I don’t know how these got to be #1 in Ice Cube Molds & Trays. My guess is that reviews are being written a few weeks or even a few months after the purchase date. Here’s my experience. I purchased this 4 pack in August of 2016. They seemed great at first. Let’s face it, there isn’t much to rate on an ice cube tray. 1) Are the cubes a “good” size? 2) Are the cubes easily dispensed from the tray? 3) How long does the tray last before needing replacement? 1) I knew the size of the cubes when I made the purchase. 2) The cubes come out of the tray easily after running the tray under water for just a few seconds. No problem so far. 3) A crack developed in one of the trays after about 6 months. By 1 year, all the trays had cracks. I’m shopping for new trays today and will toss these when the new trays arrive. I’m thinking of trying silicone. Does anyone have any suggestions. Save your 10 bucks. These are junk!Read more

In the past we’ve owned quite a few different brand ice cube trays that appeared as though they would last, as we were able to see them in a brick and mortar store. After a few months, or so, of using these other trays they would begin to break at the cube connection points and water would leak through. After spending some time searching for some ice cube trays that would last longer than a few months, we came across these Kitch Easy Release ice cube trays. We have had these Kitch ice cube trays for about 9 months, to date, and they are definitely durable and built to last the twisting that is required to break the ice apart. We typically fill each cube to just a little below the separator line and freeze. When putting a tray into the freezer we will place it below another tray, which can cause the two to freeze together. We just twist the top tray, with the ice that we’d like to use, to separate the two trays and begin to break up the ice into individual cubes. If you’re in the market for ice cube trays that are built to last, then these Kitch ice cube trays are definitely a good buy. I bought the and the rubbermaid version. These make a tiny bit bigger ice cubes but they are harder top get or off the trays. The plastic is harder in the trays than the rubbermaid. I bet the larger size cube combined with the harder plastic is what makes them harder to get out of the trays. As you can see on the photo (rubbermaid to the right in the photo) you could stack 5 rubbermaid trays in the same space that these trays can stack 4. Overall, I prefer the rubbermaid trays.Read more

*UPDATE* I’ve owned these ice trays for about four years and they’re still holding up. I know that here on Amazon lately that there’s always a chance of getting Cheap China Stuff (CCS), but these are not that. These are still the best ice trays I’ve ever owned. I just bought a second set because being home has increased our ice demands. The four-year-old set is still as awesome as they were when I first got them—there’s no cracks and ice cubes still release easily from the trays. I cannot recommend these highly enough. This is one purchase that will surprise you with CCS! I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. Thank you for reading and I hope this informs your decision making process! Original Review: Fantastic ice trays! They’re good grade plastic, easy to crack the ice out of, and make the perfect size of ice! Honestly, the best ice cube trays I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned many! The problem I always have is the plastic cracking after a short time, but these have already lasted longer than any others without breaking. I hope this helped in your decision, I really can’t see anyone being disappointed in this product. The ice next to the trays in the pic are from the trays, the ice maker in my freezer does not work.Read more

I would give these 0 stars if I could. After a year, 3 out of the 4 had multiple cracks. The water leak is slow but fast enough that I had a thick layer of ice at the bottom of my freezer. If I thought defrosting my work fridge/freezer was a pain, it was nothing compared to the solid sheet that I had to melt to make my freezer clean again. Thankfully I saved my old dollar store trays. They never cracked so I put them back into use until I can try another brand.Read more

Two of the four trays work as expected. Water freezes into ice, and the cubes pop out with a gentle twist. The other two are another story, however. On these two trays the ice sticks firmly to the plastic, and it takes more energy to break them free. The ice is adhered so well to the plastic, that the cubes shatter into fine pieces when breaking out, making them virtually useless. Very strange. We thought this would go away with subsequent washings, but it seems to be a property of the plastic itself. How do you mess up an ice tray?Read more

When i tell you these are the best cheapo ice trays I’ve ever used, i mean it. I have used a lot of icetrays, and most of them become brittle in a matter of weeks or months. I have had these for a long time. In an office setting they get used a lot. To this day they are not brittle, the still pop ice out with a easy twist. My 5 year old can do it that’s how easy the ice comes out. If you’re looking for super sheap and super good ice trays, you need to look no farther.Read more

”Really pleased with these trays. No complaints so far. If that changes I will certainly update this. * Every ice cube comes out of the tray every single time. Exactly what I was looking for. Really pleased with these. * Not too flexible or stiff plastic either one. Easy to manipulate. Bottom of cubes are rounded, something I think contributes to them being so easy to remove. ** One tip with these is to not overfill them. If you do, you might have a harder time breaking them apart and may end up with some uneven sized cubes. If you have any questions leave them in the comments and I will be happy to answer.Read more

Definitely the best ice cube trays. Remember the ones your mom had when you were young and they were easy to use and made perfect cubes instead of all of the fancy overpriced ones these days that are all made out of silicone etc..? Well these are it! Sturdy, easy to use, easy to pop the ice cubes out. Very happy!Read more

Literally the best ice cube tray in the world! Don’t even bother with other brands. Why do any other ice cube trays exist? Ice pops out perfectly; barely have to twist the tray. They stack perfectly – you can even carry them around in a stack; they won’t wobble or spill. Perfect amount of cubes! I’d marry this ice cube tray. Look forward to using them for many years to come!Read more

So I have been long searching for “beefy” ice cube trays that won’t shatter when twisted to release ice, like the ones my grandparents had. While these trays are not quite as “beefy” as my ol Grans, they are the closest I have found. One simple flex twist of the tray and all the ice cubes are free. No smacking, no running water to help loosen any, no praying to whatever deity you may worship to prevent the ice from shattering individually.Read more

Saying to “buy these trays” as I did previously buy some of those fancy trays with silicone bottoms which were a pain to pop out the cube, and broke and leaked after a week. But these trays are great. Easy to twist the cubes, well made it it doesn’t feel like the tray will break, the cubes also slide out easily.Read more

Trays seem well made and work like our old (really old) ones did. Have not had much success with reasonably priced “improved” models.Read more
