For almost $13.00 I’m not sure what I was expecting. At first I didn’t really notice much difference than my cheaper Martin strings and even thought they sounded a bit dull, but by the third day they just started to pop. Not sure why. I can bend them as easy as the Martin Flexible Core which I thought was kind of weird. We’ll see how long they last. My other Martin strings easily last a month or two with daily playing. Honestly, I’ll go back to their cheaper strings as I have zero issues with them and they are only 5 bucks or so but I thought I’d give these a try. Here’s my opinion on all these “new coated strings that cost a lot”. If you make a living playing guitar you’d probably want a new set on your guitar almost every performance regardless of coated vs non coated. I know I did. So why pay $12.00 when you can just change out new ones for $5.00. And if your someone who sits around the house and plays for a few hours every week, why spend $12.00 on strings when a $5.00 set will last you plenty? That’s just me but If your interested in these I would try them out.Read more

I’ve used the phosphor bronze coated Martin strings (540), but they were too bright on the Custom Shop Martin 00 (and CEO-7 types). These strings were originally strung on the guitar, and the bronze coating sounds great. Bronze is better in this case. I really don’t know as far as longevity, that’s why I gave them 4 stars. It seems I have to change them every month or more frequently, but maybe I play it too often. The Elixir strings lasted longer, but do not sound correct.Read more

I love these strings. They came on my Martin and I’ll never change them. I normally don’t like coated strings but these feel great and sound natural. I normally use the D’Addario EJ-15 or 16 strings and still do on my other acoustics but I’m in love with these for my Martin. Martin recommends them and they were the strings that came with my guitar when I fell in love with it in the store so I always get these special for my Martin. I’m sure they’d sound great on any acoustic but they’re a little pricey so I keep them on my nicer guitar only. Great for recording. Keeps that great deep, bassy Martin tone and they last forever. Even with heavy use I can go much longer between string changes with these. Maybe it’s just my ear but they seem to start to feel bad before they sound bad.Read more

I was hoping for a richer sound and strings that would be easier on my fingers. I carefully put my on new strings (a labor of love) and I could not believe how awful they sound! Plus they really hurt my fingers, way more than previous (old) strings. I have never actually seen strings so thin. Maybe that is why it sounds tinny? On a search for the answer. I would not recommend these strings. Martin strings, Fender Malibu acousticRead more

I had this Martin guitar purchased recently and after 4 months of using it 3rd string snapped, so I guess it’s normal and about time to replace the string , I bought this replacement string (Martin Guitar Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 MA140T, 80/20 Bronze) in AMAZON because that is the original string of my new MARTIN guitar, I replaced all the strings from 1 to 6 then while I’m tuning in the string IMMEDIATELY 1st string SNAPPED!!! I feel like I bought an old, stuck, hidden string in the shelves!!! so SAD!!!Read more

I like my guitar to have a crisp bright sound. I play a lot of latin pop, and this strings have the sound I enjoy. The feel of the strings feels natural for my fingers. This strings usually last me about a year on my guitar. I use my guitar an average of 7 hours a week. I am glad I found this package of strings here in Amazon. My local music shop no longer carries this brand.Read more

I was a bit hesitant to spend the extra money on the lifetime edition of these strings. But the coating they put on the strings to add to the longevity is well worth it. Aside from the longevity factor, it is also evident in the sound of the stings. They sound brighter for longer. It has a rich sound that I really appreciate. I buy Martin strings for my Martin guitar, even though it’s not a must. They just seem to complement each other.Read more

Read more

Read more

I have no real dislikes when it comes to any Martin string. They put out a good sound and keep their sound until it is time to change them; they are all I use on my Martin 6 string acoustic guitar.Read more
