Setup was easy on my condenser mic. Doesn’t interfere with audio quality. And is much smaller that my prior nylon pop filter, and wind sock. Not disappointed at all.Read more

I didn’t hold out a ton of hope for this little guy, being its small stature, small price and what I assumed were super cheap materials. But for the price (and the promise of free returns) I thought it would be worth a try. I’m glad to report I was very satisfied with its performance. I’m a Composer/Sound Designer and do a ton of voiceover as well. I did a lengthy voice session last night using only this as a pop filter, after testing it extensively for its intended purpose of removing plosives. The thing was great! It wasn’t too bad fitting it over a large condenser mic and using it for side-address positioning. It is definitely a minimalist design, but the construction seems to be good enough to last a long while. Shipping was fast, it came packaged well and the “chemical smell,” a review mentioned wasn’t even an issue. There was a slight smell when first opening the box, but that is what I call, “New Gear Smell,” and I actually like it. It faded fast once unwrapped, btw. I figured I would at least need to use one of the traditional “pantyhose-on-a-hanger” pop filters in front of this device, but I quickly found this wasn’t needed at all. I POPPED the screen many times during my voiceover tests (harder than I would ever need to in a real session) and this thing prevented them all. I do not agree that it prevents unwanted room sound or noise, so I use a big shield attached to the mic stand to accomplish this. The only minor issue I had, is that it does affect the sound slightly, removing some of the high-mid frequencies (I have a deep baritone voice) but this is more of a nitpick, which I corrected using a little EQ to sharpen up that part of the spectrum. All in all, I love this thing! It’s a great solution to a bulky and sometimes very ineffective solution.Read more

Although my mic has a built-in pop filter, my plosives are apparently too much for it, hence I bought this little doodad. Keeps mic-breathing to a minimum as well. I like the metal mesh on the front. It’s smooth (almost soft) to the touch. It was also really easy to affix to my mic, though I wish the hooks for the rubber bands were oriented so that the bands could lie flat against the back of the mic, but that has no bearing on function, so I’m not deducting any points for it. Very happy with this.Read more

This pop filter design was exactly what I was looking for for my HyperX QuadCast to surround and cover up the red light which was a little blinding on from my microphone arm. It was nice that this one did not have any logos. It would have been nice if it were a little taller to cover up the red light a little more, a little bit of the red light is still visible. If you have this microphone than you know what I mean. I gave this a four star because the method to secure the pop filter is the usage of two rubber bands on the top and the bottom. It was difficult to set these up since the enclosure was just large enough to surround the microphone diameter. There were small plastic hooks on each end which were hard to reattach. As I was shifting the filter to align with the red lights vertically; one of the rubber bands became loose and flew out towards the wall. Other than that, the product served what i was looking for.Read more

I was originally using a circular, double layered, nylon pop filter that, I felt, obstructed quite a bit of my vision from my copy. I would say that this filter is either comparable or equal to the level of deflection of the other pop filter. Super easy to install; all you have to do is snap the attached rubber bands onto the cage of your microphone, and you’re good to go. Compatible with all large diaphragm microphones. Recommend! NOTE: It is still important to practice off-axis mic placement to ensure the minimum plosive sounds.Read more

I like the filter functionally. However, there is a serious issue that I want to bring to your attention. It smelled very, very strongly of chemical fumes. I placed it in a bowl of soapy water for days, I stirred it, added more soup, and finally the smell subsided some so i thought maybe the air would take it the rest of the way to no/little smell for me to be comfortable enough to have my face in front of it. I then started using it again. But, it still smelled fumy. I used it anyway because I needed it for a session. Now, weeks later it still smells. A bit better, but still smells like chemical fumes. I reported this to seller several days ago and never heard back. If it didn’t smell so bad and cause a concern for my health with my face so near it breathing the fumes in I would rate it higher.Read more

I didn’t like the look of the traditional round pop filters that clamp on to the mic stand and have a flexi arm so I figured I’d try this one out. I like this design much better since it’s always attached to the microphone and I don’t have to worry about positioning it. It works well with those articulating desk mic arms that streamers use since this design doesn’t need to clamp onto the arm. It’s very compact and looks a lot better in my opinion.Read more
