Wasn’t sure what to expect with this. Honestly way better than I thought. I currently have the HyperX Quadcast, which has an internal pop filter. The internal pop filter isn’t that great though at rejecting plosives. I decided to try this out since, hey it’s only 10 bucks. This actually worked wonders. The sound quality even sounds better. My guess is because it’s rejecting plosives even better now. Just make sure it fits on the mic you have and you should be all set. The only negative, which isn’t that bad, is that it feels cheap. So just becareful when placing it on the mic. It comes with 2 extra rubber bands just in case you break one of them while placing it on the mic. Otherwise I think it’s a great addition to the mic.Read more

Works wonderfully despite the fact that it’s not suppose to fit the Blue Yeti Pro. If you look at my pictures, you’ll see that it comes with three bands that you can use to make it fit. Took no more than a two minutes to get it on the mic. It’ll look a bit weird due to the mic size but it will work and fit so kudos!Read more

It’s a good product. Nothing fancy, but what do you expect for $8 delivered. Didn’t make as much of a difference as I would have liked in mitigating plosives. That said, I’m sure it’s a tradeoff between blocking breath noise and blocking voice noise. Nicely, it came with two replacement rubber straps. Always nice to see little touches like that in products. ***My Rating Criteria*** 5 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you’d expect when purchasing this type of product AND it is a good value 4 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you’d expect when purchasing this type of product, might have a minor flaw 3 Stars: Generally works but I’d change a few things OR Product works great but differs from description/images 2 Stars: Barely works but can be made useful if you try 1 Star: Useless, does not perform it’s intended function whatsoever and is generally a waste of moneyRead more

Works fine, I’d give it 5 if it didn’t seem so fragile, but as long as you don’t go nuts with it, I doubt it’ll break very easily. It does as much as you can expect a screen to do when it comes to actually filtering out plosives, which is not much. Pop filters and wind screens lessen plosives getting into the mic, but do not prevent them entirely. Pop filters were originally built for old ribbon microphones, the ribbon inside of those mics were very fragile, so they put filters to keep out extreme bursts of air and spit from getting to the ribbon, which helped it last much longer, plosives getting lessened was just a bonus. These days, filters like this are mostly just used by audio engineers to keep their talent from getting too close to the mic, and to LOOK professional. To actually avoid plosives, just direct your speaking/singing slightly off axis to your microphone instead of directly towards it. Sounds the same, but less air gets in. That being said, the product does as much as you can expect, and is a decent price.Read more

An acquaintance of mine recommended this style pop filter to me, as we both do professional voice-over work. This style of pop-filter is so much more convenient for narration work because it never block my view of my monitor or script. It it best suited for side-address large diaphragm microphones and seems to do it’s job well. I’m not sure how it would work on a front-address mic, like a dynamic mic, but for side-address, it works well on plosives.Read more

Got this yesterday, put it on my mic, easy install. Noticed a faint chemical smell. I streamed with it for about two hours and it worked fine but noticed I was getting sores on the inside of my mouth. I took a break for a few hours then did my evening stream. The smell began seriously irritating my nose and throat and it got difficult to breathe and the sores spread across the front of the inside of my mouth. I pulled the pop filter off the mic and I could breathe fine again and the sores in my mouth immediately began to subside. This morning I washed the entire filter using palmolive and rinsed it with hot water but the smell is still vaguely there. I have no idea what the residual chemical is that’s still on there but I cannot be in close proximity to it for any amount of time without it irritating the heck out of me.Read more

After unwrapping, this filter absolutely reeked of urethane. Like my 77 sq ft apartment just smelled like chemical for a few minutes after opening it, so outside it went to let the chemicals settle… I thought. I left it outside overnight in the fresh air: still reeked I left it on my porch in the rain for a week: hooo boy hella stinky. I put it in a large, highly fragrant, unlit candle for a week: it still burned my nose but with a confusing dash of lavendar I tried narrowing down the source of the smell to a particular material, and it was a combo of the foam (unremovable) and the rubber bits. Which are all critical to the function of the pop filter, which should be right next to your nose when you record. Which I never got to try, because it was giving me headaches just to be in the same room as it. Hard pass, but maybe I got a particularly bad one. Just spend 20 bucks for a normal circly one, or get thrifty and make one out of a coat hanger and an old shirt/pantyhose.Read more

It fits on my TLM 103 and does the job. Avoids Pop and does not add any ringing vibration to the recorded sound. Keeps the desk cleaner and does not block the view of the reading material on the computer screen when doing voiceover.Read more

Read more

Read more

Read more

This is a really great pop filter, and I love the design; it’s like a fitted windscreen/wind sock, but without the muffled sound. Very discreet! It does a wonderful job of reducing plosives and air blasts, and it leaves my voiceover recordings sounding really smooth. Plus, it’s very easy to install!Read more
