Several doctors over the last few years, countless appointments, 3 skin biopsy, missed work…..all that and finally with only one picture with this camera and I had a diagnosis. Ok so I gave it lower for picture quality because it really depends on what you are plugging this scope into. My phone gave amazing pictures while it was plugged in. For the price I paid I honestly wasn’t expecting to get a great scope but man this is a amazing portable scope. For real, this thing is terrible!! Stand topples over CONSTANTLY. The arm that holds the camera comes loose for no reason despite tightening and camera won’t stay up. The whole stand and arm mechanism is so unstable if you even breath on it, it comes out of focus. Then it takes FOREVER to refocus it because it shakes and wiggles everytime you touch it at all. I gave it a few days of use thinking that there might just be a learning curve. Wrong. It somehow got worse and worse probably because of the horrible stand. It does NOT magnify as advertised. There is no way this thing gets better that 80x. Compatibility is not as universal as advertised. The instructions told me to download SEVEN apps and try each to see which worked. All of them had ads that would bust through while I was text messaging or browsing the web even if the app was closed. I seriously regret this purchase. Hi people this demonic little artefact is quite the eye opener. It obviously works fine I have a S9 android device I don’t use my PC it’s 2018. All I had to do was download this one app from the play store called “otg view” but play a little won’t hurt there’s many apps. The importance is that you or anyone using a type C non Iphone to connect to a GALAXY S8 and above use the original type c adapter that came with your phone because the one that came with this device didn’t work on my S9 galaxy android phone. I did panick a little but I remembered I had two original like you see in the photo. There’s two things that I wish it could improve in one is the fact that you have to pretty much almost come in contact with whatever you want to see wich is very uncomfortable and secondary is the fact that in going through the getting real the rotation to zoom in and out can be really hard to turn. (I used a tiny splash of WD40 and it turns easily) but other than that I think for the price it is a must to have, if you want to learn that is somethings, im learning remain hidden because none of us are willing to look, don’t be lazy and happy observing.Read more

Bought this to view coins for errors. Total waste of money. On a Half Dollar coin you can only see one letter as it won’t focus if you hold it further away. You can’t lay the coin down because the base of scope is small and lightweight causing whole thing to tip over forward when you try to point the scope downward. On smaller coins it won’t focus to magnify, I see them better using a regular magnifying glass which defeats the purpose. The instruction disk is not regular CD/DVD size. It’s very small and will not feed into my machine so I had to pull out the old computer with the Rom that has a slide out drawer to ensure I was using the scope correctly. I’m using it correctly, it’s just that this is a poor design. The instructions show a picture of this scope’s base being attached to a larger base but there wasn’t a larger one provided. Even if there was, it wouldn’t help the focus or too narrow view problems. The only good features are the flashlight that is bright and the fact it’s portable. The CAM doesn’t work either. Too bad I waited until I had a bunch of coins to look at before trying this out because I definitely would have returned it. Now I’m out the money I wasted on it but I learned my lesson.Read more

I bought this microscope to study coins. I had a tough time getting it to work for my Essential PH-1 phone and contacted the company. They sent a copy of the programs and asked me to load onto a computer with step by step instructions. Since I didn’t have a computer, I couldn’t perform the instructions. A few days later, I got a new cell phone with TMobile, the One Plus 7 Pro. I switched on the OTG Storage button, plugged in the microscope into the phone (note: take off the phone case) using the USB C adapter. The microscope works perfect. Since I had the microscope working oh the 7 pro, I don’t need to try to install on the Essential phone. After a few days, Jiusion contacted me again asking if I tried on the computer. I told them I didn’t cause it works with my new phone. What company follows up with you on your purchases. Not many that I have had contact with over the years. Jiusion is so customer friendly that I will purchase more items from them in the future and will do so before any other company offering the same items.Read more

For anyone that works on repairing delicate and tiny electrical components knows that proper tools make a daunting repair more manageable. I needed to repair some bent CPU socket pins and tried it with a magnifying glass and my cell phone camera. After not getting good clear magnification from those, I did some research and found this USB microscope. Reading the description made it the perfect tool to match the task I had at hand. After using this it made an overwhelming repair easier. I did have issues with focusing and the stand but once I had it set to where I needed it, this provided a clear picture to the work area. The kids also enjoyed seeing things like coins and even fibers of a piece of paper showing them that what looks smooth may not be. Definitely would buy again.Read more

Unfortunately I cannot trust all the 5 star reviews as I’ve just bought this microscope and discovered on the company website they will send you a free stand if you give them a 5 star rating and review and send them a screenshot of it. Very dishonest. As far as the actual microscope goes it is average quality, average value, nothing outstanding and nothing rubbish. Easy to use, but definitely NOT 5 stars.Read more

This is a Chinese toy . I have only got the software working by hacking it. It doesn’t work out of the box. When I tried to run the application on a powerful Windows 10 machine it hung. The software should have created two directoriess on installation. It didn’t. I had to do it manually.. I was given my first microscop[e on my 10th birthday and since then have used various microscopes extensively. doin ‘A’ levels , a Zollogy degree and then teaching biology in a secondary school for many years. I have just tried looking at some of the sides I did at university. I haven’t tried measuring the magnification but it isn’t 1000x or anything like it. Looking at slides =of cancer metastisis I can’t see individual cells. The software kept cominng up with exception errors. Only video works. The picture ion screen is fixed in size. For £20 one can’t expect much and one doesn’t get it. One does however expect the software to work and the instructions to match the software. Buy at your peril.Read more

I bought this for soldering custom printed circuit boards with tiny surface mount components. It’s been absolutely invaluable for checking solder bridges between terminals. The kids have also had a lot of use out of it looking at organic matter. They’re never going to eat cookies ever again! I would have given it 5 stars but it can be difficult to get the focus right – you have to turn the ring, but it’s quite stiff and as the stand isn’t very rigid you end up moving the camera so the thing you’re trying to focus on is no longer in the same place. Value for money though is easily 5 stars.Read more

I’d already purchased a similar microscope and a friend wanted one too. The one I purchased wasn’t in stock so I went for this as apart from a lack of Wi-Fi it has similar specs. It arrived in a carry pouch and not a box but you could argue that it’s more ecologically friendly that way. However it just does not work on 3 different machines. Have tried installing the software and it never runs but uses up the CPU power. Tried on a laptop – same issue. Tried it without software – still nothing. Even tried USB 2 and USB 3 ports. Nope. You may have better luck – some people here have but there’s also a handful like myself who have nothing. I ordered anyway because usually I’m on the side of the majority with items like this but today on 2 different Win 10 machines and a Win 7 I’m getting nothing with this so sending it back.Read more

I bought this for a Christmas present it arrives without any packaging whatsoever simply in the case that it is supposed to come in. I thought this was a mistake (as did the amazon customer services person I spoke to) -Amazon sent me another and it was exactly the same. So, I sent it back and ordered the same product without the carrying case. Its considerably cheaper and was altogether more gift worthy. The carrying case really is very cheap and certainly not worth the premium. As a gift the cheaper boxed product without the carrying case is much better. I was told by the recipient of the microscope that the product is fun although magnification at x 1000 doesn’t focus. Works really well to x 50 but beyond this he said that it won’t focus. Having said that it does allow you to look at loads of stuff really close up. Great for working on circuit boards or having fun with the kids looking at insects and plants. Fun to take photos of what you are looking at for school projects.Read more
