I received this cover yesterday and read my Oasis with it on for several hours last night. As exepcted, the wake/sleep function worked perfectly. I was surprised at how lightweight it is: at 111 grams it is actually 8 grams lighter that the first official Amazon case that was discontinued. Unlike that first case it fully covers the back of the Oasis. When open, it folds completely around the back of the reader, making it much easier to hold the Oasis even while lying in bed. My favorite way to hold it while reading is with the Oasis lightly resting in my palm, with my thumb in front near the buttons so I can easily change pages, my index finger between the two covers, and the other three fingers resting on the back cover. It works great whether I’m holding my Oasis in my right hand or left. Those readers who prefer to use the Oasis without a cover will be pleased to know that it can easily be removed from this cover (unlike the Paperwhite and its official cover). Personally, I found the metal back of the Oasis cold and difficult to hold while lying down so I’ve been forced to rely on third-party covers up until now but have ultimately been disappoined in their defects or lack of durability. I only wish Amazon had released this cover last year; it would have saved me quite a bit of money I ended up spending on subpar alternatives!Read more

I love my new cover. I love that the whole Oasis is protected and it can’t fall out. It’s very comfortable to hold, and I don’t miss feeling the cold metal back now that the weather is turning wintry. I have the gold Oasis, so I’m pleased I can still see the gold along the top and bottom cut outs, and around the screen edge. I had the original blue water safe cover, and that was scratchy, but this one feels quite a bit nicer, and I love the nice bright red color. I also had the original brown leather cover, which was pretty nice, but my Oasis did fall out of it and dropped four feet to the floor, so I never felt very safe using that cover after that happened. This one is perfect for me. I have used it while reading in the bath, and it was good to be able to place my Oasis on the side of the bath and know that it was safe in its cover. I used to read in the bath when I used the leather cover, but would have to use the device bare, therefore slippy, and I would always be worried about it slipping onto the floor and breaking. It’s also much more comfortable reading in bed with this cover. Easy to cradle in the hand or rest on its side. I don’t feel the need to take the Oasis out of this cover at all, which surprises me. This cover has really transformed my use of the Oasis.Read more

This Kindle Cover is overpriced for what it is while Target stores carry the same covers for half the cost. When the cover is opened it makes the kindle harder to hold in one hand. This cover does not allow the kindle to stand on its own so you have to hand hold the kindle or prop it against something to read it without holding it. If I had to do it over again I would not have bought this kindle cover and saved myself the money. Best Regards.Read more

I just bought my second Kindle and so this is my second Kindle cover. (Obviously, I am not someone who likes change!) My previous Kindle had a lovely leather cover that I visually and tactilely admired every time I picked it up, so I was sure I wanted leather for this one also, initially. However, besides the price difference giving me pause, I realized that since my Kindle was waterproof, my cover should be. So far I have not regretted this choice. This cover is hard and rough, but when folded back, as you read, it has a smooth, soft feel. The roughness does gather lint in a purse, but it is fairly easily brushed off and the cover is attractive otherwise. I got the charcoal which is smart and professional looking to my eye. I love the magnetic closure and the way the Kindle “wakes” when it is opened. I thought my reading-in-the-tub days were over years ago when I started needing reading glasses that steamed up (not to mention, I ruined a lot of books), but with my new waterproof Kindle set, I discovered that I can increase the font size and have that old pleasure back. What an unexpected benefit!Read more

This case is Awesome! It feels great in the hand, and looks very cool. The texture is a great balance of soft and rough. It’s not intrusive. Even though it is a fabric case, it looks and feels premium. Very happy I decided to purchase this over the leather case. What I love the most is how skinny the cover is and how minimal the entire case is. It doesn’t add any bulk! I find reading with this case is much more comfortable than reading without it, especially in bed or when laying on a couch or other furniture. Get this case! It’s a must have accessory for every kindle Oasis owner. (Accidentally uploaded same picture twice but for some reason amazon won’t let me delete it)Read more

I upgraded to the oasis from a 2nd gen paperwhite. I never got use to the way the oasis felt in my hand so I went back to the paperwhite. On a whim I decided to look for a different cover and discovered Amazon had finally released a new oasis cover. Its really nice! Lighter than the first Amazon oasis cover and doesn’t use the goofy magnet to hold it on. I really like that it completely covers the metal back of the oasis, makes it a lot more comfortable to hold! Its a really nice product and the punch red is beautiful! If you’re like me and they oasis has always felt a little awkward, this is the cover to get. The only thing I miss is the origami fold so it will stand on its own for table reading.Read more

I bought the cover together with a Kindle Oasis. The charcoal black colour blends very well with the kindle colour and the texture uplifted it and gives it a classy look.
