So, I ordered these pens – advertised as a box of 12, clearly. I received one pen and returned it. Confirmed the description said 12 pens (one box) and reordered. FAIL. One single pen again instead of a dozen. This is either stupidity or fraud. The pens themselves have been excellent. I would like my order completed accurately, please, Jeff. Pay attention to business and not the skirts, or lose them both.Read more

These pens are my absolute favorite! I am a bit of a pen snob and have made pen switches over the years in search of the perfect pen. I believe I have finally found that pen! These pens do NOT skip…a huge problem I have run into with other pens. And these pens do NOT bleed. So when I first make initial contact with my paper, there is not a larger blob of ink that bleeds. It leave perfectly clean and even lines from the beginning of the letter to the end. I have been so pleased with these! I talked them up that my co-workers all tried them. We ended up buying 3 boxes of red, black, and blue for the office because everyone ended up loving them! If you write really small, these might be a bit thick for you…but I find their thickness to be perfect.Read more

These pens have about the best rating on Amazon, and I can see why. It’s difficult to rate the pens on what is probably a personal problem, but this is my opinion. The pens write great, with nice dark black, crisp defined lines. They look good, they write good, they feel good in the hand. I really, really liked them after first trying them. Then they start to leak in my shirt pocket. I do want to mention, I tend to press down harder than most when I write, so it is probably more due to me than the pens themselves. So while they may, and probably will, be a fantastic option for most users, I have to rate them just 3 stars since I had to throw 5 of the 6 away prematurely due to leaks. If you are also heavy-handed in your penmanship, be aware. Everyone else, try them. They are quite good.Read more

The Pilot V7 is my favorite pen for letter writing and note taking. It flows smoothly over paper and is a joy to use. The ink is bold but not too bold. The colors are vivid and beautiful. These pens write well over a variety of paper. The RT model features a comfort pad for extended writing, which is nice upgrade over the classic Precise model. There are three considerations to keep in mind with these pens as they use liquid ink. First, it can take a second for the ink to fully absorb and dry on paper. It dries faster than fountain pens I’ve used but still, be mindful of smudging for the first second or so after writing. Second, be careful of carrying these in your pocket. If the button is even slightly depressed, the ink can bleed out slowly. (I recommend models with a cap for pocket carry.) Third, I do not recommend storing these long term with the tip down, such as in a cup with other pens. For best results, store them on their side (horizontally). With these things in mind, you can get a wonderful writing experience with these pens.Read more

After using a pen I got from a random Marriott in Salt Lake City, I knew I’d found my pen-mate. It was amazing, passionate, and comfortable. It was reliable, always there for me, and could even predict what I was going to write… In all seriousness, it was the perfect pen. But of course, when it dried out and passed on, I couldn’t find it again. So I went on a search to find the perfect pen, based off of what I already knew to be my dream pen. I am pleased to say that the Pilot Precise V7 RT is the next best thing to that elusive, bereaved hotel pen. The Pilot V7 has the perfect weight to it. It’s barely noticeable in your hand, an extension of it. I have relatively long fingers, but the pen fits perfectly in my hand and my three resting fingers lay perfectly on the comfortable rubber grip. It has a thin writing tip and the letters come out in perfect width for what I’m looking for. I write notes all the time for my clients to read when I’m done with resolving their PC issues, and every word is crafted and filled. It barely ever misses a stroke. The ink is a perfect black. The retractable has a great click and tactile feedback. The pen itself is aesthetically high class looking, a sleek metallic silver; it looks expensive. I’m sure that this will be my go to pen from now on when working. At least until I track down that Marriott one…Read more

I’ll keep it short. The color is deep and bold; fountain pen-like. The way the ink flows leaves a line with texture and style; elegant like a fine-tipped fountain pen would be. And, incredibly smooth across the paper. A word about writing style: this pen uses a fine, needle-like tip. I have a lighter touch and the tip works perfectly to create a crisp, well-defined line. If you have a heavier style, where you mash the tip onto the paper, the tip is going to bend. Please don’t leave poor reviews because the tip didn’t hold up. If you buy a bathroom scale that works up to 200 pounds, and you weigh 400 pounds, guess what’s going to happen. It’s not the scale’s fault.Read more

I never thought I’d fault a pen for writing with too much ease, but such is the case for me here. In this techy age, my handwriting has suffered over the years. And I found it bordering on illegible when I use these pens. It just looks and feels too scrawly and blotchy with this free flowing ink. I can’t get used to ink flowing before I’ve even made an attempt. So now I know that I actually require a pen that is responding to a modest amount of pressure from me. I’ve not had this difficulty with ballpoints or gel pens. So I guess I’ll just have to keep trying to get the ones of those with the best flow. All that said, if you’re a super controlled and neat writer whose hand does not tire, or perhaps if you’re at a nook signing and getting into a quick signature flow, these might be the pens for you. And obviously a lot of people love them. I’m glad I tried the thicker v7, which were offered in a two pack, instead of my preferred xfine line in a 12 pack so that I can move on from these shortly.Read more

Buying and collecting various pens and pencils has been my hobby for years. In other words, I am pen addict. While I have used Pilot V5 and V7 pens for years, Pilot Precise V7 RT Retractable Rolling Ball Pens is fairly new addition to my writing arsenal. I have loved original Pilot V7 for precision writing, great control and as a result they produce beautiful handwriting. Pilot Precise RT upgrades original V7 to retractable, more ergonomic and aesthetically better pen. AESTHETICS/DESIGN: Original V5/V7 had no rubber grip, just plastic piece where you hold the pen. V7 RT has nice and soft textured rubber grip. This pen feels more comfortable and balanced in hands. Metal clip looks great and blends nicely in the design. Opaque body lets you see ink level. Original V5/V7 was disposable pen with no refill whereas this pen is refillable. These pens are airplane safe which is great feature for frequent travellers. HOW DOES IT WRITE: I would say it writes like a dream right out of box. I had trouble with original V5/V7 where initially pen tip would feel scratchy and not very smooth. I had to write/draw quite a bit before the needle point start feeling smooth. These pens are super smooth right out of box. Typically, I draw number 8’s to test how smooth tip is in every direction and I found no sign of scratching or resistance. It just keeps going smoothly and silently. If you like crisp, bold and consistent lines, you would like this pen. Colors are vivid and there is no bleeding or smudging. Ergonomics is significantly improved. FINAL THOUGHTS: Pilot Precise V7 RT is significant upgrade for original Pilot V5/V7 pen lovers. It is much smoother, better designed and ergonomically better pen. They are pleasure to write right out of the box. Other pens I recommend trying for writing are Pilot G2 and uni-ball 307 pens. Finally, it comes down to how it feels in your hand and how comfortable the grip feels in your hands.Read more

These are the first Pilot Precise V7 RT that I’ve used and I ordered it based on online reviews. I’ve been using Uni-ball Signo 207 pens for the past several years now and I find the Precise V7’s to be a better writing experience. The ink is noticeably darker and feels smoother. It dries quickly on the notebooks I use and the lines are sharp. On thinner paper, you will see some bleed through though. I’m guess the V5’s would have less of that because of the finer point.Read more

I have had these pens for about 5 years. I still have most of them as I don’t write much. They work well and do the job. However I have ink on a couple of different pieces of clothing from having them in my pocket. You’d think by now this problem with leaking pens would have been solved by now. That’s the reason for the 3 stars. A five star pen would not leak and it would also look really cool and write really well. This pen looks ok and writes better than ok. So 1 out of three things is outstanding and 2 things are average. That’s a 3 star rating maybe 3.5.Read more

Read more

Last couple of years writing for me has become a bit difficult do to slight arthritis. hence pens are something I struggle with. STD Ball Point pens don’t work that well as it requires a bit of pressure. in my younger days I did use Pilot V5, but those too I struggle removing the lid and putting back. when I notice these are retractable, I thought let me give a try. These pens are excellent!!!!, smooth effortless writing. I am planning to get blue ink one’sRead more
