FROM THE MANUFACTURER
Motorcraft filters are engineered to the high quality standards of the Ford Motor Company and are recommended by Ford as the original equipment replacement filter for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. They are designed to help protect against engine wear by screening out abrasives, such as carbon, sand, dust and bits of metal before they can get into your oil. Pressure-relief valves help minimize the chance of contaminated oil circulating back into the engine and also help maintain the supply of oil to the engine under extreme cold conditions or if the filter gets clogged. The outer casings are constructed of steel, “ironed” for a precise fit, painted to resist rust and include flutings to ease removal. The efficient filter media offers increased dirt-collecting capability and ability to capture more engine-harming particles. Silicone anti-drain back valves help prevent oil from draining out of the filter and engine when the engine is not running and resist the aging effects that an engine’s high heat can cause.

These are the best filters that you can buy for the money. I buy and sell Crown vics. These are old Police cars, finding the ones that have been properly maintained is very important. I have noticed that any Crown vic that I have looked at with a Motorcraft filter, has not had engine problems. I think that this is because of the very high quality of these filters. Some of the internal parts of these filters include all metal end caps, a bend of fibers for the filter media (very good filtration) and the most impressive at this price point, is the silicone anti drain back valve. This prevents dry starts, and this is the number one cause of engine wear. Think of a dry start like starting your car after you changed the oil, the oil pump must fill the entire oil filter with oil before it goes to the engine. This means that the engine is running without oil for a few seconds. When cars sit around, cheap seals on the oil filter allow oil to drip out into the oil pan and a silicone valve prevents this. I think this is the reason Crown vics with Motorcraft filters last longer than those without. Just an FYI I currently own an 08 Crown vic with 143k miles.Read more

I always use motorcraft filters when changing the oil on my 2013 expedition. This is the first time purchasing it off of Amazon. I usually get it from the Ford dealership. The motorcraft filter is the best choice (in my opinion) for the 5.4 3v as it has a backflow preventer that stops you from having dry starts. The price and delivery speed on this are great! My only question is… Is this product genuine ford motorcraft? The filters I purchase from the Ford dealership had the motorcraft logo and the filter model printed directly on the filter. It’s printed on each side. The filter I received as sold by Amazon has a sticker on it with the logo rather than being printed directly on the filter. This has me questioning the authenticity of this filter. I still installed it and it fits well. Hopefully it’s not garbage that will damage my truck….Read more

If you have the 09-14 5.4l 3 Valve Triton engine in your F150 – ONLY USE THIS OIL FILTER. There is a backflow valve that keeps some of the oil in the engine when the motor is turned off. The aftermarket filters let all the oil run back into the pan. So every time you start the engine, the motor runs dry for about 10sec. Not a big deal, but if you do that over 3-5 years, you WILL have engine failure. So just make it simple and only buy the OEM Motocraft oil filter.Read more

Stop buying the after-market filters and stay with what the manufacture puts on your vehicles engine! I have used OE filters on my 2005 Mercury Mountaineer AWD since it was new! My SUV had 2 miles on it, it now has 238,000 miles on the engine, no oil leaks, runs like it was brand new! And FYI, never use HIGH MILEAGE OIL! It has additives that breakdown all the rubber oil seals in your engine. Those particles float around in your engine, many too small to be captured by your oil filter. HIGH MILEAGE OIL destroys your engine, it does not help it!Read more

Hoping the new filter I got is legit. It feels and looks of the same quality, but the oil filter socket design on the top has changed. Thats the only thing that seems weird to me. The sticker instead of the painted numbers is normal, thats how they come now. I’m just wondering if the new top pattern is a new normal design or not. Motorcraft filters are great filters. I worked at a Ford Dealership for years, and to this day, it is still what I use on my truck.Read more

Motorcraft oil filters are one of the biggest bang for the buck. At just over $3, you just can’t buy a better oil filter for your money. It has a unique design that makes sure you don’t have dry starts. Compared to $10 to $20 oil filters, it does lack synthetic fiber filtering, but that won’t matter if you change your oil around 5,000 to 8,000 miles with synthetic oil. I wouldn’t recommend any higher mileage than that for oil changes with this filter. 3,000 mile oil changes are a waste of precious oil and your money. All of that doesn’t matter because by using Motorcraft oil filters, you are extending the life of your engine by reducing dry starts. Compared to the orange Fram (can of death) oil filter, which is around the same price, this is light years ahead in oil filtering and engine wear.Read more

The media could not be loaded. The boxes were in shreds. Filters are contaminated with grey dust. Cannot use them and I am canceling my other order as of today. Pathetic. It’s the right filter “motorcraft” just filthy contaminated and unsat. I dont think it was done during shipping due to one of the bottom of the boxes is not in the bag.Read more

Preface: Did not fit my late-2009 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor! Please check your oil filter and cross-reference parts so you don’t make the same mistake I did. Motorcraft makes a solid filter almost custom built for the Ford Crown Victoria. After doing several oil changes and filter swaps it’s been kept running solid and smooth. After every new startup the engine just glides along and the filter hasn’t disappointed. All filters came in excellent condition and after every swap I haven’t seen cracks or any deficiencies. Will not work with some larger oil filter wrenches so buy an adjustable one if you can help it. Note: This filter is good for Crown Vic and other Panther platform vehicles pre-2009. Late availability vehicles (like most 2009-2011 Crown Vic PIs) switched to a different thread type that year and take the Motorcraft FL-910S filters instead.Read more

I believe this is a good filter to use with Fords as you know it has a antidrainback valve, so oil pressure is supplied right on start up. It is a Ford Product.Read more
