The 2-pack of Bayer K9 Advantix II flea and tick prevention for medium dogs is a broad-spectrum, veterinarian-recommended dog flea and tick prevention that also kills and repels mosquitoes, a benefit not found in many other flea and tick products. Some products require a flea or tick to bite your dog in order to work, but K9 Advantix II flea and tick prevention for dogs is a topical formula that works through contact, so your dog doesn’t have to endure a painful bite for the flea, tick or mosquito to die. Just one application of Bayer K9 Advantix II flea and tick prevention for medium dogs starts working to kill fleas within 12 hours, is waterproof after 24 hours, and continues to work to kill fleas, ticks and mosquitoes for up to 30 days, even after a bath or swimming. We recommend the use of a grooming shampoo designed specifically for pets. Do not use K9 Advantix II on cats. Use only on dogs.

BEWARE!!!!! This product is not a safe product. I wish I actually read the reviews instead of only looking at the amount of stars for this product, super bad on my part. Within an hour of application our 23 pound cockapoo starting getting very red and itcy at site of the medicine. Called the 1800 # which no one answered, thought it was an emergency # for after hours. We washed off the med and gave her benadryl for allergic reaction, but she then started with symptoms of holding her head in a strange pattern, also at rest she was flinching. Called again in the morning and we were told to wash her several times with Dawn dishwasher detergent to strip away the med, but by then it was too late and already well into her system. We called the vet who told us he has had many animals come in with neurological condtions from these type of flea/tick meds but did not ever hear of permenant nerurological deificits. She is slowly getting better like the vet said she would, (we are on day #5 since using the med) we are praying she does not have any long term effects. Now that I have read the reviews this med should be taken off the market or at the minimum a better warning label about the supposed rare reactions with a live 1800 person stating to wash off the med with Dawn instead of regular dog shampoo. PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT TREATING YOUR DOG FOR FLEAS/TICKS WITH THIS MEDICATION.Read more

After doing research I felt like I was buying a safe and reliable product for my one year old dog, I bought the appropriate dosage according to my dogs weight and applied correctly. My dog began rubbing her back and trying to get this medication off (I assumed this to be a normal pet reaction to something being put on them at first), which turned into her panting excessively, itching, red spots, lack of appetite, lethargy and lack of coordination. She only could take a few steps at a time. I bathed her with Dawn dish soap to try and remove all the chemicals and began trying to get her to drink water. 48 hours later she was still having an adverse reaction to this so I gave her half a benadryl which temporarily helped with the itching until the Benadryl wore off. 72 hours later my dog is still itching and having motor control issues, the more people I spoke to with dogs or forums I read I repeatedly saw people who had the same issues with their dogs. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR YOUR PET. THERE IS A HUGE CHANCE THEY WILL NOT RESPOND POSITIVELY TO IT.Read more

We’ve used Bayer Advantix II on our dog for 2 years now and we’ve never had a flea issue. There actually is a little dog in our neighborhood who frequently wanders into our yard and, bless his heart, he was just riddled with fleas. My dog would play with him on a weekly basis, and we never had any transferring of fleas to our dog. We ultimately ended up treating the other dog with flea drops as well because he was just so miserable. When I say he was infested, I mean you could literally see them crawling on him and jumping, and the little guy was just biting and scratching constantly. They were even on his little face. It was awful. I treated him with this Bayer Advantix II when he was hanging around our house one night and when he wandered into our yard the very next day, about 13 hours later to be exact, the fleas were all dead! I would say maybe a week or two after that, we noticed he had stopped scratching completely. So his bites must’ve all healed, and regular flea checks showed he was completely pest free! Cheaper brands (Hartz, for example) are a complete waste of money. They’re not effective. And the prescription brands (such as Comfortis and Trifexis) are great, totally effective, and have the added benefit of heart worm prevention, but if your budget doesn’t allow for that, I would urge you to consider Advantix II. It’s gentle, my dog has never had any ill side effects, and it’s super effective. There’s no smell, it dries/soaks into your dog’s coat within a few hours, and it lasts an entire month. I mark down (using provided stickers) the dates we treat our dog with Advantix, and there have been plenty of times where I was a week or two late (whoopsie!), but we’ve still never had any issues of my dog picking up fleas. Anyway, I highly recommend. It’s a great product.Read more

This product did not work as I’d hoped. After applying it my dog began scratching the area and seemed miserable. I figured it was because it felt wet to him and didn’t think much about it. After 2 days of occasional scratching i thought he was getting better. The following morning I noticed a patch of matted dried-on drainage from the application site. I bathed him with Dawn to get off the residue and shaved him so I could apply Neosporin at my veterinarians suggestion. After 3 more days he finally seems to be healing and feeling better. My dog was obviously sensitive to something in the formula. I have used other brands without any issues.Read more

I used this on my previous dog for years and he never had a flea. Got a new puppy two years ago and switched from Frontline to K9 Advantix earlier this summer (because it worked so well in the past, and includes mosquito protection). Since it worked so well for my previous dog, I assumed it would work. It does not. At all. My dog picked up a nightmare of a flea infestation two weeks after the last application. The fleas are biting him because he has bites all over him, but they are NOT dying from the K9 Advantix. I’m so disappointed and at my wits end with these little pests. If you want to keep fleas at bay, skip K9 Advantix and find something else. I wish I could return the remaining product instead of tossing it in the trash.Read more

Read more
