Sorry for the gross photo, but isn’t seeing it do its job the best way to know if it works? It really does catch hair decently well. I have very long hair, my husband has a billion tiny short hairs and we both also somehow manage to get coated in our long haired pets fur which also tries to get washed down the drain. This does a good job of catching a lot of our hairs as well as fur and has the bonus of also being very easy to clean afterwards. I clean it after every shower and it takes less than a minute. Do I think it catches every single hair? No. But I do think it catches enough to make a big impact on minimizing how often the drain will need to be unclogged. Having this in place definitely makes the tub drain a bit slower when showering. Not enough to really make the water back up too much, but it creates a little pool that’s bigger than usual around the drain. If you let much hair accumulate in there and don’t clean it often you will absolutely have trouble getting your tub to drain properly very quickly. I think it looks surprisingly good for a hair catcher and fits well over the drain in our 80’s almond tub. Reasonable price too. Overall though I would say I am pleased with how it performs and I would recommend it!Read more

Like others mentioned, hair will just flow under the drain catcher if it’s not on a flat surface. Luckily, it has 2 separate parts: the cup and the cover. I took the cup out and put that in the drain first, it fits perfectly. Then I put the cover directly on top. It actually is more flat this way so it catches hair both in the wider cover and in the little cup.Read more

Worked perfectly for my shower drain it’s the same size as the default one (visible in picture), and fits flush in the drain hole to the floor. I usually plug the drain with 1-2 showers (I have really dense hair and can only easily detangle wet, with conditiiner) this time I was able to easily pick up the hair without it getting tangled in the drain, (with the old drain this was not possible it would really tangle and had to go through a disgusting process to clean it out) so happy I got this.Read more

I love this strainer. Unlikecither product that is lite and flimsy and shifts when you turn the water on, this product is the opposite; it stays in place. It is heavy and we’ll made, install in seconds, even though it came with instructions; a two year old can do. Nontiols was needed. I like that it can be lifted out for extra cleaning, without any tools. For me I find that his brand is one of best drain catcher on the market, it can be used in a kitchen sink, but I use it in the bathtub. In the future I would definitely purchase this product again as well as recommending it to others family and friends. I have uploaded three photos of my tub and kitchen sink. If I didn’t have a strainer in my kitchen sink I would buy one for the kitchen as well, because I like the way it fits. On the market for me It is my now and future use broduct. I give this product a 10

I love the way this looks and the quality of the materials but unfortunately it’s not catching my long hair. It’s too rigid (obviously because it’s metal) to fully conform to my tub so most of the hair slides right underneath the rim and into my tub drain, clogging it. I’m bummed out because I thought this would be the perfect replacement for the (uglier) plastic versions I’ve been using for years.Read more

This is awesome. For years I used the Tub Shroom which did a great job of catching some of the hair. But, because TubShroom is rubber, it would bend and get kicked to the side, hair would sneak past and I still would get a clogged drain. Not with this item, stays in place, catches all the hair. I wish I had bought it 5 years ago. 5 stars all day.Read more
Stuff I’ve Tried –
I wanted to love this and be done with the flimsy plastic hair catchers, but the base of this product is a bit wide for the position of the drain in my tub, so it gets held up at a slight angle and all of the hair just goes underneath. Instead of having only a ring on the bottom edge (presumably to avoid scratching the surface), if this was modified to be a silicone/plastic apron that extended out around the base to create a better seal and direct the water/hair into the main part of the catcher, I think this product would be a better fit for more styles of tubs/showers (especially if the outside metal ring were just a touch smaller). The slope of my bathtub starts almost immediately outside of the metal ring for the drain. If you have an inch or so of flat area surrounding your drain, you will have a better shot at this working. Just throw a ruler over the hole, if you get lift within that range, look for a different product made with more flexible materials. If you have a flat area surrounding your drain, I’d give this a try. The construction is nice and I think it would work well as long as the ring underneath is in full contact with the surface surrounding the drain. If I hadn’t already thrown my old one out, I would have tried cutting out the center and seeing if the extra “apron” would have resolved my issue with this product. Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20, so I’ll be sending this back.Read more
