We recently purchased a Natuzzi couch and love seat set that were in need of a deep conditioning. I was going to go with Leather Honey, but when I realized it would cost atleast $50 for the couch alone, I decided I’d go with something else. I found the reviews of Lexol and all the people raving about it, so I gave it a try. I also have Bick 4 and a Meguiars 3-in-1 to compare it to. It’s no comparison to Meguiars, which I found leaves the leather dull (as to be expected with a 3-in-1). But the Bick 4 is a huge contender. It’s never left any white residue on my purses or shoes I’ve used it on, while the Lexol will leave a white residue IF you use too much and don’t wipe it off (it’s easily fixable by applying more Lexol to a cloth and wiping anywhere there is white). It leaves the leather with a slight shine which is nice, and creates an instant, dramatic change when applied with a brush. The photos I’ve included are while the conditioner is still wet, which shows it as more dramatic than when it is dry, but it isn’t that far off. I don’t notice any leather darkening compared the the back of the couch, which I haven’t conditioned. You have to use very little compared to what I expected. I probably used 3oz on the entire couch (which is oversized and very large, and also a generous application). I conditioned the love seat as well and I’m not even 1/3 through the bottle. This stuff goes far. I also wanted to add in that you need to be sure your couch is genuine leather AND not treated with something to make it unable to accept leather conditioner. Also, if you wipe this on with a cloth and see barely any change in your deep scratches, try a brush specifically for conditioning leather. I have a very small horsehair brush that I use on my purses that I decided to try on the couch. With just wiping this stuff on, I only saw a slight difference. But with the brush, it looked like a new couch. Deep wear is going to require a little elbow grease. I took probably an hour or so on my couch to get it back to looking new, and I’m still conditioning it regularly to keep it at that point. Sadly, this does not prevent scratches from dogs (haha!). Overall, I’ll buy this again, and I’ll invest in the cleaner from this brand. Bick 4 is another great option, but at this price point, this cannot be beat. I feel it delivers a deeper conditioning with fewer applications. Don’t expect a miracle the first application if you’ve had your couches 20 years and never treated them, give it a few goes.Read more

Has been a long time since I needed to order Lexol. When I received it I noticed that the company had changed, and that it was being manufactured in China. I use this in my water when I’m carving my leather projects. Upon opening it up, it poured into my water like milk, and the smell was more af a chemical than the oily smell you get from leather preservatives such as neetsfoot oil. The new company has definitely ,it seems, changed the formula. I still had some of the old left so poured out the new and made another batch with what old I had. Have no clue what I will do with this, or what I will use in the future, but this isn’t it anymore.Read more

So gross! I purchased a 1L bottle of this stuff in 2013, and it worked great on my leather living room furniture. I’m nearly out, so I went to order a replacement bottle, and the last 2 bottles I’ve received have seemingly been a totally different product—this stuff STINKS! Other reviewers have said there was a formula or manufacturer change… whatever it is, I’m afraid to put this stuff on our furniture for fear the smell of death will sink into it permanently. I’m going to do another return and get hunting for an alternative, this stuff could very well be poison with the way it smells.Read more

Aweful aweful scent. I used to really like this product for leather and vinyl car seats, but they clearly changed the formal. It now smells like baby throw up mixed with some sort of toxic glue. I will definitely be returning this one. I repeat ignore any positive reviews. This stuff is terrible. You have been warned.Read more

I bought this product so I could use it on my boots, motorcycle jacket, car seats, sofa. Pretty much anything with leather. I don’t really see how this is any better than using plain water. It didn’t seem to do anything special in deep cleaning my boots. I was even worried that it would damage the leather. It even says not to use it on soft leather on the bottle!! What kind of leather cleaner has a warning to not use on leather?! But the worst of it is the smell. It gave me a solid aching headache. I had to open all my doors and windows to get the smell out. I finished the job outside and it still peirced my brain real good. I’ve bought leather cleaners of the same quality at 99 cent stores in larger bottles. I wouldn’t dare use this stuff on my jacket. It will leave me smelling like a chemical spill.Read more

I had been using Lexol for over 15 years. This company is under new ownership and they have definitely changed the formula. This stuff is more runny than the old rich consistency that it used to have. Worst of all, it leaves a white residue after drying!Read more

I lovED this product!! But sadly they sold out to a Chinese company and they ruined a once great product! I smells awful , it smells like old previously lit off fireworks that have then gotten wet and moldy. Do not buy this!! You will hate being around your leather goods! The old formula made leather goods smell more like leather, i loved using it. I am very disappointed they sold out their legacy to a cheap, profit only Chinese company!!Read more

Used it on a leather sofa, even though it smelled horribly as soon as I opened the bottle. Made the entire house smell as terrible as the product, even with doors and windows wide open. Dumped the rest of the bottle out immediately. Loss of money not important, as I should have read why others left one star (same reason). Can’t believe CEO of Lexol hasn’t taken a whiff of his/her own product. Do not buy! You’ve been warned.Read more
