which Dunlop puck suits, or if you want a variety of picks to play different instruments or styles. Dunlop have been making picks for a long time so support a quality brand and you’ll receive a great product.Read more

I love Gibson guitars but Wow the price of 1 Gibson pick is the price of 12 Dunlop! Seem ideal to me, good selection of thick, medium, thin Etc, ideal for this beginner to figure out which ones he prefers to play with. Good price at about 5.50 ….free next day delivery cos I have Prime right now, it’s a good deal over the winter months because for £7.99 for Prime ya get free next day delivery on lots of items, Plus loads of good movies and documentaries Etc on Prime Video, if your signed up to Prime download the Prime Video App on ya phone and get lots of free movies on Prime Video. Many have a rental price but lots of good movies are Free! I have a Smart TV with WiFi so I watch them on that but you can also download the App on ya phone to watch them if ya signed up to Prime. I was recently signed up for Sky movies on Now TV for the offer price of £5.99 a month, cancelled it …..Wow it’s Full of the same old moves they had on a year or so ago. Also cancelled Now TV Entertainment Pass, I was getting it at the offer price of £1.80 a month, that was a great deal but they won’t give it to me again cos I’m had it for 6 months I guess. £1.80 a month was good even though it’s Full of repeats …..I basically only wanted it for the Discovery Channel on there. Noooooo way I’m paying the regular price of £9.99 for it, Now TV has a few new things on but anyone who has experience of Now TV will know it’s also FULL of repeated stuff, or should I say things that have been on there Years! I still watch Sky News on it and over the past few days as I’ve clicked on now and again I’ve see Only Fools and Horses on the Gold channel under Sky News channel, I thought OMG if they show Only Fools & Horses again they will wear them out! I love the show but talk about flogging a dead horse, No pun intended ….. LOLRead more

I’ve always used Jim Dunop picks and never been let down and nothing was different here. A good variety of picks at a good price and should be something to suit all players and styles from beginners upwards. Good if you’re not sure what works for you and you want to test them out. Durability shouldn’t be an issue as I’m sure I’ve misplaced picks way before they could ever break!Read more
