If you’re sensitive to coconut and many natural ingredients, definitely give this a try. It’s been a long journey for me! The scent reminds me of being at the farmer’s market. Now I just want to find a good leave-in conditioner.Read more

I am a big advocate of natural cosmetics due to having sensitive skin and thinning hair. I stopped using harsh chemical soaps on my arms and these little bumps went away. I stopped using hair products with heavy chemicals and my hair is strong and healthier than ever! I rely on the EWG to find certified products and it’s been life changing. Using natural shampoo and conditioner takes some getting use too. They don’t lather like traditional shampoos but that is because they lack those specific synthetic chemicals (SLS) who’s purpose is to lather but those chemical are bad for your hair. It’s amazing what one can find out by some research on specific chemicals. Even the biggest name brands harbor some nasty secrets from causing anything from pore clogging to possibly causing hormones issues. This set has very limited ingredients and use soapberries (or “soap nut” which is a natural soap however it can be rather drying so focus the shampoo on your scalp only and conditioner on your ends. You may want to get an organic coconut oil hair mask to combat any dryness on your ends. If you ever get your hands on an actual soapberry, you boil it for 10 minutes and then when you rub it in your hands, you have soap! It’s crazy but it works! I love that this set is free of parabens, alcohols, SLS, PEGs, silicones, and preservatives. All of the ingredients listed are natural!! It does have a funky smell kind of like the smell of wood glue but that is due to the natural processes which I’ll take. The reason why traditional shampoos and conditions smell so lovely is due to all of the added fragrances which is also very bad for skin and hair. This shampoo and conditioner did leave my hair feeling clean and it did lather more than I expected. It did leave my have soft but I’ve used other natural shampoos and conditioners that have really made my hair soft. I am still trying to figure out exactly what ingredient does that. Keep in mind that when you make the switch from heavy chemical shampoos to natural shampoos, your hair will go through a transition period where you may experience more oil than previous however that is temporary. If you can get through that transition period that can last from a few days to a few months, your hair will thank you and so will planet earth! I would recommend this shampoo and conditioner set if you are looking for an all natural product that is environmentally friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Read more

This set of, “Raw & Wild Soap Nut” shampoo and conditioner from Nature Sustained worked a bit better than I expected. I already knew when I ordered this set that the bottles would be smaller than many other shampoo and conditioner bottles, in that they are each only 9oz/266ml. Everything arrived packaged well in a cardboard box, with a lot of shredded paper and such to keep the bottles safe for transit. The bottles are informative, with the directions, ingredients, company information, etc easy to locate. One of the things this shampoo and conditioner set boasts on the listing here, is that they’re not treated with heat, and are a Raw, fermented product. With the first whiff of the shampoo, I could pick up on a slight vinegar-like scent, which makes sense. I found the shampoo to be concentrated well, and foamed easily, so much so that I use a bit less of this shampoo than some others, so keep that in mind when you first use this shampoo, as you may end up using a bit more than necessary to wash your hair. The shampoo washed fine, and though it did not say to do so on the directions, I did let it sit on my scalp for close to 2 minutes, since that is something I tend to do with certain shampoos. The shampoo rinsed easily. The conditioner has a bit of a stronger aroma, it’s not the same, but of a similar scent to the shampoo, and also, “Vinegar-like”. With the conditioner, I found that I ended up using about the same amount as I do other hair conditioners I use, so the contents didn’t seem to, “Stretch” as much as the shampoo. The conditioner rinsed fine. I sometimes get, “Scalp issues” so I rotate shampoos, and use specialty shampoos in the rotation, that works well for me. After using the shampoo and conditioner a few times, I found that it works well for me. After washing my hair, and drying it, there is still a light scent left behind by the shampoo and conditioner, however it fades as the day wears on. Overall, the shampoo and conditioner worked well for me, I did not encounter any odd break-outs, and my scalp did well with it. I find this set is a bit pricey for the amount, though it is up front about the bottle sizes and such in the listing. And though this shampoo and conditioner set worked well for me, it didn’t seem much better than some other specialty shampoos I use in my rotation that I get more product in the bottle– Sulfur-based, Beer Yeast-based, and others. A good product, but I’d like to see a larger bottle for the price. Made in Thailand.Read more

I have tried MANY natural shampoos over the past few years, but this is the first one made from soap nuts. I’ve bought other nice products from Nature Sustained, and felt that this set was also good quality. It comes very attractively packaged, and the bottles are nestled in some shredded paper to keep them secure during shipping. The bottles are a good size, and I’ve found that it foams better than expected, so a little goes a long way. The shampoo itself, as it contains some probiotic ingredients, has a sharp yeasty/alcoholic smell. Not unpleasant, just unusual. It has a nice lather and isn’t difficult to work through your hair or rinse out. Same with the conditioner. My hair and scalp are super picky about what I use on them (I have thick, shoulder-length wavy/curly hair) and often I will know immediately if the product is too heavy or oily. Not so with this stuff. After diffusing it dry, my hair was pretty happy! Soft and curly, with only a little bit of heaviness/stickiness around the occiput. Nothing a little more diffusing and some homemade dry shampoo wouldn’t fix, and I’ll be sure to rinse a little better from here on out. So far my hair has held up quite well over the past few days, with no extra greasiness or excessive drooping/flattening. I’d say I don’t like this stuff quite as much as the Living Libations shampoo I usually use, but it’s a very close second. It’s pricey, but I hope it will last a long time.Read more
