Love these so far! Have a bully that lives to chew. So far, he is very pleased with this ring and it’s pretty okay for tug of war as well. These seem like they will last a while. They’re very thick and seem to be well made. As long as the babe is happy, I am too. Update – we came home today to find our second dog, a beagle lab mix, chewing one of these. We heard a snap noise and looked down to find him looking confused. The dog toy was fine, but looking next to it we found a piece of molar tooth. This bone snapped our dogs tooth IN HALF! I don’t know whether it was the design, the construction, or how our dog approached chewing on this bone particularly, but we have never had any issue with other bones in his whole entire life. Now we need to have dental surgery done on him due to this toy. I cannot recommend this product at all – in fact, at this point I’d recommend you avoid it AT ALL COSTS!!Read more

UPDATE: should have went with my gut when I was worried it was too hard. Broke my dog’s back molar right in half. Tooth extraction cost almost $1,000. Most expensive toy ever. Pic attached. Original review: Very hard. Could break teeth. Dog likes it. She’s goes thru toys SO FAST because she’s a manic, so it’s nice this one lasts a bit longer.Read more

I have two large breed dogs that run through toys labeled as indestructible. Sometimes I’ll buy them toys and have to throw the toys in the trash on the same day that I bought them. My dogs both chew on this Nylabone Ring and we’ve had it now for months. The ring is only scratched up from the rough chewing. No broken off pieces at all. This ring seems to keep their teeth cleaner too which is great. I’d buy this again for my dogs if I ever have to. If this review was at all helpful to you please let me know by clicking on helpful. Horrible if your dog is an aggressive chewer. In a very short time it was so full of sharp projections where he had chewed that it felt uncomfortable holding it in my hand and wondered if he was going to injure the soft tissues in his mouth. The vet said these nylabones can cause dogs to crack their teeth. I threw it away as soon as he wasn’t looking.Read more

Honestly, this is one of about 5 of 50 “aggressive chewer” toys that I have purchased for my King Shepherd that actually has lasted. She packs it around like a pacifier on days when it’s too wet to take a vigorous walk or the two days per week that I have long work hours and she is kenneled. It has no odor that we have ever noticed, leaves no stain, goo or residue on surfaces and she’s had it for over 6 months. The only thing that is MILDLY irritating is after months of chewing, it has scratchy edges all over it, so if it’s on a carpet or soft bed, or she brings it to me when I have shorts on, it may scratch a little, not enough to be a problem on hardwood or soft flooring, more like Velcro ribs, however, this is a valuable compromise!!!! It’s deal with this minor issue or have a dog chew through their kennel or eat your shoes, what’s the better deal????Read more

My 50-55lb dog is a big fan of the Nylabone Ring. She enjoyed it immediately and has continued to chew this toy for a couple years. I just purchased a replacement – about 1 year after the last one. The first one of these she inherited from another dog and did manage to chew through the ring and then started chewing bits off, so it needed to be taken away. That took quite a long time, and I just replace them before it gets to that point now. Small pieces will come off while they chew the bone. Some of these they will swallow (but she’s never had any issues passing the small bits) and others will just fall on the floor. My one complaint about this bone is that it gets VERY sharp edges, and when they leave it all over the floor, stepping on it or running into it can be painful. Also, if you have a dog that pushes toys on your lap, this can scrape the skin, or delicate fabrics. Despite that, this toy remains a favorite and I don’t see any way to prevent the edges becoming sharp, so I stand by 5 stars. One of the best benefits of this toy was being able to teach my dog that this is for chewing and her plushies are for gentler play. The bone is already fairly inexpensive for how long it lasts and has saved us a lot of money on plush toys since she no longer destroys them in minutes (this does require training and guidance – the toy doesn’t work miracles 🙂 )Read more

We have a small terror rescue dog and she is an avid chewer… no matter what I give her it is ravaged shortly, but it keeps my furniture safe… which was a target of hers at first (by the way… little tip, put Vicks Vapor Rub on furniture chew zones and that stopped the chewing in it’s tracks 🙂 This ring (I bought the big size) is invincible!!! she has had it for about a month now I would say and has barely gnawed on it, it will take her a long time to get through that is for sure and adds to her variety of chew toys. I do see her quite often with this one between her paws and just a munchin. Funny to see her drag around this heavy thing in her mouth, looks like a big door knocker. She does not seem to mind the weight and size even though she is only 16 lbs. Thank you for making indestructible alternatives to keep our pooch’s happy. (and me as well for saving my furniture… yeah!)Read more

I was so happy to find this on Amazon, as I never see it at Petsmart anymore. This is our Australian Cattle Dog’s ABSOLUTE favorite toy. We got it right after adopting her when we realized she was a chewer. She never destroyed another part of our house or furniture again. We thought she may grow out of it, but three years later she still HAS to have it. She chews on it every day and we have never had her chew down it down to nothing! (We did hear about this from a friend who went through 3 in a year because he would chew them down to a stump, so I know it’s possible). Anyway! It’s been so safe for her, we can always leave it out, even when we aren’t home because it doesn’t break off in sharp pieces. The only warning I will give to the humans is that, if you step on it while walking around in the dark you might cry. It is worse than stepping on legos! A small price to pay to have a happy pup and intact furniture!Read more

Bought this for our husky cross who was always chewing the very end of the Nylabones and then getting bored with it, so wanted to try a ring. He’s a big dog and so far it’s held up, has already lasted more than 48hours and doesn’t look like it’ll be done with anytime soon! Ideally as it’s labelled giant I would have liked it to have been a tad thicker but it’s okay. Love that it’s a ring, dog doesn’t seem to be getting bored of it yet and now he chews the whole thing not just the corners so really hoping it may last longer then the large nylabones as it’s actually harder for him to chew! Reasonable priced at £6.50 too!Read more

I’m so glad that the UK distribution arm of Nylabone have at last decided to stock these as it saves me sending to the USA for them. A ring always lasts much longer than a bone shaped version because the circumference is always bigger than any of the straight bone shapes. Once it gets down to about 2 inches long any chew toy / teeth cleaner of this nature must be discarded in case they choke on the last bit. And yes, it’s a great teeth cleaner for your dog. Much better than the chew versions that go straight down without touching the sides.Read more

Have spent hundreds of pounds on dog toys that claim to be indestructible, and so far after months of my Doberman chewing on this he has not managed to ruin it, he has given it a good go though, yes you can tell he has sunk his teeth into it but that’s to be expected, well worth buying.Read more

I bought this Nyla bone for my three-year-old labrador retriever it is very strong thick and durable it is very good for him to carry around and to chew one this will last him quite a long while however he is not so keen on the fact it has no flavouring he personally prefers Nyla bones with an added texture or flavourRead more
