Get outside and enjoy your lawn with Scotts Turf Builder Rapid Grass Sun & Shade Mix. With our unique, proprietary mix of grass seed and fertilizer in one effective formula, your lawn benefits from extended feeding, resulting in more full green grass! Compared to seed alone, your lawn will grow 2 times faster (when applied at the new lawn rate, subject to proper care). Use on either new lawns or overseeding existing grass. Scotts Turf Builder revolutionary sun and shade seed mix grows green, lush grass, in just weeks (see grass grow in 12 to 21 days)! Grass seed germinates best when temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F and after any chance of frost, usually in the Fall and Spring. To apply, rake the top layer of soil before applying grass seed with a Scotts spreader. For best results, water twice daily for at least 3 weeks. Each 5.6 lb. bag seeds 2,800 sq. ft. based on overseeding rate. Do not use weed control products until your lawn has been established (mowed at least 4 times), if you already applied weed control, please see those package directions on when to plant grass seed. Finally, be sure to apply Scotts Lawn Food products every 8 weeks throughout the season to help maintain your thick, green lawn.

Wish I could give this 0 stars! This product contains a fungicide, mefenoxam, which is potentially toxic to dogs! Not mentioned in the description. I am glad my husband read the label carefully before using it as we have a nine week old puppy, as well as an adult dog!Read more

I am positive their will be many 5 star ratings for this product and it is a rare thing for me to leave a comment. However, after spending $160 for 2 bags of Scott’s Rapid Grass, Cutting and the lawn low, watering like a crazy person, raking and aerating all in the proper order per manufacturers specs… Very little results and very, very little grass. Next time, $20 bag of old school plain grass seed for me.Read more

Used as directed. Even 3 weeks later only little sprouts on some areas. Was hoping it would look thick like the packaging showed by this time.Read more

I recently moved into a new house and the yard was mostly dirt with some patches here and there. I used one 16 pound bag of the rapid grass about two weeks ago and I am amazed at how much grass is already growing in the yard! I imagine I will need at least one more bag to get full coverage, but I will be tackling bare spots, rather than seeding the entire yard like it did this time. I highly recommend this product.Read more

3/7/2022 I’m still pumped about the growth! Think I may need another bag just to fill in some spots, but I’m happy! Grass is growing where I didn’t even think grass would grow, lol. Still watching. Have blades popping up in areas where grass never existed. It’s not all coming up evenly, but it is coming. Bought some of those aerator boot ties, stomped around the yard, seed then just raked afterwards. I’m no lawn guru so don’t follow any instructions I give. I’ll be honest and say I haven’t been watering super consistently and I may have did it too soon because we had a few more frosts after I did it. Somehow I’m still seeing growth.Read more
