These aren’t your run-of-the-mill lightly salted, whole cashews. These are Planters DELUXE Lightly Salted Whole Cashews. The fancy lettering on the can spelling “Deluxe” goes to show you just how classy these cashews are. I wouldn’t allow my manservant to hand feed me anything but the best. THESE are the best!Read more

The cashews are fine quality but I don’t find the “lightly salted” ones as flavorful as the regular ones. I enjoy the salt and actually need a little more in my diet but I missed the “lightly salted” part and bought these instead of my usual ones. No other problems with them and if you are looking for less salt these would be great for you, just a personal preference on my part. Note – Amazon needs to check the expiration dates on products before sending them out. I was suprised to find that both canisters of the ones I most recently received were well-past the “best if used by” date by the time I received them. I don’t automatically toss something when it gets close to the date but I want the choice of whether to use the product or not under those circumstances to be my choice not someone else’s.Read more

PLEASE NOTE that I seldom buy Planters cashews, but I do once in a while whenever I need to meet Amazon’s $25 free-shipping requirement. — Planters cashews are not as crunchy as I like, but they’re still somewhat tasty. Below I review the 3 different TYPES of Planters cashews which I’ve tried plus the Costco’s (40 oz jar) and Aldi’s (30 oz jar) cashews which I usually buy MOST of the time (on average, one jar each week). — I give each of the 5 products its own rating based on 5 stars (=100%; highly recommended). PLEASE NOTE that, based on my lifetime experience eating cashews, NONE of the 5 products reviewed is as good as the BEST cashews (5 stars; 100%) which I have ever eaten. — Costco’s cashews are consistently 4.5 stars out of 5 stars max. — Aldi’s cashews are consistently 4 stars out of 5 stars max. 1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ADX5WZ2 (MY RATING 4 stars out of 5 stars max) >50% whole nuts Crunchy, tasty mellow nutty flavor, not too salty, NO bitter aftertaste $17.04 for 33oz jar (51.6₵/oz) 2. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FFJ2GRG (MY RATING 3.5 stars out of 5 stars max) >50% whole nuts Crunchy, tasty mellow nutty flavor, not too salty, NO bitter aftertaste $8.58 for 18.25oz jar (47₵/oz) 3. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ULIPL8 (MY RATING 2.5 stars out of 5 stars max) Bits and pieces Too salty, bitter aftertaste $11.62 for 27oz (43₵/oz) 4. 2 types of Aldi’s cashews (MY RATING 4 stars out of 5 stars max) southern-grove-deluxe-whole-cashews-with-sea-salt-30-oz (salted) specially-selected-unsalted-whole-cashews-30-oz (unsalted) >80% whole nuts Crunchy, tasty mellow nutty flavor, not too salty (salted one), NO bitter aftertaste $11.99 for 30oz jar (40₵/oz) 5. 2 types of Costco’s cashews (MY RATING 4.5 stars out of 5 stars max) Kirkland Signature Cashews, 40 ounce (salted) Kirkland Signature Unsalted Cashews, 40 ounce (unsalted) >80% whole nuts Crunchy, tasty mellow nutty flavor, not too salty (salted one), NO bitter aftertaste $16.99 for 40oz jar (42.5₵/oz)Read more

Because of the $ we really thought we would be getting stale cashews, or there would be some other problem – we were extremely happy to find were wrong, & they made a great addition to the snack table! Which don’t know about you, but our family takes the snack table very seriously during family get togethers, because it is all we have to munch on until dinner is served. Cashews are a family favorite, & can get pricey sometimes! We not only Do Recommend these cashews, but have added them to our monthly delivery! (Yes, they were that good!) P.s. You can set them directly under a lamp or a grow light to warm them! Not many snacks beat warm cashews!! WhOle new level of YUM!! Hopefully our review is helpful to you!!Read more

The air-tight container came with no dings or dents, and nothing cosmetically wrong. After opening the intact air seal on top, there was a gush of fresh cashew aroma in the air. The cashews were not broken into pieces, and were whole. The cashews were also not drenched in oil or salt, which is a good thing, as these were from Planters after all! Overall, a good, name brand product that shipped fast, and without incident. Recommended.Read more

I usually buy lightly salted jumbo whole cashews from another company and decided to give these a try since they have subscribe and save available to make it easier to keep them on hand rather than having to buy a lot more of them just to get free shipping. However, the product is nothing like I expected. There are very few whole cashews in the can. You’re better off eating these with a spoon since the majority of the cashews are just tiny pieces. While they are advertised as lightly salted, that appears to only be true for part of the contents. There are some cashew pieces in the can that are like chewing on a mouthful of salt. Definitely not going to be buying these again given their very poor quality control.Read more

Though I got a pretty good deal on Planter’s Lightly Roasted Cashews, I was ever so slightly disappointed. Don’t get wrong, I’m not saying they were bad, they weren’t, I just thought they lacked in flavor a teeny bit. That fresh roasted flavor and smell that you get when you first open and tasted a new can of cashews, just was lacking a bit. The lightly salted, was far too lightly as well, in my opinion. I’ve bought plenty of lightly salted roasted nuts before, and these needed more. I’m not a big salt shaker person, I don’t add salt to hardly anything I eat (seasoning yes) but I do notice when when something needs more salt. Maybe I gotten a few bad batches, ever so slightly under roasted & undersalted? If they are on special, I’d probably take a chance and buy them again though, because like I said, they still are tasty!Read more
