I enjoyed the taste of this coffee, it was my first time purchasing this brand, however, the functionality of the cups is poor. The corrugated sides and how the cup works together doesn’t bode well in the Keurig which means the cups don’t always puncture which can make a mess. In addition sometimes they just sort of become a volcano coming out the top of the cup as though it can’t keep up with the liquid that is trying to poor through it; this could be the type of plastic it is made with. Essentially, no matter how I tried to mitigate this, I ended up not using them at all because it wasn’t worth the mess they created it was so hit and miss. So, money wasted. This company needs an overhaul on the engineering on this one. Just a mess and epic fail.Read more

Coffee tastes great, dark and rich, but not bitter (with cream and sugar I always use), and definitely provides nice jolt of caffeine. Still don’t know how they naturally do that with just Arabica blend instead of higher caffeine Robusta blend. Unfortunately my Keurig 2.0 (that works perfectly with all previous K-Cup pods I have used, (including Trader Joe’s higher caffeine blend)), would not recognize this as compatible and even showed a message indicating this was not compatible with the 2.0 machine, attached. Very disappointed. I improvised by peeling off the label of a compatible pod from another brand and placed on top of this pod and it fortunately worked, but was a pain to do. You can also just cut the left outer side of a working Kcup label and tape that on each of these to work, and I just used the same one repeatedly with double stick tape.Read more

K cups explode in the maker. Not all but now about 1 out of 3. Coffee and grounds everywhere….in the cup …in the maker…on the kitchen counter. Saw this same problem others where having and thought how bad can it be…….BAD. Made a cup of coffee it worked fine. Ran the same k cup through again and it exploded. Then tried to make a cup of coffee with a new k cup it exploded ….ran it through again and it worked fine. Can’t figure it out but won’t buy again. Shame. Really like the tall and handsome coffee but what a mess…..not worth it… By the way we have a Keurig makerRead more

Have tried five cups so far and only two worked. Will either brew a partial cup or none at all. Messes up brewing cycle of Keurig. Have had this problem before with another company. Called Keurig and they said the company (the other company) was not approved for Keurig machines. Something about how they grind their coffee. They even sent us a new machine (ours was still under warranty) and had the same problem. May be same issue with this brand. I as checked the Keurig sight and this coffee is not sold on their site. Coffee tastes great though when pods do work UPDATE: For some reason the bottom of these cups seem harder or thicker. Discovered pods will work if you manually push down on k-cup to pierce the bottom.Read more

I bought this coffee because the ratings were strong. I like a good dark coffee and generally love Ethiopian flavors. With the caveat that pressurized K-cup brewing cannot be as good as drip, this is terrific coffee. Highly recommended on flavor alone. Also, the cup is designed with corrugations on the barrel, which allow water flow along the sides of the inner filter. The only one in my drawer that does so. I’m betting that enhances flow-through and resulting flavor. But there’s another reason to get this coffee brand versus others. Recently, K cups have become recyclable. Look at the bottoms of old ones versus new ones, and you’ll notice a number five recycling symbol appearing on newer ones. I was delighted and intrigued about this, and started pulling the tops off and the liners out of all my k-cups before recycling the plastic part. This can be exceedingly messy and must be done over the trashcan. Because of this, I’ve considered just using reusable k-cups again, which I’ve always considered to be too fussy/messy. Not only does this brand have a pulltab on the metallic top skin, but the inner liner pulls out in one piece. Salvaging the recyclable plastic is about half the effort, and the result is cleaner. It’s only one I’ve seen like this. Much better.Read more

I don’t ask much of my decaf coffee. I just want it to taste good with preferably a nice bold flavor. Maud’s Decaf Dark Roast K-Cups pass that test. I’ve had mostly mediocre to bad tasting decaf coffee K-Cups in the past. Typically the bolder flavored coffees seem to translate to a better decaf flavor for me. This Maud’s has got a pretty bold flavor to it. I’m guessing people who don’t like strong coffee might not like it, but if you like your coffee with some kick, this is a good choice for someone trying to get their coffee fix without overdoing it on the caffeine. Updated on 4/2/2020. I’ve had a chance to try some of their other coffee offerings such as their Half-Caf, Kona Coast and Talk, Dark and Handsome. They are all excellent. I also should mention their customer service is the best. I had a slight problem with one shipment and they went above and beyond what I expected. Great products and great service. Maud’s is now my first choice for K-Cups.Read more

So, I first came upon this brand of coffee from a Winners store, loved it. Found it on here, ordered it, and here it is. So the pods themselves seem to be intact, but the box looks like someone’s puppy used it as a chew toy, or for the sports fans, perhaps after the centre passes the ball to the quarterback and he gets tackled, ergo, the condition it arrived in. Listen, I’ve been shopping on Amazon for years, and have had no need to raise an issue about things happening in transit, but this is pretty bad. If this was sitting on the shelf in your grocery store, no Way…. would anyone purchase this box looking like this. I order Starbucks 24 pod packs and they come nice and neat in an untouched box. Not sure who is responsible but color me unimpressed.Read more

I never heard of any coffee pod able to explode while brewing in Keurig machine. I wish I bought this before reading those helpful reviews (some of pods i ordered are already used) and now I am scared if some of the pods eventually explodes at my kitchen someday. I noticed the explosive pods began to happen quite a long ago, but since nothing has been resolved or collected back until today. I won’t buy coffee from this brand again for its poor quality of service and resolutions. How could you make kpods explode.. quite surprising.Read more

I am so impressed with this coffee. I drink a lot of coffee and haven’t been able to find s good one for a long time, I wanted something a little stronger than the average pods. I ordered this and it is perfect. The strength is bang on! Not too strong and not weak. It has great flavor. I won’t order any other brand from now on. It is exactly what I was looking forRead more

When I saw the description (tall, dark and handsome), along with the pictures, I had certain expectations when buying these K Cups. I initially made the pod in 10 oz format and it came out diluted to the extent of a cheap hospital coffee. Was able to get a decent tasting cup by subsequently running it on the 8 oz size. In the end, I don’t quite understand all the 5 star reviews, unless people enjoy weak coffee. I just thought it was more marketing hype than anything else with the description and pictures. When you want a decent 10 oz size cup of coffee, there are many other better “dark and handsome” options out there.Read more

The packaging was very intriguing I did read a review that some thought it was weak but decided to use my own judgment. I had to put my coffee maker on Bold so it would make it stronger but it didn’t help. I’m an avid Amazon shopper and I’m satisfied with many many of the products there’s only been one other product besides this that I was disappointed in but having said that I spent $20 on something that is really not drinkable if you enjoy coffee. I do not like my coffee strong at all but this is ridiculous. Is there anything to do to make it a little bit stronger Thank you.Read more
