My first complaint is probably more to do with Amazon warehouse. I’ve purchased used items before and normally they arrive in the condition stated. Bought this as a used open box in good condition. The box the microphone was was damaged but Amazon sent this item in the damaged box! The box was so damaged, it appeared the items in the box could fall out at any moment. Plugged in the microphone and nothing. Item didn’t work. Upon further inspection it became clear this item was never going to work. One of the wires inside the microphone was damaged and no longer connected to anything. Normally I would blame this all on Amazon warehouse but after inspecting the inside of the microphone it became very clear this item was built very cheaply. The exterior of the microphone is metal and it has some weight which leads you to believe wrongly that it is made of better material. The top of the microphone screws off to allow you to view the inside of the mic. It is hear where razor thin wire is used to make all the connections. Looks like possibly 24 gauge or higher. In this particular mic, one of the wires was no longer connected which is why it did not work. The manufacturer could have used slightly better gauge wire and would have something that could last for some time. Instead they went cheap. Upset at Amazon Warehouse for sending something that obviously was never going to work and was packaged poorly, but also very upset at how cheaply this thing is made.Read more

I usually give products a while if I write a review at all. That said, I received this mic today, plugged it in to test and instantly went down and ordered another one. I have a small home studio and band that is just starting to work in background vocals. I did not want to invest in multiple SM58s or other vocal mics because it didn’t seem worthwhile. When I plugged this mic in, the vocals were absolutely crisp and clear. I may even try to record with this. Even though I have some more expensive mics on hand, I’m interested in testing how this one stacks up. I’ll update my review if I get any results. For now, 5/5 based on the initial sound and price.Read more

I swear they read these reviews because the two PDMIC58 I received were both wired correctly for balanced use—when I opened them up, the pins were already wired correctly. The 1/4” to XLR cables are also wired correctly, which I checked with a multimeter. Also, a previous review said the cables smell terrible. Mine have literally been scented with some perfume. A bit odd but at least they’re trying. Pyle, if you’re still listening—the cutout in the mic body to engage the XLR connector’s larch isn’t cut quite right and the XLR’s don’t click in as a result. They just fit in by friction but the XLR spring tab doesn’t pop into the cutout hole like it’s designed to. Neither my amazon basics XLR cable nor the supplied cable worked.Read more

My children received the Singing Machine Karaoke speaker for Christmas. We soon realized that the microphones that come with it are garbage. So I searched long and hard to find replacement mics. I bought this based on the positive reviews and boy was I pleasantly surprised when we got this item. It is heavy duty, just like a professional mic (almost as nice as an SM-58 by Shure). The sound quality is excellent and now my kids won’t stop singing to their favorite songs. The XLR cord is very long and high quality. This thing is the amazing, especially for the price. I highly recommend this product. It delivers!Read more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this Pyle-Pro PDMIC58 to test against another cheap mic, the Vayohee Wired Dynamic Mic which was just about $2.50 less. I need quite a few mics in the next few weeks to host a candidate forum and didn’t want to break the bank, so I tried these two to see which would be better (for the price). I was SHOCKED at how good the Pyle Pro sounded and how well it was built, not only compared to the other plastic mic but also just in general and for the price. For a

I specifically bought this mic so that my kids wouldn’t ruin my SM58’s. It works perfectly for this purpose. Sound-wise, compared to the SM58, they’re not even close, and I’m not trying to be snobby. It does work similarly though, and it looks and feels very similar. However, it smells like a factory or cheap cardboard. First thing you’ll notice about the sound is that the low end is very “boomy” compared to an SM58. That’s fine because you can EQ it out. The microphone still sounds fantastic for the price IMHO. I didn’t bother trying the unbalanced cable that came with it, so no comment on that. However, as others have mentioned, mine doesn’t “click” when I plug in the cable, so the cable can be pulled out pretty easily. Again, oh well, the mic is darn near free, so I can’t complain too much. As a professional microphone, I’d give it 2 stars, but because you know what you’re paying for, it deserves 4 stars. I took one off for the cable retainer not working. I could take another off for the odor, but again, you know why it’s so cheap right?Read more
