I bought a set of three and discovered 2 months later discovered that one of them was defective. A very faint sound comes out that you can barely even hear. Opened it up and one of the batteries is irregular shaped. Wish I could’ve returned it but I gave the other two away as gifts. Advice to all… Check all electronics asap when you receive them. I’ve purchased “kids” alert/alarms when our family lived in the woods and we couldn’t see our tween daughter on at the bus top. Every house had at least 2 acres. It was very wooded. One of the houses had been robbed the prior year. They emptied the house of anything valuable and drove off. People can’t see others’ homes nor kids to know they are safe. So long ago, when my daughter was little I purchased a 130dB hello kitty alarm. I figured a “bad guy” would think it’s just part of her key chain. When we would test that alarm, we’d toss it in her bedroom, walk down the hall to the fourth bedroom. Could BARELY hear it.. had to listen for it. We wouldn’t have heard it if we had a tv on or were talking.. and that’s in the same house on the same floor. We couldn’t hear it in the kitchen. Ugh. It’s like KIDS need LESS??? LOUD RESCUE ALARMS????? wwha??? PLEASE DO NOT BUY your children anything but the 145dB. Seriously. If you want to HEAR it from bus stop to you. It was so loud my bold lab layed down on the floor, head flat..like “make it stop please!”. This is the loudest alarm I’ve had and it’s about time. I’m disabled now and I want my neighbors to be able to hear if I need help. ANYTHING less (cuz I’ve tried them) is not effective. Got the 3 pack for myself and my 2 daughters. I pulled the pin when I got them and this thing is friggin’ loud! Those reviewers who said it wasn’t loud are already deaf. It scared me and I was prepared for it, so it will definitely scare an attacker away! Before I got them I was a little concerned about the pin getting pulled accidentally, but it’s in there pretty good and would require a good pull. One added benefit, it scares the crap out of pets…specifically our mischievous cat. He was scratching and chewing on presents and I couldn’t get him out from under the tree, but this did the trick.Read more
