Well, this works. A little too well. We knew we had a fly problem (thanks to new neighbors that have questionable horse care practices) But, WOW did we REALLY have a fly problem. The first day, this caught a few flies, but what happened over the following week was simply unbelievable. The more flies that got stuck in it, the more flies it seemed to attract. By day 4 there were so many flies that the entire bag was BLACK. My husband walked up and took a look and said..”That’s pure Hell in a bag right there.” We just hung a new one. Let the exorcism commence.Read more

As soon as I got them in I put one out on my deck and within 10 minutes it already had one fly in it. 4 hours later and there are about 20 in there. For some reason my backyard deck area had many flys buzzing around day and night. I needed something so figured I would try it out. Being that a majority of them fly close to the table I hung it up on the back of one of the deck chairs and dropped the back vision down. It started to work immediately attracting them. The fly count nearly doubled around me. But just a couple hours later, there’s only a few flys around. I’m outside so not expecting 100% capture rate. I also hung one of those cheap hanging stick traps right next to it for the stubborn flys that wouldn’t go in the trap and it caught a few of them as well. Going to leave it low on the chair for tonight then move it a little higher on the tiki hut for fly maintenance. Very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone with a fly problem. Fyi, it kind of stinks so not sure I would use this indoors long term. EDIT: Changed to 2 stars. As stated above, it does catch flies, it does have a stench to it, but it gets worse after a couple of days. Here is additional information. As stated, I moved the bags away from the deck area, roughly 20 feet for one and the second about 50 feet. That same day, those bags were filled with flies flying around inside the bag and flies flying around the outside of the bag. Within 2 days, there were maggots forming in them and there were alot. The maggots actually ate through the bag small holes and the water mixture dripped to the ground. This attracted more flies, near the ground and not the trap. The stench from these things when downwind was worse than roadkill sitting out for days being hit by the sun. The flies in the area intensified greatly because the trap was not only catching them, but attracting them but there was so many the trap can only do so much. This product is good for maybe 4-5 days before you have to get rid of it. I bought a couple more instantly from my first impression of them but think I am not going to put them up. I don’t think that I would recommend this for any home or barn use. I think this product would be better suited for short term relief like in camping situation. If your camp area has flies, like most public camp grounds, putting one of these up 20-30 feet away from your camp for the weekend or week, might reduce the nuisance.Read more

These things work!!! I’m working in Kuwait and this place is absolutely infested with flies. They swarm everywhere, it’s completely disgusting. We’ve killed hundreds and hundreds with fly swatters, we built screen doors for our building, but nothing was stemming the tide. So I ordered a couple of these and hung them up last night before I went home for the day. I came back this morning to find clouds of flies swarming around them almost fighting each other to be the first in the funnel. So within 24 hours, there are already enough dead flies in the trap that the living are walking on a solid mass of the floating corpses of the dead. Hopefully the little demon bodies will sink to the bottom as soon as they’re saturated with water. Meanwhile scores more are still stuck inside climbing the walls trying to find a way out. After weeks and weeks of being swarmed with these disgusting little creatures, this is glorious. So for the practical part of the review: The bag is self-contained, you will need to cut out a small hole in the plastic on the top (clearly marked), pull the yellow out a bit, and then pour water into the bag until it reaches the fill line. There is a baggie of bait powder inside that dissolves in the water. I added warm water so it dissolved quicker. The top of the yellow handle has a hole to hang it with, but you will need your own string or a nail. So in summary, these things are killing TONS of these flies. I’m so impressed that I’m ordering a couple more so I can keep this genocide up as long as I’m here. And I’ve attached a picture, don’t mind the low resolution, I’m using my beater phone and it’s hard to see through the bag due to the markings as well as all of the flies inside. But you can see the solid black mass of dead flies floating in the water as well as the doomed clinging to the walls. Buy these, you will not be disappointed.Read more

Okay I’m going to set the record straight here bc when I was looking to buy these, I was hesitant from all the overly dramatic reviews about them smelling like a rotting corpse and whatnot. Maybe I’m desensitized from changing my twin toddlers’ poopy diapers but it’s not even that serious guys. I live in a suburban area and I hung one right on my patio about 3 feet from the back door and the other on my tree in the front yard maybe about 6-7 feet from the front door. Yes, they have a little funky smell but it’s nothing like what the ppl in the reviews are describing. The flies are so bad this year bc we are near a bunch of farms and combined with the Texas heat, we needed something more than a flimsy fly stick and this is doing the trick. Within an hour there were 6 flies in the front one. We also put the CatchMaster fly strips inside the front window for the ones that slip in when we’re going on and out the front door, and it already has 12 flies on there. Please do not be turned off by the overly dramatic reviews about the smell. These things WORK!Read more
