My son likes it enough, but I feel for the price it doesn’t do much. The sprinkler maker is the worst part for me. It definitely does not make sprinkles like shown. You have to be pretty skilled at doing it for it to look like that. The doh just mushes together and makes pieces of play doh and no shape. It’s also a bit hard to hold and press and tilt and turn handle at same time. I don’t care for it. The small impressions to make little balloons and hats, etc are lame. If you shove play doh in it then you have to dig it out or not put the play doh all the way in, but then you won’t get a good impression. The pink dough is the only one big enough to make a cake. You have to combine other colors to make enough dough to fill the cake pan to make a cake. I’m not impressed even though my kid enjoys it but what kid doesn’t enjoy play doh? It’s messy and annoying and they love anything new. I wouldn’t gift it or buy again, but it keeps the kid busy for a bit. I honestly don’t think any of these play doh items are worth the money, but we buy them obviously because the kids enjoy them.Read more

This is a great play-doh set. Super adorable, LOVE how you can fill the pan with “cake batter”, then lock it into the stove and use the lever to make the cake “rise”. The kids are thrilled with it. Couple of things to note: Make sure the cake pan is “locked” into the oven by sliding it’s lower edge under the notches. After pulling the lever, you need to put it back into its original position BEFORE trying to open the oven door. Don’t force it or it could break. Also note that the set will need additional play-doh if you want to make any color of cake other than pink. It comes with enough pink play-doh to make a cake but not enough of any other colors to make a cake. That wasn’t a problem for us, we have PLENTY of play-doh. I only have one complaint about this set, and that is that the colors aren’t precisely as promised (the cake stand that was supposed to be silver according to the picture is actually bright orange). I do wish the tray was actually silver so it would look metal like the cake pan, but oh well. Still a great set.Read more

The issues: Oven is very hard to open, even for me. Makes it frustrating for my son to need help every time and wait while I struggle with it. The sprinkle maker isn’t great. You push it down to make the dough come up and swing the arm around to cut them. However, swinging the arm just cuts them and then kinda mashes them all together. Not the easiest for a young kid to do this without any help either. There are some extra shapes on the top of the oven but they aren’t easy to then pull the dough off of without messing them up once you’re done. You only get one large can (the pink) that’s enough to make a cake. Most of us have a bunch of play doh cans around the house anyhow but that’s a bit annoying if your kid wants options or you want to play with it right out of the box. Overall, it does what it says it will but it could be a lot more little kid friendly.Read more

My kids love playdoh, and we have lots of different sets. This one is disappointing. My four year old can’t play independently with it for long because the oven is hard to open. I have to really tug to get it open myself. It didn’t come with many fun accessories either. There are lots of other sets that are a much better value.Read more
