I wanted to love this tent. I bought it for my kids. I was looking for a smaller version of my Coleman six person tent that has a screen room in front. As soon as I opened it I noticed it was literally COVERED in loose threads and literally had scraps of fabric from the factory stuck to it. As someone who sews for a living I knew this was a bad sign, the quality was obviously poor but I figured I’d set it up anyways. As I was unfolding it to attach the poles I noticed a good sized tear in the mosquito netting. NO I DID NOT TEAR IT MYSELF. Upon set up I was disappointed to notice that the bottom liner is just nylon like the rest of the tent not a heavier tarp type material. It also had lots of tiny holes puncturing the bottom panel from where it was stitched incorrectly and the stitches were pulled out and resewn. But I was most disappointed that it doesn’t actually have a front screen space that zips all the way around. It is just a dome tent with an extra large rain fly that has a small rectangular tarp as the floor. When I looked back at the pictures this feature is obvious but the description clearly says “screen room” which to me implies an enclosed space space with a floor so that it keeps the bugs out and shoes dry. This is not the case. Obviously this tent is being returned. As the saying goes you get what you pay for but for $90 I would expect more! I’ll spend the extra $35 and get another Coleman Evanston 6 person Tent with an ACTUAL SCREEN ROOM, a tarp floor and MUCH BETTER QUALITY CONSTRUCTION! I recommend you do the same.Read more

For the size it’s pretty light and compact. Easy to set up. The main tent rods are easily clipped onto the tent. The rod that holds the vestibule open must be pushed through a sleeve in the rain fly, which is relatively more cumbersome and difficult than the clips, but ultimately still simple. The rain fly (outer layer) hooks in at the corners, but also has ties underneath it to attach it securely to the rods, which took a couple minutes to tie. Even with those slower parts of set-up, it can all be done in 5-10 minutes. I will add plastic snap buttons (T5 KAM snaps) to the ties so that in future setup I will only have to snap a button together instead of tie a knot with the small ribbons, which ended up becoming untied anyway overnight because the material is inherently slippery and doesn’t hold knots well. The tent is a great size for sleeping a couple. It can fit a queen air mattress almost perfectly, with plenty of room on the side for gear. Measure your sleeping system if curious about how much extra space you will have. Remember that the walls slope inward. In my opinion this thing is rather large for a single person, but you may like the extra space. The vestibule is pretty large and could shelter some equipment and shoes outside of the main tent. You could fit two large backpacks on the sides of it and still have the tent entryway unobstructed. The rear window and vestibule can be opened to let air flow through the tent (the small vents on the top do little), or you can remove the rain fly completely if the weather is too hot. I camped in 40°F and the tent seemed to stay 10-15° warmer than outside when two people slept inside, largely because the tent doesn’t allow much cold air to blow in. It worked great for us. The tent material is thin compared to tents of old, but seems pretty durable, and is pleasingly smooth to touch. Some of the seams where mesh meets the tent do seem to be relatively weak, and may need to be reinforced with thread if the tent is used heavily or put under stress in excess weather. Use a tarp or “footprint” under the tent to protect it from abrasion or puncture, as the bottom is tougher but isn’t durable tarp material, and rocks or sticks may poke through it. Take-down is even faster than set-up, but remember to take a mental note (or picture) of how exactly the tent is originally rolled up, so that you can repeat it to fit it back inside the storage/carrying bag. I got it in on the first try without much effort, but could imagine it being difficult if you don’t remember how it came bundled. Overall, it’s a good tent. Especially in price. I recommend it for new campers, or veteran campers. Great car-camping tent. It could even be used for backpacking in certain situations; if tent-sharing.Read more

I ordered this tent becuase made good experience with Moon lence products. This tent was easy to assemble. I assembled it alone at home and i finished within 18 minutes. That is pretty good. Tried it at home in my living room. Quality is as expected, zipper is running nice and smooth, seams are waterproof sealed, enough space for mattresses as belongings. My daughter loves the tent too and she invited all her plush animals to spend the night in our tent in our living room. Strips are good quality and rods are leight weight and put together without any issues. I will check my new purchase outdoors as soon as Illionois wheater allows me not freeze during nighttime 😉 Summary: so far, so good. No issues and daughters is happy. Thanks moon lence.Read more
