The game itself is relatively fun, although it is impossible to guess many of the dance moves just by watching the prompts. You need to actually study even relatively easy dances in order to be able to anticipate the sequences. That being said, it can be a lot of fun, particularly in groups. There are two reasons I’m giving this 1 star. The main issue I have with the game is the horrifically greedy pricing model imposed by Ubisoft. The game comes with 40 songs. They’re all pretty much current pop songs. If you don’t enjoy Justin Bieber, Cardi B, and Ariana Grande, then you’ll prefer songs from the “Unlimited” selection, which adds several hundred more, from a much more diverse set of musical genres. It adds songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and more. But… this comes at a cost. If you’re not happy with a handful of current pop songs, you need to get the “Unlimited” subscription. You get 1 month with the purchase of the game. After that, you have to pay. A year’s subscription is $25, which doubles the price of the game. Shorter subscription periods are available, down to 24 hours at $4 (which is a bizarre pricing, since 1 month is $4.99). Worse, the game harasses you with commercials until you buy a subscription. Some of these commercials cannot be skipped, and repeat every time you start a new game. Additionally, it doesn’t seem to remember my username and password, so I have to re-enter it every time I play. I find using a game controller to enter a username and password frustrating in the best of times; having to do it every time in order to play is inexcusable. The second issue is that the game is almost unplayable for kids. This may be more of an issue with the camera than the game, but my son and his friends love the game, but keep getting frustrated because the game seems fundamentally unable to keep track of kids. It is a challenge to get the camera to recognize children players, but adults are recognized fine. It may be an issue of lighting, since the instructions provide some suggestions I could not try (I am not willing to rearrange my entire living room and install flood lights). We had this issue at both my home, and our friends’ home, so apparently the bright spotlighting recommended is not typically found in a living room.Read more

I bought the game for my girls after they saw frozen 2 and $30 it was ok. It was good in the beginning but after playing at my parents inlaw house on an other ps4 for the kids, I find out that if you don’t have internet connection the frozen 2 song isn’t on the list! A lot of song for garbage and you have only few songs available.Everything else work only on unlimited but the price is way too high, and you pay a game for play not for a billing every month, and paying for a year it’s almost close to the price of the game, they are crazy.Read more

We are OBSESSED with Just Dance, both at my house and my high schoolers where I teach. My 12 year old LOVES dancing along, and bonus alert:::: he is getting exercise while doing it! He needs the exercise. We paired it with the PlayStation Camera and it works perfectly. The songs are amazing! We also went ahead and did a 30 day trial of the Just Dance Unlimited. Sad to say my very favorite “That’s what makes you beautiful” by OneDirection isn’t on there. Sad.Read more

It’s a really nice game to enjoy with family, but in the end you end up paying for unlimited which will increase the cost of the game plus updates of course which require memory. Other than that you have a blast with the family, works with camera, phone and ps Move controllers.Read more

Fantastic gameplay, which I have used my move controllers and camera with. Unlimited is also something to consider as it contains songs from years past 500+ at $25/yr. a great add-on once you master the 40 songs in this edition of Just Dance. Online is also a lot of fun, real time comparisons.Read more

Pretty disappointing you need to pay for a subscription to get most songs. Why even buy the newest edition if you have to pay for 85% of songs?Read more

I’ve played all JD games so far and this one is definitely not the best. However it has some good songs and along JD Unlimited, you get most of JD library. If you are an enthusiast of the saga, get it. Otherwise, stick with previous versions.Read more
