Nowhere did it say this product was foreign. I don’t know if it plays on the Switch, I didn’t try it. I wanted to send it back sealed.Read more

AMAZING Zelda game great for a beginner. I’ve never played a Zelda game before and I am a total wimp who jumps and runs when anything chases me. My family got me BOTW for Christmas and I wanted to play it, but it was all too scary. Link’s Awakening was the perfect way to get myself into the series without screaming and freaking out. The art style is cutesy and just not scary enough that I can tackle the enemies and bust my way through the story line. The plot is fantastic and has the classic elements of other Zelda games, and the map is more condensed and easy to follow with some areas to explore/multiple ways to get somewhere, but it doesn’t have the “wildly explore and empty areas between zones” that BOTW or other games have. The map is definitely condensed but it’s adorable and still large. I saw a lot of reviews say it was too easy, but this was perfect for me because it allowed me to ease myself into the franchise and it took me a solid three weeks to play through it. Now I’m moving on to BOTW and I’m able to play it without being too scared because of this game. Highly recommend.Read more

The game looks fantastic and the gameplay is simple yet fun. However, It is far too easy and linear. There is no real challenge to it and no need to really collect anything outside of what the dungeons offer (or required weapons) in order to beat it. Also, The difficult curve oddly ramps up in the last 2 dungeons while every other one before it was a cakewalk. I wish they’d done a better job at progressively making each one harder and harder.Read more

if you loved snes zelda link to the past growing up then this game is for you!! I am only 2 dungeons in my 1st play through but i seen enough to know it is fun. the one odd thing about this game compared to other zelda games is there are decent amount of references to mario series. Not mario and friends themselves but the enemies of mario are in it. You will see goombas in a dungeon for example. Strange… but still FUN, so stop listening to me and get itRead more

The game is an international version I believe, which is really my fault for not paying attention to what I was buying, that is my only gripe…it came in 2 days early and it works good for an international version…last time I tried to order this game from Amazon I got a fake game so your getting an honest sellerRead more

Basically I missed out on the first Zelda game so happily when I saw this, was a perfect opportunity to experience this on my Switch – Having had Breath of The Wild, which is ok, fine, bit empty out in the world if I’m honest. This feels more like a proper Zelda on par with Ocarina of Time which is my favourite Zelda! Playing Zelda on the NES and SNES classics has been a fabulous homage and love letter to my child hood playing these with my best friend and brother. I can confidently say having experienced Links Awakening today, this is now my favourite Zelda and in fact straight to the top of my library of Switch titles! Truly spellbinding and magical, a game that can make you “feel” and “smell” all of those childhood fond memories even down to the music or simply opening a chest or dungeon door! Exceptional and in my opinion “a masterpiece” sorry BOTW but this is proper classic Zelda at its best! Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Read more

This review is after a few hours of play, I’ll update as I get more time with it. (UPDATE at the bottom of this review). I’m 36 – I never played the original or any of the other Zelda games apart from BoTW which of course I love (best game I have ever played). So far it has been easy to put back down, its the sort of game I would have expected to be able to get on the Switch. Graphics are nice and bright and generally just good to look at. The price seems high when you compare to what you get with BoTW, but pretty standard for games these days it seems. My 8 year old boy seems to love the game and has found it immediately easy to play. He plays BoTW also but that took him a long time to master. I would therefore recommend this games for either the younger player or die hard Zelda fans. Otherwise you might not get as much from it. UPDATE: I’ve played this a few times and helped out my son when he gets stuck. Its very linear and formulaic (i.e. there’s a specific order in which you can do things before progressing), so no open world here. For me its easy to put down and I can’t see myself bothering to play it until completion. For comparison, I played BoTW to completion and then did loads of extras and became a bit of a completionist. I stick with my earlier recommendation that kids will enjoy it or Zelda fans who care about the history and folklore. For me its just not special enough to get my time.Read more

Yeh you read that correctly, Legend of Zelda Links Awakening is a remake of a classic Gameboy game that was released 26 years ago. I am still mind blown by this game by how creative and quality the game is. The story in itself is completely nuts and course the game puts you in the boots of the legendary link. I won’t go in to many more details asa I will leave that up to you because if your in to a game where you love uncovering secrets and unlocking tools to progress in a video game then I have to say this is one of the best in the bunch. Yet this was created how long ago? Honestly on top of this I have seen alot of complaints about how long the game is but I garentee you most of the player base complaining have been using guides, PLEASE DO NOT USE A GUIDE, this game does not need a guide and more often then not the answers to the puzzles lay right Infront of you and when you figure them out it is so so satisfying. On top of that there is a HARD MODE, where the game doesn’t give you heart drops and much stronger enemies… Yeh try getting through that one. Plus I feel the world is so creative and full of mysteries to uncover you will enjoy a second play through to really absorb everything that goes on in such a beautiful crafted game. Trust me if you haven’t purchased this yet and love a great adventure then this is for you I believe it’s worth the price 100% I have no regrets and only joy being gripped to my seat for the last 4 days playing it none stop. The only issue with the game is drops in frame rate, is that a game breaker? Absolutely not. Quickly what are you waiting for??Read more

Zelda: Links Awakening was the first game I had on my Game Boy Color back in 1998. Being able to replay it on my Switch in this beautiful and faithful remake, is an utter joy. The graphics, controls, gameplay and music (a stunning soundtrack) are perfect. After breezing through the 4 dungeons in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, its refreshing to actually do 8 of them this time round, the last two being particularly challenging. I’m only hoping that Nintendo go and remake Oracle of the Ages/Seasons in the same style. They’ll sell by the bucket-load! If you’re a Zelda fan and never played the original, then take my word for it- go buy this. And if you have, like me, well, it’s a helluva nostalgia trip!Read more

Hmmmm…. I didn’t like this at all I’m afraid, cleared the first 2 dungeons and then got bored of the old school repetitive back and forth puzzle solving gameplay. Probably more suitable for younger players with it’s nicely updated bright, cute and colourful miniture toy style graphics or I guess people who are nostalgic about the original with it’s classic Zelda gameplay, but for me there’s no way this is worth £50. I’m not actually saying this is a bad game to be fair and I’m sure plenty of folks will like it’s charm…. Just not for me though, I found it boring and annoying. I’ve traded it in already for Dark Souls and gone straight back on that and Skyrim, also pre ordered Witcher 3 for October. Lesson learned…. Stick to what I know!Read more
