To start, one has to realize that this is a $13 music stand, and it was shipped for free. It is what it is. That said, I find that it’s a screaming deal. I am using mine to hold my iPad while on the bike trainer indoors (I don’t care for the iPad holders that affix to the handlebars just FYI). My stand is extended to it’s limit in height, and with the heavy tablet (in a heavy protective case), the stand is a little wobbly because it’s top heavy. Not in a way where there is any danger of falling, and it doesn’t wobble on its own – it only wobbles if I push on it. I’m cool with that. I find this perfect for a starter music stand, a kids’ stand (can be as low as 2′ or so all the way up to around 3.5-4′ where I have mine), and even an iPad stand. Albeit I didn’t have very high expectations, but the stand exceeded them.Read more

My 9 year old needed a music stand to practice his instrument. He put it together by himself and easily stands it up and puts it away, without my help. It holds his folder and music book with ease. I would buy this again.Read more

I definitely do not recommend buying this music stand. Very shoddily made and unable to hold more than a single piece of sheet music without collapsing. The first time I attempted to tighten the base of the stand the plastic collar snapped in half. The rack made of such lightweight metal that it would not hold a Real Book without buckling. I would spend the $30 up front to buy a decent stand or you can do what I did and spend $15 on this one only to turn around in a week and spend another $30 to buy something that will last through more than one song.Read more

Best transportable music stand I’ve ever owned: Transportable: If you just loosen the thumbscrews and collapse it, it’s collapsed size is 17″ by 3″. Many stands only have 2 pieces, and so collapse into a much longer size. Timed it, 9 seconds. If like me you need to put it into a briefcase, you just loosen the thumbscrews and pull the 3 pieces apart and collapse the feet and stand. 14″ by 3″. 13 seconds. I don’t bother with the bag that comes with it because if you tighten the thumbscrews it holds together as one compact piece. Adjustable: The rack can be tilted to any angle and set at a height from 24 to 45 inches. Once set, tighten the thumbscrews and it stays set, even if you hit it or put a heavy book on it. Holds the music: The rack is standard size, and in addition has two ears that stick up high, so that the big clip that comes with it can grab the top of the music and an ear no matter how tall the music it happens to be, but for most stuff if you have a page that wants to turn on its own, etc., you can swing those little springy things in picture 4 up to rest on the music, which they do with just enough pressure to hold it, but loose enough so it is easy flip the page fast. And the springy things are attached to the stand so they never get lost. Sturdy enough: If it was as sturdy as a concert stand, it would also be too heavy to carry around. It is sturdy enough so that, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. One caution: If you take the stand apart into 3 pieces for more compact storage, which most people won’t need to do, be sure to tighten the thumbscrews snug. if you don’t, and if the thumbscrews work loose while you are carrying it around, they or a little plastic piece can fall out and go hide in a crack somewhere. If you remember to tighten the thumbscrews after you take it apart, this can’t happen. If you only collapse the stand without taking it apart, as most people will do, this can’t happen, though I do suggest tightening the thumbscrews after you collapse the stand. Great service: I took the stand apart into 3 pieces and didn’t tighten the thumbscrews and the little plastic part fell out. I texted the company on Amazon, and 4 days later got two of the little plastic parts in the mail, I guess an extra in case I mess up again, from a company that only got $12.99 for the stand. Best computer stand you can buy: Nowadays you can buy and extremely thin second screen for a computer, like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013XFJKGI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1., that fits on this stand perfectly. The clip and spring holds the monitor on securely, and the combination is far more adjustable than any computer stand I can buy; I can adjust it so it sets the monitor right by my laptop screen no matter where I sit.Read more

It’s a great price for music stands but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who wanted to stand while playing. First of all, even fully extended it’s very short. I’m 5’5 and I would have to look down quite a bit in order to use it while standing. If I had to guess, this is more for someone about 6 in shorter than me. The next problem is it is completely disassembled in order for it to fit into the bag. I don’t have a problem doing this as a photographer and I’m used to handling lighting equipment but most of the time when you’re dealing with something like this there are stoppers in place on the extenders. Not so with this case. You really have no idea how tall you can make the thing before the whole thing pops out and falls apart in your hands. Hope that makes some sense I’ll take photos. The next problem I found right out of the box. that was when you go to put your paper onto the stand they have a little holders that are spring activated that are supposed to keep the paper and place in case there’s any wind in the room. The one on the left is completely out of place and because they’re only springs they can’t be pushed back into place. The engineering on this one misses the mark with almost everything. I’d also like to point out that the folding mechanism for the stand is merely six rivets. Which means over time, the rivets will loosen and the stand will be completely useless. It’s exactly what happened with my last one which is why I bought this. Needless to say, this was not a good purchase. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone not even a musician on a budget. Save up your money, spend a couple more bucks, and get something that’s going to last. The first picture shows the lack of stopper, the second photo is of the loose rivets and lastly is a general idea of the size and poor quality. I only took them in case the seller tried to give me a hard time with the return.Read more

When my now 8 year-old son started his violin lessons 2 months ago, I thought that just having the proper musical equipment is enough for him to get started. However, whenever I see him practice at home, I noticed that his posture seems a little bit awkward while he plays the instrument. Then I noticed that he’s looking down on his musical sheets that he so meticulously arranged on the floor! That’s when I decided to get him a music stand. What I love about this product, aside from the price, is it’s portability. It comes with its own carrying case. My son can fold his music stand nicely and fit it in the case so easily. So far, he uses it for loose sheets of paper and thin music books. Plus, it takes up tiny amount of space in his room therefore, he just let it stand in the corner when he’s not using it. It is also where he keeps his music sheets organized. Now I know that a music stand is also an essential tool for a budding musician because it is difficult to look down at the music sheets on a table, bed, or floor and still play the instrument comfortably. I am happy with my purchase and this music stand is absolutely perfect for beginners.Read more

overall fast and easy to set up. nice little carry pouch came with, and a notebook “open page” type clip” whicvh was a nice and unexpected touch. .. one of the bottom paper holder thingies is a bit loose and kind of flails around a bit which is annoying, but I think a quick whack with a rod and hammer near the bracket that holds it down at it’s pivot point will tighten that up easily enough. Overall, an excellent purchase considering the very affordable price.Read more

I needed a music stand that was light, folded up and yet provided me with the ability to read my music when I play in public. I am 63 and have some health issues. So I needed this type of stand. It can hold a full one-inch binder easily. But I broke the legs the second time using it. It was my fault I tapped my foot against it and it snapped. I am bit of a McGyver so I fixed it using a couple of small bolts and nuts. It is much stronger now. My advice is to not be rough with it. Otherwise, it is fine for non-professional use. The price is great.Read more

The product itself – and only due to the defective nut/bolt combination for the top part – is a 4. It would have probably been a 5 without this hiccup. I am giving it a 5 because of the quality of the rest of the stand in general and a great customer service we encountered while dealing directly with the seller.Read more

Great little portable stand. Keeps papers in place easily and is great for outdoor band performances. It is very light, easy to fold, and doesn’t bend in the wind. Stays up when it is tightened. We bought this as a gift for a family member and has worked out well.Read more
