The cushion works real well, providing a significant improvement in comfort and doesn’t move around at all as I row. It attaches with two elastic straps and an elastic drawstring around the perimeter. It’s the thickness advertised (a little over an inch) and a very dense foam that offered good padding for my workout. My wife says I have no butt (ha ha) so having this cushion really helped in regards to my tailbone being a little sore at the end of a rowing workout. I included a picture of my log card summary as proof I’ve rowed on this machine a lot and you can have some trust in what I’m saying here. This was my 499th workout on this particular machine, with the first 498 with no cushion and just using the standard seat. I row for 45 minutes at a time. Trust me when I tell you the cushion helps a lot. At this time, I cannot speak to its durability. I see no issues with that aspect at the moment since it is solidly connected to the seat and does not move around at all while I row. You can see from the pictures that it clears the seat rollers and nothing is rubbing. I don’t expect any wear items other than me sitting on it and that should not wear it out for quite some time. Wow, this cushion is only mildly softer than the seat itself. In fact after 30 minutes it becomes as unbearable as the seat. It is nice in that it has two straps that allow you to attach it to the original seat and then it has a removable drawstring cover. It’s also very sturdy but with that sturdiness comes way too much firmness, but is it better than nothing? Yes, but it isn’t that great and in the mean time while I figure out another cushion to order, I have a memory foam computer chair cushion sitting on top of this that allows me 35 to 45 minutes of rowing but my backside is screaming by the time I’m done. I suggest trying a thicker memory foam cushion.Read more
