We bought these hoping they would help keep our dogs in bed through the night. We have two Jack Russell terriers who are up and down a few times a night. We were into our second bottle of them and still didn’t think they seemed to be helping enough, if at all. The other day, one or both of the dogs got ahold of the bottle while we weren’t home, chewed it open, and ate all the pills (most of a bottle). We had to watch the dogs for signs of overdose, such as sleepiness and lethargy. They weren’t even slightly sleepy from it! Now, I don’t want my dogs to OD, but if these contained an absorbable, therapeutic amount of melatonin, I think we would have seen at least a little bit of sleepiness. Nada.Read more

Read on Internet that canine melatonin helps regrow hair on dogs, but not to expect it to happen quickly. I ran the info past my vet. She researched and told me correct dose for my 8 lb. dog. It worked much faster than I expected. I am so pleased. He loves the taste — I smash it up in his food. I had given up hope but would recommend as I don’t think it would hurt to try if you know the right dose and vet says it’s ok. I believe it works toward their immune system.Read more

We have two very hyper dogs who never realized it was time for the day to end. When I saw this product, I asked my Vet about it and he encouraged me to give it a try. They actually do settle the dogs down and get them prepared for bed. I’d recommend them and will buy more as needed. Item shipped promptlyRead more

My 17 year old dachshund loves this melatonin. He had been having issues with wakefulness at night which in turn disrupts my sleep and that is no good! After doing some research I decided to try this product. I started with 1 tablet offering it to him in my hand. He wouldn’t take it so I hid it in a piece of treat. One tablet seemed to have no effect. I increased to 2 tablets after a few days and he still had wakefulness. I tried 3 tablets(which is the maximum dose suggested on the bottle for small dogs)and that seems to be working. He generally will sleep for most of the night only getting up once to go potty. He has also started taking the tablets without having to hide them in food or treats. I read some reviews that say they stink. I don’t think they do. They smell like beef bullion to me.Read more

Our 15 year old beagle starting waking us up multiple times during the night, causing for many sleepless nights. Our vet thinks she may be getting K9 dementia and has her on a prescription dementia medication which wasn’t really helping her sleep better at night. So, we purchased these melatonin pills. We give her two about an hour or so before bed and she’s been doing much better, at worse, only waking up once during the night. Most nights, she sleeps through. And she loves the taste of these. These have really saved us!Read more

My mini dachshund is a Black and Tan pup. He was losing fur around the ears and on his chest. Someone suggested melatonin can help to fix this issue so I asked my vet. I am currently giving him 2mg daily over 3 months according to my vets instructions. Two months later all of his fur in his chest is back and it is slowly growing back around his ears as well. I’m not saying it’s a guarantee but it has worked in this case and definitely worth reading about for alopecia.Read more

I believe this is a good melatonin choice for dogs. It seems to have helped my dachshund, who has Cushings, calm down during the day and sleep better at night. However, it’s not the end all and be all for relief from CUSHINGS. There are other substances that can be combined with melatonin for a more comprehensive treatment plan of attack for this disease. Just consult trusted sources on the internet (if your dog has CUSHINGS) and you will see other supplements to add to your dogs Cushings treatment, along with Melatonin. Lignan supplements are one of the other items you can combine with melatonin to help your dog manage this disease. To sum it all up though – I’m satisfied with this purchase and the results.Read more
