When I put my waffle maker in the cart these EZ Grab Tongs were offered at the bottom of the product page. So they were more of a impulse buy then a item we were seeking. From reading many reviews I did know going in that they were short. When they arrived I will admit that grandma and I thought perhaps they were another gadget for our junk drawer. However , they have turned out to be a must have to our waffle making. Without these tongs I am certain that the process would be more difficult. I am about 5’3″ about average height, my hands are proportionate for my size. Leaving me wondering why some reviews say that they are too small for Adult hands? In my opinion it is more Awkward to use a larger set of tongs for waffles, after attempting to use a larger pair without the prongs . It’s been a few months now of using my EZ Grab Tongs. I prefer to use them with my waffle maker over anything else. I would definitely recommend this product to others.Read more

While the tongs are well-made, be warned that these are like 4″ long overall. I expected something the size of a regular spatula, but they’re about half that size. I feel like I’m using a child’s toy when I use them, and they’re far too small to be of much use with my quad waffle maker. They’d be okay for one waffle square, maybe. They were an inexpensive addition to my waffle iron purchase so I’m not too upset, but knowing how tiny they are I wouldn’t buy them again that’s for sure.Read more

I used this to try to get waffles out of the waffle maker. It was a utensil recommended when I purchased the waffle maker. While you may be able to use this for something else’s it’s not a good utensil for the waffle maker. It’s also hard to close. It reminds me of something you would exercise your hand with. I would have returned this however, I missed the window of opportunity because waffles are not something I make all the time and therefore did not get to test this within the time frame.Read more

Sturdy little flipper. Keep in mind that this is a very short utensil. Unlike some tongs, these are always in an open position. There is no lock to keep it closed, which is fine because it really doesn’t need it. But that also means that it doesn’t open real wide– again, don’t really need it for waffle use. We use it for use with our Belgian waffle maker. I think it works great. Rather use this than poke my waffles with a fork. I’m 5’10” and have large lady hands. My fingers are short and my palms are wide. I have no issue operating this flipper. Why am I tell you this? I mention this because other reviews have said that it is too small to use? Nah. I wouldn’t use it in a piping hot cast iron pan with boiling oil, but to safely and easily handle waffles off the waffle maker? yeh, totally fine. Some of you make it sound like it came from Barbies Dream Kitchen lol I purchased mine when it was around the $6-7 mark. That is the most I would spend on this. I see they list it as an $18 item.. no. It is well made, but it isn’t an every day item (well, unless you make waffles everyday. Can I live with you?) It’s fine. I like it. We use it. I have no issue with it. Full rating. PS, I have had it for 10 months, no issues.Read more

I haven’t used these yet, because I purposely bought them to life waffles off my waffle baker. Since I haven’t “baked” any waffles yet as just received the waffle baker yesterday, I look forward to trying these out. Bear in mind they take quite an effort to bend??? but perhaps this will not remain a problem as my hands tend to cramp easily. They appear to be of good quality, however. The one thing, and the thing that I look “askance” at is they are Short — length of handle is approximately 5 1/8”; length of “spatula is 2.5”; length of “fork” is 1/34”. I would caution those with arthritis in their hands or fingers to re-consider purchasing these. I could describe the amount of pressure it takes to squeeze together the handles to grab waffles and such is comparable to the hand grips used to exercise the hand by squeezing and releasing. Also, I may return them if they just aren’t long enough for the job without my hands getting burnt on the sides of the waffle baker or the heat the waffle baker exudes. I measured the length of the “handles” to be 5 1/8 inches. The length of the “spatula” to be 2.5 inch from where they connect to the handles to where the “teeth” bend downwards. I am disappointed that these measurements were not included in the description which follows: Norpro 1975 Grip-EZ Grab and Lift Silicone Tong • Stay-cool handles with thumb and finger indentations for nonslip control • Eliminate the risk of using metal forks with electric waffle makers • Prevent scratches to nonstick plates • Silicone prongs fit neatly into pockets to secure waffles without tearing; dishwasher-safe The description found below the section on “Special Offers and Product Promotions”: Silicone prongs on this waffle utensil fit neatly into pockets to grip without tearing the delicate texture of golden-crisp waffles. Silicone spatula base glides under waffles, while preserving grid surface. Eliminate the risk of using metal forks with electric waffle makers. These silicone tongs prevent scratches to nonstick plates. Stay-cool handles with thumb and finger indentations for nonslip control. Dishwasher-safe.Read more
