Dark roast coffees are hit or miss with K-cups. They’re often too bitter or just too weak. I’m impressed with this brand, both this Dark Roast style and a Medium-Dark that I also tried. I think the Dark Roast especially lives up to expectations as both an intense flavor and no bitterness and a good coffee scent and taste. I drink coffee black with no sugar so I really need a strong flavor for most satisfaction. I’m willing to compromise and I do have lots of K-cups lying around, but this brand is a good go-to and it quickly stood apart. I like how smooth it is, where you get the coffee bite but without the acidic aftertaste. It’s smooth and dense the way a solid dark roast needs to be. The price point is on the higher end, but that’s fair and I feel like the quality matches. If you’re like me and you want strong flavor where the coffee flavor is the star, this Kahwa brand is worth a try!Read more

These “Kahwa Coffee Roaster Cubano K-cup pods (24count)” are good, strong, solid, flavorful, and nice finish. This Cubano is an espresso blend, and it is a Cuban-style coffee, a dark roast, with a robust flavor profile. Made in USA by Kahwa coffee roasters in St. Petersburg, Florda, which had been in the coffee business since 2006. I enjoyed these pods even with a larger volume brew, like a 12oz brew; many other K-cups I had used before, will be way too watered down with this brew volume, but this Kahwa Cubano held up just fine, and it is actually very enjoyable. And I even drink it black, the way I liked it. Overall, this coffee is good; it is just a not cheap, $20 for 24 of these, coming out to be like 83c each. But I guess, when it come to wanting to do large volume brew, there weren’t too many that works as well as this, so in that aspect, I think it is worth the premium. Because I like strong coffee, I’m picky about my K-cups since even most “dark roast” kinds aren’t intense enough for my tastes. This Kahwa Coffee Cuban blend doesn’t quite make it to a five-star effort; to me, it tastes more like a medium-dark roast. It’s smooth, with good flavor, but is lacking that intensity I expect of a dark roast coffee — and that I would expect of Cuban coffee. — Debbie Lee WesselmannRead more

Although it’s not as strong as we thought it would be, my wife and I both enjoyed the Kahwa Cubano style coffee. The pods fit perfectly into our Keurig, giving us a bold tasting coffee to drink black. The box reads that it would be good for expresso or café con leche, but we don’t think its strong enough for that. However, it is good coffee. Taking all this into consideration, we would recommend it as a great coffee to start the day off.Read more

I am always skeptical to try new pods, as I am pretty set on my Dark Magic and Italian Roast. That all changed when I received these pods to try. First of all, I love a cup of true Cuban coffee. The real deal. This, of course, is not that. However, it is a good second if you are using pods. These pods fit the Keurig, no problem. It is rich and bold but not bitter at all. Once you add some cream, you have got a good cup of Cuban coffee. Unfortunately, I took off one star because every cup you prepare will cost you 83 cents. I aim to pay no more than 53 cents per cup.Read more

Dark roast is my preference and this Cubano variety k-cup did not disappoint. The taste is full-bodied, well-balanced, intense and smoky. Since no guidance regarding brewing was provided I prepared both a 6 ounce and an 8 ounce cup and to my taste the 8 ounce was best with the 6 ounce being almost too strong but this is subjective. I experienced no misfires with the four k-cups I prepared in my basic machine. To estimate shelf-life the Best By date at the time of this review in June 2021 is 11 months in the future but dates will vary. Dark, complex and delicious.Read more

This Cubano coffee tastes like home. It has a strong but smooth and warm flavor, that reminds me of the traditional coffee we drink in Puerto Rico and throughout the Caribbean. It has a nice flavor profile, without any bitterness, so creamers or even syrups go well with this, if that’s your vibe. I personally have drank this coffee hot, black & unsweetened, hot, with milk and sugar, and I’ve also made it as an iced coffee with milk, and another time with cinnamon dolce flavored creamer. Every which way I make my morning cup using this Cubano style coffee, I’ve been quite happy with the outcome. 100% recommend!Read more
