Outsidepride Mother of Creeping Thyme Ground Cover Plant Seeds – 10000 Seeds 1 B) 10000 Seeds
Edge the borders of your herb, flower or vegetable garden with Mother of Thyme seed. It is low-growing and spreading, with spikes of lavender bloom clusters. Mother of Thyme blooms all summer long, and the foliage is an evergreen in most locations. Easy-to-grow from Creeping Thyme seeds, this creeping plant is also used between paving-stones or bricks in walk ways.
Mother of Thyme is a hardy perennial, handling summer heat and winter cold. Once it is established is can withstand periods of drought although moderate watering helps it perform its best. Butterflies and bees devour the Mother of Thyme herb blooms yet deer and rabbits seem to leave it alone.
Directly sow Creeping Thyme seeds outdoors after frost danger has passed. Prepare a seed bed, loosening the soil and weeding it. Scatter the Thyme seeds and press the seeds firmly into the soil. Keep the ground cover seeds consistently moist.
If you want to get a jump start on the ground cover plants, sow the herb seeds indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last frost. Transplant the young seedlings into the garden 12 inches apart.
Sowing Rate: 5,000 seeds covers approximately 100 square feet with an average germination time of 14 – 21 days

if i could give it 0 stars i would. i always try to give the seller the benefit of the doubt so, regardless of the poor reviews, i tried this product. i am terribly disappointed. the other buyers werent kidding when they said nothing grew except grass. in fact, it is my personal opinion that those are crab grass seeds not thyme seeds because crab grass came in abundantly. i would not recommend this product to anyone unless it was their goal to grow crab grass.Read more

Ordered these seeds for a hillside, thought it would be an excellent ground cover. The seeds sprouted almost immediately but what has grown is absolutely not creeping thyme. whatever sprouted is growing straight up in the air as if it is some sort of tall grass, maybe crab grass. Pretty disappointed that the wrong seeds were packaged in the creeping thyme package.Read more

What a waste of money! And don’t be fooled by the illustration–this seed doesn’t come in a shaker, it’s just a small paper packet. No way there’s 10,000 seeds in the packet, it’s just not possible. And “planting” them is a joke. The “seeds” are like black pepper–you can’t even see where you’re dropping them. And 3 weeks later… nothing.Read more

I ordered these seeds to fill in the gaps between the stones in my 500+ square feet of paths and patio. I carefully reset the stones placing them 3″ or more apart, dug out the gaps to a depth of 6″, and filled the gaps with new soil. At first I used pure Miracle Grow bagged garden soil, then after about 100 sq ft I began mixing the bagged soil (which is not soil at all, but rather almost entirely organic material) with soil (dirt) from my yard 50/50. When finished I distributed the seeds with a homemade shaker using sand as a diluting medium. In the areas where I mixed the soil the seeds began to germinate in 30 days and the plants have grown very well since. In the area where I used pure bagged soil zero seeds had germinated after 75 days. After 90 days a few tiny plants have begun appear, in these cool wet fall days. I believe they did not germinate earlier because the bagged soil could not retain enough water to keep the seeds moist continuously, even though I ran my sprinkler system 3 times per day. I was surprised to see that the resulting plants were not the same as the “coccineus thymus praecox” that I have previously purchased in pots from local nurseries. The “mother of thyme” seeds produce a plant with much larger leaves and grow 3″ to 5″ tall compared to 1″ to 2″ for the nursery plants. I believe the mother of thyme plants will be too tall to work well in the spaces between stones in my paths, but they may work very well on the boundaries on either side of the paths. I will probably be doing lots of transplanting to get the two different varieties of red creeping thyme to the appropriate locations.Read more

I put these seeds in flour to spread them easier and to count them. My guess is that I received about 1000 seeds. Anxious to see how they come up, but disappointed that I don’t believe there were anywhere close to 10,000 seeds. I order often from Outsidepride and trusted them. I hope this thyme is healthy.Read more

these took a long time to bloom. didn’t bloom until a month ago and very few purple flowers but the plant overflowed my planter. Seems to require a lot of water. Prefers moist soil and partial shade. It will burn up in full sun and heat.Read more

I purchased 3 packages of 10,000 seeds but the contents were mislabeled and what I received was 3 packages of 500 seeds. The SKU on the reverse of the packages was what I ordered but the contents were not. Naturally, I did not notice until after I planted the seeds and examined the packages. Needless to say, what I received was less expensive and even the wrong color for my garden. I kept the packages as proof.Read more
