This brand and style of tape is a staple at my house, so I know how it should perform. This is the first time I’ve bought it from Amazon. The quality is extremely poor. It will not adhere to the dispenser, so I have to search for the end of the roll before each use. Then, the tape ‘splits’ into slivers, rather than yielding the full width. There are some things we shouldn’t purchase on Amazon, and this item is most definitely on that list.Read more

Be sure to not make the mistake that I did. I bought this tape roll because it had more tape on it. That was a mistake. This tape barely fits in my dispenser. It won’t rotate naturally because the amount of tape on the roll makes it too thick for my tape roller. I can still get the tape to rotate by manually turning the circle, but that is not how it should function. Once I have used enough tape, it will eventually spin on its own like it is supposed to. The tape still works great!Read more

I bought this tape to replace a few “bargain” rolls that were incredibly difficult to use when peeling a new strip from the roll. The cheaper tapes were thin, and as you attempt to peel back a new piece the tape would rip into a tiny sliver and I’d end up wasting 5-6″ as I peeled back the individual strips until I had a piece that was as wide as the roll. Never expected to have the same trouble with the more expensive 3M stuff, but lo and behold, same issue but to a slightly lesser extent. Guess I’ll keep looking.Read more

Scotch 3M is a great brand and one I’ve been trusting for many years and is a brand I love and trust. This tape is awesome, it’s adhesive and very strong, I’ve tried other shipping tapes and they are not as good as Scotch 3M tape is this stuff is strong like 20x stronger than most tape…well accept maybe Gorilla tape but I would say that Gorilla and Scotch are evenly matched only difference is that Gorilla tape is 3 inches wide while Scotch 3M is only 2 inches wide so in the width department gorilla wins against Scotch 3M but in terms of durability, adhesiveness and strength they are equal. All the same I love Scotch. Now this is only a one pack so if you buy a 6-pack or 8-pack one will spend more money but remember if you ship a lot of items the more tape you buy the more you save in the long run, because I needed this to ship an item to a customer, so just keep in mind you never want to be in a situation where you need to send something and have no tape. I highly recommend this brand of tape it’s awesome.Read more

I purchased the same product at Home Depot a year ago I still have some left over the exact brand scotch 3M heavy duty. This does not have good adhesion like the same brand from Home Depot, it’s almost like a knockoff, but it might be because it’s stored inproperly. I could barely start it the tape it was so melted on. When it goes on the package it feels more like regular tape you use to wrap a birthday presents that’s the amount of adhesive. It’s probably a hit or miss whether you get one that was stored properly or not. If you’re not in a hurry and have time for the return process and to get a replacement, I would buy from Amazon – but if you’re counting on it working and need it immediately, I would buy it from a big box store that has a high turnover rate for products and less likely to be sitting in a warehouse for along time.Read more

I have moved twice in the past year. I tried purchasing a cheaper brand, but I wasn’t happy with the adhesion. When I packed up the patio odds and ends in boxes, I noticed a little over a week and the tape was coming off. I wasn’t moving for another week and now I had to repack everything. What a hassle! So, I ordered a 6 pack of this Scotch Tape here on Amazon and it arrived quickly. I love this tape. It really holds and I didn’t have to add layers of tape or tape every seam. It even held my heavy pottery from outdoors without the bottom breaking open. I am moved now, all it great! Nothing was broken and the tape really held perfectly as advertised.Read more

I mean, what is there to say? It’s the gold standard, it works, and I swear by it for everything I ship. I’ve tried the cheaper stuff, and it’s not worth the headache. I guess my one wish is that they could make this from recycled shopping bags or something? This is your standard great quality tape but I neglected to realize that it does not come encased with the saw type of tape cutter that I was used to. Other than that you just have to find a way to reference the last piece of tape you used and when I have done is put a penny or a button or something underneath the last area which seems to work fine.Read more
