Two different extenders fit the seatbelts on all the airlines I use. Makes buckling easier and sitting on a flight much more comfortable. Flight attendants don’t always have extenders available and if they think you don’t need one you won’t get one from them. Take your own! I won’t travel without my own now!Read more

I bought these thinking they were both the same seat belt. The blue one does not work on American Airlines and I am not sure what airline would use that buckle. I needed two for my husband and I but with one not working properly, we still had to ask for an extender.Read more

Starting in 2012 the FAA began issuing memos to commercial airlines letting them know that the FAA does not test, inspect, or approve the use of seatbelt extenders purchased by passengers and brought onboard. The FAA has banned the use of passenger provided seatbelt extenders and told airlines they are not allowed to let passengers use them and that the airlines can ask passengers to use the airline provided extender & if the passenger refuses, the passenger can be removed from the flight. Although there is a chance you can hide your extender and a Flight Attendant may not notice, it is still not safe. The extenders sold online to passengers may not be made from FAA approved materials and may not be fully adapted for use with the airline belt attached to the seat. The belt you buy and bring on might fail during an emergency situation or may damage the airline belt on the seat.. rendering that belt unsafe for the next passenger to use it. It should also be noted that if you or a passenger seated near you dies or is injured as a result of bringing and using your own extender, your travel, life, AD&D or other insurances may not legally have to pay you or your beneficiaries some or all of your benefits in the event of your death or injury. If you injure another passenger or damage their property as a result of using your own extender, you might be legally obligated to make restitution. Please know that all planes are required by the FAA to provide authorized, inspected, tested, approved seat belt extender s to passengers free of charge. Each plane carries a minimum of 3 to 4 extenders depending on the size of the craft. Ask for an extender as you board and a FA will hand you one. I’d they, on very rare occasions, run out of extenders it is possibly blue for them to call out and ask for more to be delivered before the plane taxis away from the gate. You do not need to fear that the airline will run out. Asking for one as you board is as simple as saying, “May I have an extender please?” The FAs know exactly what you mean and will hand one to you with a smile…they hand out hundreds of extenders a year and it’s no big deal to them at all. Purchasing an extender is an unneeded expense and risk. If an FA spots you with an unauthorized extender it will be very embarrassing if they ask you to switch it out and if you push back…they could have you removed from the plane.Read more
