It’s great!! The wood is supposed to cover the word so a child can try to spell it without seeing the answer (this is in reference to another review!) it’s made correctly- it’s supposed to be similar to boggle jr ❤️Read more

My son loves “activities” and we love to keep him off of screens. This activity is perfect for his stage of reading- he cannot quite recognize words by sight but he knows all of his letters well and is learning to put them together to spell words. He is very proud that he is able to spell words with this without having to have the patience it takes to write out letters. It’s great for in the car, too. The only negative I have on this product is that the word on the card is hidden in the slot if you place it in fully. In this photo I have just the edge in the slot. Nice feature if your kid already knows the word spellings- you can hide the word and spell it out with the cubes. My son usually just sets the card to the side and spells the word. The boxes for the blocks to go into is perfect for kids like him that need things to go in their place.Read more

The SNAKE is labeled as a WORM, even on the pictures outside of the box its labeled wrong. Someone that actually knows the English language should have reviewed them before they printed hundreds of them. Spelling toys/games need to be double checked to avoid confusing kids. Other than the 1 card, it seems like a good set. Really the only way to fix this now is to find a worm sticker or print a picture of a worm and glue it on top of the snake. Haven’t tried spelling out all the words yet, hopefully there are no other issues with the letter blocks. The wood box is sturdy but it doesn’t have a lid and it comes in a cardboard box which will eventually become a throw away.Read more

I had high hopes for this for my pre-schooler. Overall, I felt it was worth keeping, and with a few simple modifications I think it would be perfect. Problem 1 – the holder for the cards has a pre drilled groove where you insert the card. It’s too deep, so the card falls down into the holder and cuts off the word the child is supposed to be spelling. Frustrating for a 4-year old. I ended up just putting the card on the floor and not using the holder at all. Problem 2 – The writing on the cards has a very “Asian” flare so my son did not recognize certain letters like W, for instance. The lettering on the cards also don’t match the lettering of the blocks, making it even more confusing for the child. Overall, I like the concept and of these few simple modifications were made, it would be great.Read more

I just opened this and I’m slightly disappointed. The cards were all over the place —not in a neat package. Great concept but this set was poorly made. The slot to hold the cards is too deep so the Words do not show. I’ll have to place it in on a slant. AND….. Some of the letters are too light in color So I will have to darken them myself. This was obviously returned by someone else. I actually read the positive reviews before ordering and that usually helps me make my decision. This time those reviews didn’t help because I received defective merchandise.Read more

I got this as a cheaper version of one I saw in a Facebook ad. My 4 yro kids really enjoy finding the letters on the blocks and cheering when they finish a word. If you put the cards in the slot, the word is covered, and I believe this is by design for when they are older. Not all the blocks are the same; there are some situations where the same letter is on two blocks and you have to use a specific block so you have another letter available, and that is probably by design as well. There is a spelling/grammar mistake on the box ironically; it says “Learning Marching Letter.”Read more
