Always Looking for the Truth –
Well, for as many puzzles as my husband and I have put together, one would think this one would be a “piece of cake”. It was not. It was very challenging, and took us about 4 times longer to assemble than most other puzzles with 1000 pieces. Some of the colors are vivid, which made it easy to find their place – BUT – some of the reds and orange pieces look the same – depending on the lighting situation. LOTS of the other pieces are very difficult to place, as the shades and hues of the mushrooms depicted are so subtle. We thoroughly enjoyed putting this one together – all of the pieces were there, and we will most likely not dismantle it for awhile, as I want to identify a lot of them. The names are, I believe, in French – so I’ll have to translate them to English. Also – don’t count on the numbered pieces helping you find their places, because they are really not in any coherent, consecutive order. All in all, we loved it. Don’t expect to assemble it over a weekend – it took us a few weeks, just working on it at night and a bit on Sundays. It was a difficult, satisfying puzzle, that we are glad we ordered.Read more

This puzzle was very disappointing, The pieces were very thin and still connected to each other. They appeared to have not been cut completely through – so you just had to put together clumps of pieces. Didn’t want to pull apart and rip pieces. Final and major issue is the names of the mushrooms on the bottom are in FRENCH. No where in the description says this a French puzzle. The description says made in USA – but our official language is English – so wouldn’t even expect to the puzzle to be in French! So over all – poorly made product, with terrible quality and in a French language!Read more

I thought the language on this puzzle was in English bu was disappointed to see it was in French. I would have liked to read about the names of the different mushrooms. I should have known better by the name of the artist. Oh well, I am going to regift at a puzzle exchange. All the pieces were there just had a few pieces that were not cut properly and would not pull apart easily when emptying out the pieces.Read more

I was quite pleased with the quality of this company’s puzzles and value for price. Admittedly, the price was more than I would prefer to pay, but the puzzle was quite nicely made. The only negative point is that the pieces are not fully interlocking. While this isn’t a serious issue in the core of the puzzle, if you’re like me and put the edge together first, you might want to put a cloth on your puzzle table to help keep the edge pieces in place until you can lock them in. Would I buy another puzzle from this company? Absolutely.Read more

After doing NY Puzzle Company’s “Birds of Western North America” (great puzzle, not quick or easy, meditative), I decided to try this one. I liked it even better. The images are high quality. The pieces were all there and fit together well. I like the random shapes. At the finish, if you move from looking for color blocks to looking for the right shape, it comes together at a reasonable pace. FYI: the text at the bottom is in French. Thus the word “Champignon” in the title.Read more

This puzzle is great quality and fun to put together. It’s just challenging enough to be engaging without feeling frustrating. I have many people who saw my social media post about it asking to borrow this.Read more

This puzzle is well made. It’s challenging to assemble but fun as there are some funky, unexpected puzzle shapes. It has a matte finish, which I really like because where we do puzzles the light can reflect off the puzzles sometimes and make it harder to work on shiny puzzles. I agree with the other reviewer…this puzzle looks very good when assembled.Read more

Nice matte finish and groovy shaped pieces. Matching all of the crazy shapes and similar colors was tough. Took a good long time to do but will share with friends who may need a good challenge. Will buy more of the New York Puzzle goods.Read more
