Paula’s Choice is overpriced. I saw no good effects. Buy the Niacinimide from The Ordinary-Deceim Website. It’s about seven dollars. I’m done with overpaying.Read more

I watched a YouTube video of Dr. Dray (a dermatologist/influencer) reviewing this Paula’s Choice 20% Niacinamide Treatment and was disappointed to see that, despite the fact that she hadn’t even tried it, she gave a very negative critique. The upshot of her diagnosis was that 4 – 6% concentrations of niacinamides had been clinically tested and found to be effective, but there was no research to support that a higher concentration would necessarily be better. And in her opinion, there were various reasons she believed it would be less effective or possibly completely ineffective. Since I had already ordered this, I was a bit crestfallen. Now, I’ve never tried any other strictly niacinamide serums so I have nothing to compare this with, but I’m here to report that Dr. Dray should have at least tried this stuff before dismissing it. Because after just three nights of use, I can see improvements in my skin. This isn’t hyperbole. I was quite surprised and pleased at the results. While I can’t say my pores looks smaller (and I don’t think that’s really a thing), the texture of my skin looks finer and the color more rose-y. The consistency of the formula is quite thin. Just a bit thicker than water. It leaves a fairly sticky residue so I don’t think it would work well as a day treatment (particularly if you wear foundation). It has no added fragrance and only the slightest scent. The bottle is small and the cost is high, so use sparingly. A little goes a long way. While I can’t say this is any better than 4 – 6% concentrations of niacinamide, I must respectfully disagree with Dr. Dray and conclude that there’s just no way this is less effective because it works great.Read more

I have some sebaceous hyperplasia and this does help make those spots smaller. It remains to be seen if eventually it goes away completely but I doubt it will, so I will likely need to continue using this to keep them looking smaller and less pronounced. I use it once per day, at night, along with my other normal skincare such as retinol and bha on alternate nights, and a moisturize and suncreen during the day. Sure this is expensive, but it does work.Read more

This serum shrinks pores, but I actually saw significant improvement in my hyperpigmentation within just a few days of using it! After a month my dark marks are almost gone, yay! Normally it takes a year to get rid of them so I’m super impressed.Read more

I’ve been using a few different types of Niacinamide for awhile but this one REALLY makes a noticeable difference in skin texture and even skin tone. I dare say this is a Holy Grail product. I am halfway through the bottle and will repurchase.Read more

Paula’s choice niacinamide 20% was too strong for my skin. What I’v noticed is my skin reacted thus making large have an adverse effect which enlarged my pores and my skin skin elasticity worse. Do not mix with other serums as I’ve found it to cause allergic reaction. OF course this ay work beautifully for some but for the price it really isn’t worth it. However, the nicacinamide 10% of Paula’s choice works fine but honestly the effecacy is about the same as ordinary. The only major difference is Paula’s choice is so much more watery than the ordinary.Read more

My skin got very dry, yet ruff and bumpy. It’s like it was going through something (getting older) and just wasn’t happy. At first I did not think this would work for me but I kept with it. About 2 or 3 wks in I noticed the improvement I was looking for. This with Paula’s resist smoothing exfoliant (always been my #1) has turned my skin around. This is my new got to have!Read more
