I ordered these thinking they were similar to my previous order of masks. I discovered that this brand felt thinner ( 3 layers only vs. 5) and that there was no stamp of location/ certification on the outside of the product , and as a result, I returned the product.Read more

Okay, I was excited about getting these. I wanted some N95 masks as we are having a big spike where I live now. I never felt well protected with either my home sewn mask or my regular disposable masks. On top of that, it’s going to get cold soon where I live and wearing a mask is actually great in the cold weather. And I wanted a stealthy looking black mask. I think they look elegant and don’t clash with one’s clothes. These are a strange fit. For the record, I’m only five feet tall and have a small face. The fit is perfect for me from ear loop to ear loop. My husband is a very thin man who is only five and a half feet tall and he can not wear these masks, which is a big disappointment. He says they are SO tight from ear to ear that it pulls his ears forward, and he has a very thin face! So, WHO are they going to fit? Not children, because I am about the size of your average 5th grader and the actual mask part is really quite big. I like how it stands away from my face, but if I don’t keep pushing it down it starts to ride up and hurt my eyes! And it cuts into my neck a bit much. One last thing: it’s pretty hard to breathe in these. I have some other N95 masks in white and they aren’t so stuffy to wear. I’ve given it two stars instead of one because I will wear these when it gets very cold out. But I can’t imagine they would fit just about anybody!Read more
I tore one of them apart, and confirmed it does have 5 layers… but in all honesty, it’s deceptive to rely on statements of layers to get any performance out of it. It could be 100 layers, and still be awful if each of those layers doesn’t do anything. To confirm performance, you’d need traceability to an international standard or testing laboratory… which I couldn’t find any… or the ability to perform the particulate tests yourself… which I cannot. The certificate it comes with states the GB2626 Chinese standard, for what it’s worth. That’s typical of the Chinese “KN95” style masks. This one fits a bit larger than the legitimate “Medium” sizes, so people with narrower cheeks beware. They breath and feel the same as any other bi-folding mask we’ve tried, and it is possible to get a decent seal if the sizing is good. I prefer black to white, but honestly it comes down to protection and price for me. I use these masks as throw-away masks for larger, open public places like grocery stores. For places where I am consistently exposed to a lot of people (like at work), I wear a reusable respirator with properly tested and pedigreed filters. The price per mask is good for what you’re getting, though prices fluctuate for this type of PPE pretty wildly. This is a normal KN95-style mask, I do not see anything wrong with it other than the lack of international standards. The build is decent, and it will work for light filtration needs.Read more
These masks seem to be well made, but are a little odd for me. The actual mask itself: – This is a large mask. I use a medium mask most of the time, and these masks are big on me – The mask looks nice and seems to be a good quality mask – I find the edges of the mask to be prickly and scratchy, and it irritates my skin a bit. It doesn’t fee that way to the touch, but once it is on my face I definitely feel it, and it leaves red marks where the edges hit my skin The elastic straps: – The elastic straps are small and tight but very soft and non-irritating – Too tight for my face. They pull my ears forward to the point of discomfort – They seem too small for the size of the mask The nose bridge: – The nose bridge works fine – you just have to flatten it out before trying to bend it to shape. No issues there. While these are uncomfortable for me, they may fit some faces as some other reviews state. This seems to be a quality mask, but the large mask and short elastic just doesn’t work for me.Read more

These KN95s have a pretty typical fit for this style of mask. They form a reasonable seal around the face when compared to other procedure or surgical masks (but not a true seal like N95s). Smart look with the black finish (although the white inside liner shows up at the edges). They are noticeably thinner than other KN95s I’ve purchased in the past; I’d say by about 25-30%. They state prominently on the packaging “non-medical.” They have a flat metal nose piece that does bend and conforms to the nose. The ear loops are supposed to be one size fits most; but I found them a bit too small causing them to pull on my ears and make the mask uncomfortable to wear for long periods. I do like that they’re individually packaged making it nice to hand out to friends if needed. At $30 for a pack of 50, these are cheaper than N95s but much more expensive than your average disposable mask. Overall, they‘ll do in a pinch, but I wouldn’t get them again. 3/5 stars.Read more
With the travel uptick for work re-emerging, I wanted to test out the mask market for something better than I had. Thus, I decided to give these 5 ply masks a whirl. I will probably go with something else in the future. Pros: individually packaged in plastic, heavier duty than the genric surgical mask (just be ready for that difference if you are used to a surgical mask), black instead of the normal white or pale blue Cons: the price ($40 when similar products are much cheaper), elastic was too short for my longer face My biggest question is the claim about the 5 ply protective layer. The description says “2 layers of non-woven fabric, 2 layers of melt-blown cloth, and 1 layer of hot air cotton.” I cut one open b/c I wanted to see the 5 layers and, as the image shows, I could only see 4. I’d really be interested in the manufacturer offering an explanation to help me understand what I missed.Read more
