I’ve been purchasing Mobil 1 oil filters for many years. My son’s car uses the same filter as my car. He noticed an oil leak around the rubber oil filter sealing gasket after 200 miles of use. The filter housing bottomed out and was making metal-to-metal contact with the engine block. He removed it and compared it to an original Mobil 1 filter and found the rubber sealing gasket was narrower and thinner than the original design. Also, there are fewer and smaller internal oil circulation ports than were in the original filter. Plus, the size of the filter housing changed. I recently purchased two of these filters and returned them, due to the design changes. My son and I are now using Honda factory filters, but will continue using Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. I contacted ExxonMobil twice to report the problem, but did receive a call back.Read more

IMPORTANT: Do NOT depend on the compatibility function used on Amazon. This IS the correct filter for my 2018 Honda Accord with the 1.5L engine even though Amazon says it is not. . MANY parts are stated incorrectly on Amazon as compatible or not compatible. To get the right Mobil 1 filter for your vehicle, consult the Mobil 1 website for compatibility and then come back here to Amazon to buy it. With that out of the way, I have researched oil filters for years and constantly keep up with it. Mobil 1 extended performance oil filters are the best or at minimum, among the best. Check out some videos on YouTube. You won’t believe how bad some of the other brands are. I only use Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil and Mobil 1 Oil Filters.Read more

My filter was delivered very quickly, which turned it into a next day delivery. That I like. My bubble envelope must have gotten squished because the filter was not in its box. The box was flattened and open on both ends. The filter must have been squashed out of the box, while in the bubble envelope. I don’t think it was damaged. These Mobile 1 filters seem to do a pretty good job, when paired with the same Mobil 1 oil. I don’t go for the 15,000 miles though. These are good for the regular 3K-5K with the same Extended Performance Oil. I always buy these and I recommend using them. They’re inexpensive, do what they’re supposed to do and are manufactured by a very well known company. I drive a Honda with 225K that still runs strong. These are the only filters I use.Read more

I always purchase highest quality products but there is a price tag in doing so. This filter rates 2cd best out of the bunch. It does not rust and it lasts for thousands of miles past auto manufacturers scheduled oil maintenance. However, you waste your money because most auto manufacturers recommend changing oil every 7500 miles where this filter is guaranteed for 20000 miles or 1 year. I purchase it ONLY because I use the mobile 1 synthetic oil for my Honda Fit which is a design match with this filter. Filters like FRAN are cheap so be aware. The cheap filters rust inside and have poor materials that can break off into the filter and oil stream. That can cause major engine issues if it ever happened. You get what you pay for. The cheapest thing you can do to maintain your car is proper and scheduled oil changes. So don’t go cheap when you do the maintenance.Read more

The truth is, I use brand-name synthetic oil, change my oil and filters regularly, and don’t drive in a particularly demanding style or environment. So I would probably do pretty well with most oil filters. That said, these are solid and well made. The first time I replaced one, I cut it open to take a look at filter medium and construction. The canister had a lot of filter material in there and the shell and end plates — whatever they’re called — looked solid. There are probably a lot of filters that would work well enough for me, but I’ve been using these for five or six years now without a problem. So I’m sticking with them.Read more

I’ve been using Mobil 1 filters for a long time. Of course I’ve used other brands, but over the years and over all the cars I’ve had and done maintenance on mobile one is one of my favorite brands. It is much more expensive than other brands. But things like filters like this when it comes to your engines oil, I don’t really want to go cheap on it. It doesn’t hurt my pocketbook to spend $14 / $4 for filter $10 more for absolute peace of mind is cool for the next 2-3 to 5000 miles. Not a big deal. And of course there are good company with really good products so to no brainer. I would probably use lesser-quality things for much cheaper cars or older american-made cars but the tolerance is on Asian cars are much smaller so you would need finer filtering and more expensive productsRead more

The Mobile 1 oil filters do a pretty good job. I paired the filter with the Mobil 1 oil. I used it on my 2016 Honda Civic. The filters goes on and off very easily on my car. I usually only hand tight the filter with a 1/4 turn with the oil wrench. Although the box states it can go for 15,000 miles, I typically change my oil and filter every 6 months or 7500 miles. I have been buying these filters since I got my car. I don’t have any issues and my car’s performance is like the day it rolled off the lot. The Mobil oil filter is inexpensive and do what they’re supposed to do. My oil doesn’t get brown and stay cleaner with these filters. These are the only filters I have used in my car, with the exception of the original OEM when they assembled the car.Read more

This filter fit my 06 zx6r 636 well. The Mobil 1 filter is almost an inch longer than the oem kawasaki filter and the K&N filter. I figure it should filter the old better, being that the filter is larger than oem. I put 1k miles on my bike since the install and so far no leaks. I use Mobil 1 oil products on all of my vehicles and bikes and have never been disappointed. I used the filter in conjunction with Mobil 1’s 4 cycle streetbike oil, which is a good value when buying their 6 quart value pack, it’s actually cheaper than buying just 4 quarts separately.Read more

Running this in a 2020 Civic Si. Besides using Honda OEM filters at periodic maintenance appointments, I’ve been using this filter and have never had problems. Engine runs great; smooth and powerful. I’ve been getting 7.4L/100KM (32MPG) in mixed city highway driving (mostly city), a little worse in the winter. It’s what I’ve been getting since I got this car new. I probably change my oil and filters much sooner than I need to (every 5,000 to 6,000 KMs), so I might not be giving a true representation of this filter’s capability, but with a turbo’d engine I’d rather not take the chance just for an experiment.Read more
